The Summer Transfer thread. Critchley Part_deux.

Reads like their owner trying to drum up interest in order to get a club to pay a fee.

32, injury prone, and only played 16 games last season and will cost 300k, hard pass.

Would be surprised if we actually submit a bid.
He's 30.

But i doubt we'll go for him unless we're short at the end of August and he's still available

Glad a club like Leicester are bidding, just means that we'll be able to get a big fee for him.

With Leicester having parachute payments and big fees from sales, I think we should be able to get close to 5m, especially if other clubs come in too.

We are in a good spot with Yates no matter what; we keep him and we have a 25 goal scorer in League 1, if we sell then we have 4m-5m to invest in the squad.
Be good if we could get George Hirst included aswell as a fee.

Iiiii have a fwend in Wome called Baccus......
Well, if you can do something about that speech impediment, I see no good reason why you shouldn't join him. It's just I know how tetchy the Romans can be about such things. Why, in the days of the coloseum...

Our transfer rumours are nonexistent and so this thread has now slipped onto page 2, when you would imagine it should be permanently at the top of page one at this time of the close season.

I’ve always said that Jerry’s commitment and energy levels are unquestionable but, is he really good enough for the Championship?
IF he stays then I believe a season in the 3rd tier will do him good and boost his confidence no end. Although he does have confidence in abundance it doesn’t quite work for him (IMO) in the Championship.
No doubt I will be told that he has been played out of position for most of the season but hey, as I said it is just my opinion..

8th highest scorer in a relegated side. Of course is good enough.

Blackpool Football Club is delighted to announce the signing of Albie Morgan on a three-year contract with an option for a further 12 months. Albie will join the Club following the expiration of his contract at Charlton Athletic.

Charlton life & Twitter grown men meltdown incoming….

Agree but I understand the point being made, and a fair proportion of his goals were penalties. He would be a fantastic asset to us in L1, but I do struggle to understand why he would be a great addition to the likes of Leicester and Luton.

I cant see him going to Luton, Prem is too big a leap surely. Leicester feels too big too but i dont know their circumstances and what their owners intend. He's good enough for most Championship sides though IMO. Cov downwards maybe. He has spells without scoring whuch i think is down to confidence but also being in a lower half Championship team that didnt create regular chances for him. Think about his goals and he is a quality finisher.

From the BBC.
Tottenham have submitted a joint £50m bid to Leicester City for England midfielder James Maddison, 26, and 25-year-old England forward Harvey Barnes.

If they want Jerry, they can up their bid quite a bit if they've got this sort of money incoming.

Bit part at Leicester I would have thought, hence the level of their offer. Just because they are looking likely to get a fair bit of incoming doesn’t mean they will improve massively for a player who they view as a bit of a squad option only.

Even if they really want him they'll only pay just enougb to beat off competitors. Obviously. Nobody ever said, "hey we're loaded, have 25 million!"

It really depends on who the competitors are, if Leeds, Southampton, or one of the other ex-PL sides get into a bidding war, the price could go up rapidly.

Of course. But there's a Jerry ceiling and it wouldnt get much above 5m i suspect even if all those clubs got involved. 7m absolutely top whack i reckon. And i still think it'll be 3.5 - 4 ish.

The Boss of Goss, Alan Nixon, one hour ago reckons there is not much happening at Blackpool. I would be surprised and very disappointed if that is the case.

Nothing to say new manager would even want Yates. As for us I imagine we have two budgets. Jerry stays or Jerry goes and I imagine Jerry goes wlll garner more of our first choice targets. I hope we are set up from the start to push for promotion.

Sorry yeah i used the wrong thread. This one needs stickying. Not too proactive our mods? Too many multiple threads for same topics too.

Discussions are underway as Sheffield Wednesday look to try and bring Reece James back to the club next season following promotion.

Owls manager, Darren Moore, is a big fan of the Blackpool defender having worked with him even before his arrival at Hillsborough on loan last season, and it was always thought that they’d be considering the option of bringing him back.

James himself, who played 34 times in Wednesday colours on their way back to the Championship, has made it clear that he’d jump at the opportunity to return to S6 if it presented itself, and talks are now taking place to see if that can happen.

Wonder if we could get a swap deal? I'd be chasing Malik Wilks - powerful winger and top scorer in L1 a few years ago
