That's probably it for me now

Azov Battalion ( Nazis )
Al Qaeda
Al -Nusra front
East turkistan Islamic movement
Kosovo liberation army
Lybian Islamic fighting group
Right sector

Just a few of the not terribly democratic groups on the frontline of the wests global war to spread freedom and democracy

Our club shouldnt be showing support for these groups

If it's about innocent civilians fair enuff but why just ukraine and no others
I said prove yourself right….

You’ve given me some kind of brain fart in response.

So go back to your initial post and focus on demonstrating your point with factual information.

You’ve clearly done some in depth research, so it should be dead straightforward for you 👍

What difference ? You've called me a crackpot and told me to stop smoking DMT so obviously you're -100% certain I'm wrong
So educate me as to why I'm wrong
Link me to your source

As for medical apartheid the club were guilty of thats a given right??
I’m giving you an opportunity and you’ve decided to shy away from it.

I think that tells us everything we need to know…👍

I’m done 🙂

Glad your ok , but lay off the insults cos someone has a different view
You may actually be wrong you know
There’s every possibility I’m wrong about a lot of things.

But you’re never going to get an avftt without tomfoolery and wicked banter 😏 and I’m not wrong about that.

That's a no you ain't got a credible source you just jumped on me to follow the narrative you've swallowed
You tell me I've fallen for the oldest trick in the book but you havnt eh

I remember you thinking you were something meeting koko you were a bit of a joke then and still are
Sorry if I jumped on you, it’s just that you’re like modern day Jehovah’s Witnesses….

I was just trying to shut the door in your face, before you went full metal preacher on us.👍

Shit the bed I didn't realise it was THE Phil! Has he changed his pic? I'm sure it used to be his mug on the beach... thats what's thrown me off!

Which bit don't we agree on
Well…

I am happy that my club supports the people of Ukraine in repelling the unprovoked and aggressive invasion by an authoritarian state.

I’m also happy that my club followed government legislation to implement temporary measures to manage a medical emergency.

Quite how you’ve shoehorned this into this conversation with all the subtlety of a vegan at a dinner party god only knows!

This thread is in a bad way*

*Yes, it's AVFTT's Sunday Night Pop Quiz, who can tell me the link to the above phrase and a prominent poster on this thread?

This season

I can't imagine i will bother with any more matches until next season now there is nothing to play for

Done about 28 games so thats not too bad

1 point from the last 9 has just killed the season

The entertainment factor this season has been minimal to be honest, we have ground out some decent results but it's hardly been edge of the seat stuff

We struggle to create chances and are reliant on a strong defensive shape

Mid table probably about right given how many points we have thrown away in the last 5 mins or so of matches

Desperate in need of a creative midfield player to unlock defences and it will be interesting to see what pans out with Bowler and how we replace him if he goes

Big transfer summer this to see if we can kick on

Hopefully we can sign some key starters who will improve the team

Phil

I actually agree with a lot of what you say but I'm sure it won't come as a surprise to you that you are not allowed to say some of the things that you have said.

There is certainly a lot of positivity around the club at the moment and the atmosphere at the majority of home games has been great.

While many of the home games have been exciting, I'd be struggling to say that the football has been particularly entertaining.

We have often been outplayed at home but I think that means that we have done really well to be where we are - we have never really looked like going down - despite being outplayed at home so often IN MY OPINION.

You say we are desperately in need of a creative midfield player and I'm thinking many would say that there is not a team in the country who isn't but I'm not so sure that a creative midfield player would be of particular use to us because I think we are more about being solid and hard to break down and I'm not sure that we could afford to have a luxury player ?

If we could source a combative, box to box, creative, play making, goal scoring midfielder then fair enough but I don't think that's very likely and I think it's more likely that we acquire - or improve the existing players - players that make us better at doing what we try to do, hard to beat etc, etc.

To be honest, while I don't feel that the football has been very entertaining, I'd much rather easily survive while being more solid than get relegated or even narrowly avoid relegation after a relegation playing more expansively.

I have only talked about home games because I can't remember the last time I went to an away game but just from Lee's videos I can see that the supporters have really created a good atmosphere at away matches and really got behind the team and that can only be a good thing.

Sorry for rambling as per usual and I guess I should have just said I agree with a lot of what you say regarding the on field stuff but maybe you should give more credit to the team, that's the coaching staff and the players, for what has actually been achieved on the field this season - we easily retained our Championship status - and to the club for ensuring the feel good factor has been maintained.

There is no doubt that things are not perfect - on or off the pitch - and we can always improve but I think it's fair to say that we are going in the right direction and I think some folk just don't want to here your valid recommendations when that's the case.

yep, good post. I just wonder if Critch sees this creative midfielder as a priority? We rarely have played with the system requiring one even when Carey was fit. There again with Bowler and Keshi out wide you can understand why he chose to play the way he does. Will losing Bowler if he goes force Critch to re-evaluate how he wants to play? For me, Bowler has been the essential ingredient of how we set up and I doubt we can replace him with anyone like his pretty unique talent. So that may force him to change his system.

I wish I'd read this post and just liked it rather wasting half my life spouting the chite I just did above.

Just started reading the thread backwards and just to say that folk have not been as harsh on the Welsh Michael Eavis as I suggested in my original post.

Jesus wept yet totally predictable

Er no the club emblem is wrapped in the flag of a country full of Nazis , like it or not it's true just cos the BBC doesn't tell you so doesn't stop it being so
This could be the most contradictory post in AVFTTs history. It's true cos I said it is, and it's not true because someone else say it's true.

You're full of shit.

Nah its been ok
Yeah, I'm with Phil, the season has been ok. We had a chance a few games ago to finish top half. And now we've just petered out which is really disappointing.

Critch had a chance to change things up and attack a bit more, he hasn't. And even now he's still sticking with players who have under performed in the last 5 games.

Happy with how the season has gone, I'd have taken ok at the start of it but the summer is vital.

He needs to sometimes be less methodical and go for it, the whole not making subs for 80 minutes when losing is an annoyance too.
