With McCarthy in charge you are right, but any other Manager would be getting a lot more out of this team than McCarthy has achieved so far. That makes us the worst team

Not if we bounce back as champions.Relegation is financial suicide for the club, and the town .
Well said!!! The recruitment has been piss poor, Even Critchley would have struggled this season had he stayedThey're all simply finishing off the shit show that Mansford started in the summer by failing to complete essential signings. He is supposed to be CEO isn't he?
I said in the match thread that he should take most of the responsibility.
No planning at all. Recruit an unpopular manager, fail to give him the players he needs, sack him, then sign some of the players players he needed in the first place
** bizarre
Can you honestly see that - relegation will be a disaster. Not if we bounce back as champions.
A winning side (if) will always attract bigger home gate’s regardless of division.
AND WE ARE NOT DOWN YET.
It's too late. We have to face facts that we're not going to see either make any meaningful contribution to us this season, and probably never will in future seasons either.A fit Fiorini will make a big difference to our midfield. If we can get one of Bridcutt & Stewart on the pitch at the same time we might even start looking like a team who belongs in the Championship.
Possibly as Fiorini wasn't fitWhy was Patino thrown straight back in to the starting 11 ? And to accomadate him we play poveda out of position isolated on the Wing trying to control goal kicks from maxwell
I'm sorry to say but I agree. This season has been a pathetic mess from start to finish in every way possible, and it's painful, truly painful to watch. The end of the season can't come quick enough
Spot on!I disagree.
We've been piss poor all season.
We've had a catalogue of injuries and made the wrong choice of manager in Appleton.
We give away possession far to easily and that's why we lose games.
We can't string two passes together.
The simple fact is that the players we have simply are not Championship standard.
Just got home myself and that’s spot on, it’s kind of harder to take after the 3 points on Saturday, the amazing atmosphere, the great escape chant, I was buzzing like we all were, this in my mind was the turning point where we’d go on a decent run and scrape survival, imagine what the result would have been if they had the 2 best players fit, it was a great opportunity, now I can’t see past us finishing in the bottom 3, results with Rotherham and stoke rubbed salt in the wounds, to lose 0-1 with a battling performance would have at least given us hope, I can’t say I’ve much hope left now, never mind it’s only a game ( one we aren’t very good at)Just back
Awful, end of.
I was positive before tonight, that's gone. Depressed.
Appleton wouldn’tWith McCarthy in charge you are right, but any other Manager would be getting a lot more out of this team than McCarthy has achieved so far.
Critch struggled at QPR where he had a better squad than Blackpool and left with a similar Championship record to Appleton this season.Well said!!! The recruitment has been piss poor, Even Critchley would have struggled this season had he stayed
Those three were very poor. Might have some skill but application and fitness were poor. Can’t disagree with that. But Im not having that with Poveda, Bowler and Rogers - we don’t have more going forward. It’s the manor in which we are setting up for me, it’s square pegs round holes yet again. We aren’t great, but surely not this poor.
Appleton should have gone after Wigan, leaving a new man to assess his squad during the World Cup break and be prepared for the January window to get the players in to fill the gaps.Appleton had delivered 26 points from 27 games when he was sacked, even a point of game from the remaining 19 games would have given us a reasonable chance of avoiding relegation. Appleton had to deal with an unprecedented level of injuries and suspensions. The squad McCarthy now has at his disposal is stronger and far more equipped for the Championship than the squad Appleton ever had, it is now time for McCarthy to deliver and put the first 6 games behind him and focus on the remaining 13 games.
No they wouldn't. They're not good enough all over the pitch. With McCarthy in charge you are right, but any other Manager would be getting a lot more out of this team than McCarthy has achieved so far.
Alas we will never know, the only guarantee is that Appleton would have set the team up very differently from McCarthy who has now lost 3 consecutive away games which is something Appleton never managed to do whilst he was at Blackpool. To get even a point away from home we seem to be totally reliant on getting clean sheets. McCarthy has now had 7 games including the FA Cup match, the football as expected is crap but the performances and the results are even worse.Appleton wouldn’t
I agree, once we got to mid Jan it was Appleton’s team and he should have been given till the end of Feb at least.Appleton should have gone after Wigan, leaving a new man to assess his squad during the World Cup break and be prepared for the January window to get the players in to fill the gaps.
He stayed until mid January, actually brought players in and was then binned. Too late for any new man to make a difference.
This debacle is on the Board.
Keeping Appleton on after that Wigan shit show is the most baffling decision of the season that has been full of baffling decisions made at the top. As Iv'e posted on another thread, we’ve won 9 of our last 43 league games stretching back to the Forest home game last season and with 3 managers at the helm which is quite shocking and it’s little wonder we are where we are!Appleton should have gone after Wigan, leaving a new man to assess his squad during the World Cup break and be prepared for the January window to get the players in to fill the gaps.

Under McCarthy not one of the attacking players in the squad is flourishing, they have all gone backwards and are probably struggling with their roles and are lacking in confidence. These players are good enough but McCarthy is definitely not getting the best out of any of them. You can blame the Board, you can blame Sadler, you can blame Appleton, you can blame the recruitment but the buck stops with McCarthy. No they wouldn't. They're not good enough all over the pitch.
but as Greenall said in commentary if you bring Bowler on then at least get the ball to him. Was it his fault we couldn't even do that? Like I said to those including yourself who said that he should be just an impact player for 20 minutes, that you'd be quick to criticise if he failed to have an impact. Hey presto. Those three were very poor. Might have some skill but application and fitness were poor.
Critch came in halfway through the season at QPR, He had had 2 full seasons with us, Most of the Pool squad had been assembled by him, he would have still struggled this season though if he had stayed because the recruitment has been shocking..Critch struggled at QPR where he had a better squad than Blackpool and left with a similar Championship record to Appleton this season.
That just about sums up this predicament tbh.Relegation is financial suicide for the club, and the town .
