Swansea v Blackpool Official Matchday Thread 20.11.21

Their player made too much of it though - like he'd been shot, ref was sick of it. I'm with the ref.
I don`t know how much he was entitled to make of it but I do know that as they both said on Quest it was a clear foul which is what has to be determined when deciding whether to give a penalty so we were undoubtedly very lucky there.

Hopefully as we undeservedly were denied 2 extra points against QPR and only luckily gained one point today there`s more decisions to go our way to even things up.

I really like Sterling but I agree with your comments, it has to be one or the other and I agree Gabriel as he is outstanding and he's our player. Maybe a completely different position for Sterling? The player who I would be happy to not be in the team is Connolly, I thought he was really poor today.
The manager was praising Connolly post match!

We brought in three players in James, Connolly and Sterling who have barely played a game between them in months and still we got a deserved point away to a team who are on a great run at home. We had more attempts on goal and on target than they did. It might feel disappointing whenever we don't win because we have great momentum and belief, but honestly this was a great point that bodes really well I think. The quality of player we had on the bench, and even some of the one's who weren't in the matchday squad, is staggering considering we still managed to get something from the game.

Please please can we not start casting judgement on players like Connolly just yet. I know everyone is only commenting on the game, but I feel we need to cut some slack to those like him and James who just haven't been selected much. It isn't that easy to be suddenly shoved back in the first team having been out for ages, they'll be a bit rusty and like most players need a run of games to show what they can do. Not saying these guys will turn out to be stars necessarily, but I think they deserve a chance to prove themselves to the fans - and by chance I mean more than the odd game every seven or eight weeks.

Pint and total,y deserved - our players work their socks off and that’s what you have to do to bea Critchley player

Well done everyone today - the fans bro pliant as expected 👍👍😎🕺🍊⚽

We got away with one there, stonewall penalty on hubby but after our recent reffing woes it's a bit of well deserved good fortune, sure they won't see it that way though. Does Keshi have some Jedi mind trick like abilities? starting to think so after another slow moving, time-bending finish. Great point though overall, we are no pushovers, and like any team that has taken a new league by surprise the scouting on us has improved and we are adjusting well and proving very hard to beat. Delighted over here in a rapidly deteriorating USA.

Swansea are the most boring footballing team I’ve seen. Just ruined the game. We then decided to do what they did. James had a disaster tbh. Connolly isn’t Kenny. Marv shakey.

Husband MOTM by a mile.
I agree with you about Swansea being boring, Connolly isn't Kenny but he did OK. Marv did have a few wobbles but I thought James did well. And Hubby was my MOTM.

I thought James had a good game. Connolly was solid and Mrv had a great game . Agree about Husband M.o.M though .

maybe if we had they would of mullered us, with hindsight you could always do things better, but doesn't mean that we set up wrong.
A point at Swansea with a 100 million squad is a good point. We set up right.
"We set up right" is only your opinion, no more than that. A draw, however, was a decent result keeping us and Swansea safely in mid table.

Agree. The fact he might have been touched doesn't mean the player didn't dive in an exaggerated manner. And that is more than likely what the ref saw. It might have been a penalty by the letter of the law but ut was also a blatant dive. The two are not mutually exclusive.

Who was calling for him to be brought off? Don't go into management!
Our best players were Ekpiteta, Husband, Sterling and Keshi. Connolly and Wintle did OK. James, not sure either way tbh. Gabriel was OK but him and Sterling seem to duplicate each other. Grimshaws distribution was generally quite poor. Both Bowler and Mitchell need to get their heads up.

Good post.

What a load of tripe. Watch it again after removing your Tangerine specs. Stop trying to defend the indefensible ( your previous post).

Husband did not just touch him he stood firmly and fully on their player`s foot/ ankle. However that player reacted subsequently does not change the fact that he had already clearly been fouled in the penalty area. That should be a penalty 100%.

Wasn't given - so that's the end of it.

It wasn't a penalty because the ref didn't give it. But if you care to read my post properly I said the guy dived. He did that to try and influence the ref into awarding a penalty. And your comparison with the QPR incident is a load of tripe as well. One was the ref deciding in HIS opinion whether to award a penalty and the other was a proven factual mistake by the ref.

Rubbish but as ever you have to argue however wrong you demonstrably are .You just can`t help yourself can you. You find it almost impossible to admit you`re wrong. We were debating on here whether it SHOULD have been given not whether it was given as we know that already. Is that too much for you to grasp?

Any impartial observer such as the two on Quest last night looked at evidence for their three penalty claims and concluded that the Husband tackle was the one that definitely should have been given.T he evidence to anyone watching was clear, it wasn`t given but was undoubtedly a foul.

are you deliberately being a dick. Of course you are. My primary point was about the theatrical dive to try and make sure the ref gave it. If you don't think he dived and that his actions were theatrical then you are more stupid than I already know you are. You could discuss every game every week and there will always be a claim for a penalty. It's also a fact that in probably every game there's a case for a penalty being given that isn't. You're really offering nothing new.

Thanks for that silly of me I should have remembered you always know best, so rather than wasting my time I`ll leave you to it.

Don`t forget to get the treatment. Good luck with that.

good reply, rather than address the points I make you offer nothing. Anyway it amuses me that I know best. Bit like you and your racing tips, and your golf posts. After the event of course. That's why I give you the "treatment" because I sussed you for what you are years ago. A bullshitter. You've been doing it for years. Amazing how easy I draw you in too. You can't help yourself. Have a nice day.
