Prior to last Saturday's game, myself and the Mrs decided to have pre-match drinks and something to eat in the Corner Flag. We were taking 2 grandchildren to the game and thought it would be a nice touch for us all to have lunch there rather than in the pub/pub's.

We arrived at 13.00, and looked for a table. To my bemusement, all the tables that were empty were reserved. We decided to go to the bar and order a drink and I asked the bar staff if there were any tables that weren't reserved as we wanted to eat. I was told to ask the manageress when she became available, which is what I did. Her response was, that the tables are reserved and that they are booked on a season long basis, and that she would have to keep them reserved up to at least 14.00.

So to me, this seems like lost revenue for the club, due to the fact we could have ordered four meals and more drinks before 14.00. If this is the case, then the tables should be reserved for a set time, meaning that if no one turns up at that time then the table could be used for others. I also noticed that 50% of the tables that were occupied, were folk just drinking and not eating.

When ew left at 14.10 after finishing our drinks stood at the bar, I counted 7 empty tables but still reserved. Due to the terrible weather we decided against walking to the Bloomfield for food and just settled for a pie on the concourse.

Maybe this is something our SLO could look into.

Just to add: I was talking to a few Luton fans at the bar who were staying in the Hotel, and they couldn't even get room service for food on a match day. They too had to stand at the bar with no tables available.

I had a horrible experience with her too
A small slightly heavy blonde woman in a white suit

Nobody else in the bar besides one guy and refused me a drink saying the same thing, then i spotted Madine inside and asked for a signature as i was going out and she closed the door in my face waving her hand as if to “shoe” away a dog

Very upsetting and embarrassing and she is totally not suited to her role working with the public

It's a good job the mother-in-law was away for the weekend and missing the game, otherwise all hell would have broke loose. She's not one to hold back when she's hungry 🤣

That's the one Limerick !!

That really is a joke. It’s actually worth paying someone a decent whack who has a lot of experience in the catering trade and let them run it. I imagine takings would go up massively.

Are you sure it wasn’t OO, blonde with a liking for a white suit?

We went in there for a meal the other evening as wanted to put money in the clubs coffers - it was for my sons birthday and when I booked the table I asked for some table decoration. She said she would put banners and balloons up. When we got there nothing had been done and the food was mediocre at best. There was no atmosphere and most of the tables were empty. Missed opportunity by the club here to capitalise on its fanbase - perhaps offer 10% off to season ticket holders? Certainly wont be rushing back

The quality of the hotel, and the restaurant, has detoriorated significantly - both are suffering from years of neglect. I stayed there recently (for the PNE game) and the rooms deperately need renovating - the breakfast buffet was really poor and the service non-existent. At over £100 per night I would advise people to look elsewhere.

Shes absolutely not suited with dealing with the public, looks poor on the club, even though she’s probably employed by Rowley or who ever owns it, but shes still a face of our Club
Don’t bring Rowley into it; they let the reins go along time ago - hence change of name. Had it been Lindsay (who did front of house) then it would have been nothing but professional.

I have also noticed these permanently empty "booked" tables. It is ridiculous to allow them to be booked for the season, especially if not all of them are turning up. This needs sorting.

You can get a table if you turn up before 12.15, but few people will want to turn up that early before a match.

Take a deposit off them

It was not anyway professional ive worked years in hospitality (over here), it was anything but.

Also I didn’t know as Paul Rowley still works match days upstairs

I stopped going in there as service at the bar was slow. As for the hotel a friend of mine stayed there recently and had nothing but praise for it.

Not anymore. 12:30 is the earliest now as players have their pre-match meal just prior to that. They were late leaving on Saturday and there was a huge queue outside the lift waiting to get in.

I went once a few seasons back and thought it was shite. Never been back since, and reading the above seems like it hasn’t changed much.

I would use it as another hospitality option with a decent food offering and the option of a match ticket - or not. At the moment, and when I went, it was kind of like an unofficial supporters bar where it was a bit of a free for all and I’m not sure the situation and design of the place lends itself to that.

We usually go for a pub meal pre match. Rarely do the club hospitality due to the price - even though I’ve enjoyed it when I’ve been - so I reckon if they can offer a price point somewhere in between (without match ticket) then that might be the best option for it.

Its not been the same since Paul Rowley and Lindsey had it

It was fantastic then and has gone down hill

The booking of tables is bang on though as the same season ticket holders go in every week before and after the game spending thousands over the season

If someone who uses the place occasionally can't get a table then thats just tough I'm afraid

But if you have empty tables because they don’t turn up how does that make sense?

How busy does it get on a Tuesday night off season ? Genuine question

Can't say I ever been in nor do I want to. Just boycot the place, easy peasy. It's like the pies on the concourse for £3.50 if you stop buying them they might reaise that they are shit and get some other cheaper pies in. People are their own worse enemies sometimes. Football fans just seem to be treated like shit at most grounds.

3 pound 50 for a pie sorry but you must be crazy to pay that for shite on the reports on here
Go to to greggs or a butchers and shove it in your pocket
Until the club sort out the suppliers

I tried to buy some Hotel gift vouchers as a prize toward the Armfield mural raffle thinking these would be an attractive prize. Thanks to the donations from FY6 seasiders and the Preston/Bispham/Wirral diaspora the prize was worth at least 240 quid. In answer to my email I was told "we don't do gift vouchers" so we agreed to fund two high end hospitality tickets instead. Our experience staying in the hotel for the Jimmy tribute was mixed. Nice rooms, nice breakfast, lovely and accomodating reception staff and bordering on useless bar service. Oh, and a brief but life affirming interaction with Big Gaz, Keogh and Hubby. These boys are the essence of the new Blackpool FC 👍

Not match day I know.
But on a positive note, my relative came over mid week for a few nights and stayed at the Hotel in October. I went to meet them for a few drinks in there one night and they had nothing but praise for the Hotel. The relative has allergic reactions to certain foods so the cook came out to chat and made her an individual meal not on the menu. Did it two nights running. Said how friendly the staff were etc, they really were impressed.

According to my pal who employed within the club she's called Samantha and surprisingly the food and beverage manager for the hotel. Probably why theirs a high turnover of staff within that department !

Sorry to read this thread.

I stayed at the hotel several times in 2019 and always enjoyed it - the food in particular was of a very high standard and the staff very helpful. Of course, Christine was managing it back then.
