I would have said I was a Republican in my 20's now more indifferent- when you look st history since 1066 they have ,by and large, been a bunch of cnts to the people
Current monarch appears to be respected throughout the world and if the ridiculous pomp and ceremony makes people warm and fuzzy inside fill your boots.
They do help perpetuate the rotten class system and are by definition anti meritocratic.
On reflection I tend to dislike out and out royalists than I do the actual royals

People keep saying the Royal Family bring in tourists and lots of money but do we have any evidence of that? For it to be true wouldn’t people have to come to the U.K. solely to see the Royal Family?

No doubt when they are here they enjoy all the pomp and pageantry but isn’t it just a part of our Heritage? And the tourists come for the full package. Not just the Royal Family.

They must do. Why else did we build Windsor castle so close to Heathrow?

I think you're being totally unreasonable trying to compare France and the Netherlands. Sure, the Dutch have a monarchy but in terms of appeal it doesn't close to ours with regards to what tourists want to see. Like it not our Monarchy and it's history is a fascination to millions of people round the world. France is France and in Paris it has it's romanticism which appeals to the world over. It really is as simple as that.

I thought people only went to Holland for the hookers and the weed?
I always felt isolated going there for business and being the odd one out on the plane back
