Are you joking ? How is this better ? It is exactly the same gameplan as saturday . We will end up with 70% possession but lose 1-0. I desperately hope im wrong, but from the showing so far, i dont hold out much hope

This has to be the most boring pool team i can remember. Even when we win lately (bar Peterborough) its been turgid.

i know its ridiculous to moan when we’re in the play off mix but im a) not convinced at all by Critch b) finding it a chore to watch the games.

every game has the same pattern...piss about with it at the back for 10 minutes, into midfield, back again. Sideways...sideways again...back to Maxwell... i just don’t understand what we’re trying to achieve.

its so bloody ponderous that it cant be to work the opposition out of position since for the most part they just let us get on with it and stay in tgeir shape.
 
Got to be said Sunderland look very flat. Partly down to our defensive organisation. Let's not give them any encouragement.

Incredibly boring first half of football.

But I'll take that going in at half-time, you'd be disgusted as a Sunderland fan at their display. If there is no urgency from us, I don't know what to say about them!

KD has had an excellent 45. Not one misplaced pass and some neat turns. We're dominating what many on here called the best side we've played against. They look tired like we have recently. I bet their fans are exploding.
 
Neither sides would be playing like this if fans were there. No urgency from two sides looking to pick up points and form but it's been so slow and ponderous most of that half. It can only get better. 🙂 👍
 
The last time I was at Sunderland we drew. Went on a BST coach or at least it was stewarded by them. What ever happened to the alternative coach service to away matches? Some one said it was lack of demand. ?
 
It's not a game where you want to concede the first goal that's for sure. We're looking better than in the last couple of games but still don't have that goal threat yet. At least Simms and Stewart can be positive substitutions.
No idea how it's going to turn out.
 
We started to show a little bit more going forward toward the end, I hope that is a bit of belief and wind in the sails "we can beat these".

Jerry with a decent pop, that little move outside their area.. more of that over the entirety of the 2nd half and we might nick this 1 nil. COME ON YOU POOL!
 
Agree that we are controling the game but as an attacking side we are not creating many chances we need to put there defence under a bit more pressure ,you can sense how nervous sunderland are ,all they want is to get crosses in to whyke we can win this with a bit more effort ,

I think with 30000 mackems moaning at full volume they'd be panicking, ballooning it out of play left right and centre, but they'd have a bit more about them. Anyway, hot news, we won over 60 percent of aerial duels that half. These are the stats that matter.
 
Be great to have a speedy right winger because we do down the right from promising positions is to go back and across instead of getting to the by-line and crossing
 
It looks like neither side are playing to win, everyone is scared to make a mistake and honestly a point would do us fine as well. Frustrating to watch mind you.
 
In terms of entertainment Pool are an embarrassment. Didn't Sadler promise entertaining football and isn't that supposed to be Critchley's remit?
 
We don’t look bad when we run at people the issue is we don’t. We always seem to be looking to pass it sideways or back. Better than the last 2 games but we don’t look like a promotion side.
