Throwing Missiles

I think it's maybe a misunderstanding, I heard someone shouted rubbish and pointed to the pitch.

Clearly a few lads/kids have got confused and tried to put their empty can or bottle with the rubbish at the front, as per what they thought was the request.

More looking out for the environment rather than anything else.

Move along, nothing to see here.

the fact is that not many people (none in fact) are gonna go down to a steward and say they saw who threw a plastic bottle or whatever and then take said Steward or Policeman up the stairs and to the person who is in there with all his pals. It’s not going to happen.

Nor is anyone going to go up, get the young rascal by the ear and March him down the steps 1970’s Headmaster style….it’s is not going to happen

Blaming fans who have done nothing wrong for the behaviour of others is just nonsense tbh
That’s not necessary. Simply make the steward/policeman aware of who it was. Your not required to go and put your hand on their shoulder!
I dobbed in a racist git, watching PNE away at Brentford. He just got lifted by the Stewards.

I’d definitely throw missiles at you🍊⚽👍

I’ve always wondered how that works like I’m sure you’re telling the truth but what if someone says to a copper, him over there has said something racist would he just get arrested without any evidence ?

It all depends it they tried to throw something at a player to harm them I’d give them the slap they deserve. If they throw a smoke bomb at the corner flag when we score a goal no I wouldn’t.
If they throw a smoke bomb, or whatever, and it hits someone, be it accidental, would you dob them in?

How did you think we did defensively??

Not sure but I made sure the guy on Row W opened his Diet Pepsi carefully as it nearly fizzed up on to the row in front. Could of been carnage.

Proper fan.
Could have been carnage. Wouldn't normally be so pedantic but your example is too trite for words.
For clarification. If you actually did see someone hurling stuff. Would you dob them in?
Yes. Without hesitation. Why do you ask?

If they throw a smoke bomb, or whatever, and it hits someone, be it accidental, would you dob them in?
Why do you care?

I'll never forget, I once saw a clown throw a full pie right into his colleagues face, the poor guy was in bits, didn't see it coming at all, most just laughed and no one grassed him up. 🤡

No it isn't. This needs rooting out and whatever it takes should be done.
Yes it is! To all those referring to closing sections ie the North stand or a block or blocks within the North stand. Quick question - what stand are you in? If your block or stand was closed because of a minority of fans’ unacceptable behaviour. How would you feel? And to avoid any doubt this behaviour does need rooting out, one of the cans landed right in front of us!

Only if as The Cooper looked over he was in “Blackface” singing The Camptown races dressed in a Bob Marley tee shirt with culturally appropriated corn rows smoking a Camberwell Carrot

This is spot on. There is an element of our fan base who don’t like the North Stand. They have been waiting for something to go wrong after last time. Stupidly some knobs have given them the excuse but to make the point further… when there was a racist comment apparently made in the Coventry game from the West, did people want the stand shutting? Sections closed? Was Jaffa demanding that the fans around were responsible? Or did people just say we need to identify the idiot doing it.

It’s the exact same principle here, but it’s not because some people have never really liked the North and the Mucker involvement etc. which in their mind has brought a “Stone Island wearing, drinking, yobbish culture etc”. The reality is, it’s packed the stand out, flags up and brought a brilliant atmosphere, that’s being let down by a very small minority. They are the problem not the Stand.

Too many hypocrites pushing their own personal agenda.

It's up to police and the stewards, its literally their job, although apparently the police service now only recruit budding Christopher Nolans with social anxiety, I've no idea why they're there.

It was just a wank cherry on a shitty cake.

What is odd is seeing a cluster of stewards huddled in the bottom corner chatting to each other when a line of seated stewards facing toward the crowd might actually be useful.
I saw five objects thrown last night. But have absolutely no idea where they actually came from as I was looking in the direction of the pitch. That makes it about 1 in 1000 who need sorting out. The stewards know there is a problem so why aren’t they addressing it?

I don't suppose it's a coincidence that this flippant attitude comes from someone who supports a different club. It doesn't matter much to you, does it?

There's a hooligan element in the North and the club have played there part in it by allowing the Muckers to practically run it. What you're getting is kids trying to play up to the role of being a football hooligan.
Nail firmly on head there 1953. 👍

There is a huge camera on the roof of the north stand and the police in the east recorded the north for pretty much the whole game. It is up to them the stewards and the club to catch the people doing it and ban them. People saying others in the north are just as bad for not catching them are pathetic, like we go and stand there trying to catch people throwing things!!! We go to watch the game.

Fair point, but somebody is stood behind the prat throwing a missile, you don't have to not watch the game to see that.

Also a fair point, but I’ll just add the person directly behind them are probably likely to have a friendly relationship with them and not grass them in.

No, that’s why I was there watching….because I’m not interested and it doesn’t matter to me……nice try though.

I assume it isn’t a coincidence that you have COP as part of your username …….perhaps get some of your colleagues to do their jobs….”Evening All”

No more questions, M’lud.
giro if your pal threw a bottle on the pitch would you tell him he’s a prick and needs not to do it again ? Or would you go down the front and point him out to the police so he gets a banning order ? Serious question.

Fact is some people think the Club is theirs more than it is other peoples. They have an element of Puritanical entitlement about them. I think you’re right about some hating North Stand and it’s raucous atmosphere (the missile throwing is fukcing idiotic btw), big youth element, the fact that plenty have had a bevvy before they attend etc etc………we were all young once, let the lads (and lasses) enjoy themselves……without throwing stuff which will cost the Club inevitably one way or another.

The North Stand create the atmosphere and using the actions of one or two idiots to call for it to be shut down (wanting an empty stand at your own team’s Ground) is frankly bizarre

Just to be clear I am 55, am in no way a hoolie and never have been though I have seen The Football Factory and Away Days and occasionally say “you Muggy **, you’re two Bob!”

I don’t actually have any mates who are that stupid. As I said before, they are responsible for the consequence of their own actions. A banning order might just be what they need to get the message.

I would be bloody annoyed but I would blame the idiots throwing stuff, not the Club. I would also hope to be offered an alternative seat if I asked for it.

I choose not to go in the North because it's not my type of environment. At away games I stay away from the raucous element. However, I don't expect them to be banned or looked down on for being loud and a bit aggressive. It goes with the age and the peer group - that's life. I do draw the line at flares and missiles because they can be harmful: intentionally or not.

No problem 👍

I despair, I honestly do. Spending the best part of three years to rid the club of the O,s by protesting and not seeing my beloved Tangerines has lead to this minority of idiotic cretins taking centre stage and no doubt leading to the club being punished in some way, financially or with points being deducted. I just hope they are proud of themselves.

There’s no excuse for the missile throwing, it’s completely brain dead.

You’re spot on though, it is completely weird for Blackpool fans to want their own stands closed and even weirder for people to say fans in the stand aren’t doing enough to stop it. I do genuinely think the uprising of a younger element of our support has pissed a few of the Last of the Summer Wine cast off too.

Maybe they can run a Neighbourhood watch scheme in Block A - C

‘Don’t just watch the game… take the blame’

“We don’t watch thrown-ins we watch for throwing missiles’

or my personal favourite

‘Lifetime ban for throwing a can’.

We won’t get points deducted. Ever.

It is stupid and cretins is a good word for it but let’s not be dramatic.

This.

They were nowhere to be seen when the club was unfashionable and only rocked up for the good times.

If you throw a lighter at an opposing player can you go to the front after the game and ask a Steward to get it back?

Asking for a friend........
