Swansea v Blackpool Official Matchnight Thread 15.02.23

I know football isn't about the money and we choose to spend it on what we want but last week, I spent about £400 for the games.

150 or so Blackpool fans have spent money and time going down to watch this and have been served up with that dross.

It's disgusting.

Got the Swansea TV feed on as our seems very laggy ... Lee Trundle and AN Other.
They seem genuinely sorry for us, almost embarrassed.

For the first time all season I’d say they’ve given up the ghost.

But just look at how much space Bowler had with that shot late on. Swansea are vulnerable…we get a goal by hook or by crook and they could fold. Let’s just bag a Raggy goal within ten mins of the restart and we will look like a different team.

Shocking first half usual story again midfield just nowhere to be seen.
Jerry looks like he’s just ready to clock off and fuck off home.

Lucky to get to half time only one goal behind, I know we're short of bodies in midfield but Patino and Carey just does not work.

I fear we've got this badly wrong with McCarthy, not sure what we can do about it though, who's going to want to take on this shit show

Switched to 5-3-2 there with Josh Bowler upfront. Jeez.

As dogshit goes that was proper dogshit.

The way they move the ball is light years ahead of our play.

Does anyone see a pattern to our play?

I’m not seeing a new Manager bounce?

We have to get at them second half. Only positive is it’s only 1-0 but I haven’t seen a good pool performance since Coventry in October and all this crap is making me depressed. Just string 3 passes together Goddamit

To go in at half time only 1 down is a remarkable achievement considering how shambolic that performance was. Truly abysmal without a shred of hope for the second half
There always hope!

I’m thinking what I could have bought with the tenner I’ve thrown away on this though. Should have sent it to Turkeys earthquake appeal and given up on BFC. It’s a masterclass in where complacency in football gets you.

At this rate we'll only get into the area where we can score a goal a few more times if it carries on like this.

The midfield has been poor but then the ball is just launched over their heads back to the other team to pass round them.
Once again a MM sh1tshow

Call me crazy but I agree there are goals in this for us if we can get Poveda on and start to play some football.

be lucky to get a point from this . really cant see us saying up sadly . Critchley leaving i think really buggered the whole long term plan up and we never recovered from that .

With the run we had under Appleton he had to go ( probably should have gone earlier).
We have no idea what managers were available in January to replace him. Huddersfield clearly had a similar problem in they have appointed Warnock.

The way the players have performed this season is the problem…. These guys are so called professional footballers who by now in their careers, should know how to play the basics, with or without much managerial input.
They don’t because they are league one standard ( possibly a couple of exceptions) .

A team hell bent on keeping possession and we just hoof it back to them every time, think MM has got dementia if he thinks this will get us out of the shite.

Birmingham came from behind to win here exposing how vulnerable Swansea are if you go after them. MM is playing into their hands.

Yates, Patino, Bowler...they're being wasted with this set up. When Thorniley is the last man on the wing to put a cross over then you know it's garbage - nothing against Thornily either. There's nowt happening through midfield. We set up four across the back and they by-pass us through the channels. Bowler intercepts in defensive midfield and there's no-one forward to pass to - apart from a heavily marked Yates who can't be everywhere. Jeez!

17% possession and 53% pass success says it all.
Looking at the positives all (both) our shots have been on target.

I think Quitch saw the writing on the wall and got an escape plan in place. This isn't his fault it is all down to the 2 men at the top. Somethings not right but then that's par for the course for us

17.4% possession. 😂

Mostly when we did get it we then launched it into the empty space behind their defenders or let CJ waste the move.
