Sunderland v Blackpool Official Matchnight Thread 27.04.21

I really don't know what some people expect. We've more than matched Sunderland. If this was Betfred I'd be cashing out for 0-0.
Fair enough being critical for a similar performance at home to Rochdale but we're playing the team that was 3rd in the League when we kicked off at their ground.
I'm more than happy so far.

I think it’s been a pretty good performance tbh. There’s obviously a degree of nervousness and that’s understandable. I’d much sooner take a point here than leave with none having tried play more attacking football. I think we’re set up well and controlling the game. We really just need a moment of brilliance or one splitting pass. Individual creativity has been a problem all season though. Robson’s not really been at it (although I wouldn’t say he’s been poor - no one has so far tonight) but it may be worth switching him with Simms and putting Kai Kai or Yates on the left.

The way we keep the ball is good, until a point we then overplay and go back and hoof as you say making it utterly pointless.

Surely thr manager should say once you have worked your way forward you have to try something.
I actually applauded Ollie Turton’s ballooned shot because at least he had a go!!

I honestly don't give a fuck if we are boring at the moment, results if we can get them over performance at the moment, i'm happy with that first half! They are at home and are not creating anything so far.

I think I’d be more worried if I were a Sunderland fan after the first half performance off the back of 3 defeats and 2 draws - they have to improve massively for the Play Offs.

1st post as I’ve been watching the match. Just shaved the first half. COYP.
Think I’ll wait until the end before posting again.

Have to say we don't really deserve to go up as we have hardly set the division alight. Can think of numerous teams better going forward than us Oxford, Charlton, peterboro, Lincoln, Hull, even Accrington. Will not complain if we go up but when you compare this to the Holloway and grayson team we got promoted with its chalk and cheese.

Sunderland have obviously had a rocket up their arse at half time.

If results stay as they are e would be one point ahead of Portsmouth & Oxford with a game in hand.

Sunderland are definately nervous and if we can be more positive going forward are there for the taking...we are defensively very solid without playing 5 at the back just need more bodies in attacking positions.

OK let's not go for promotion then.
