Toby Sibbick - Hearts offer rejected

Described on Hearts' website as a defender (including wing back), but Google searches suggest he can also play midfield.
West London lad, started at Wimbledon, then 51 appearances for Barnsley when they were in the Championship.
Wiki has him at 6ft2 - we're definitely keen on big lads at the back!
 
I’ve been the corner flag for afternoon tea for my birthday and whilst there. Cameramen we’re in the dugout along with mick McCarthy and a coloured lad having his photo taken and being I terviwed and then a tall white guy ( as tall as McCarthy) having his photo taken and Interview and both of them did handshakes with McCarthy. This looked very much like two new signings to me. Hope I’m right. Got pics but don’t know how to post them on here.

Are you sure it wasn't Terry Connor and Richard O'Donnell as part of MMs first press conference?

If memory serves from his early career he is a right back who has moved to play right CB in a three at Hearts.
 
According to the BBC a bid of £400K has been rejected. A new bid is being tabled however. Apparently he is highly rated by MM. Club therefore might "bust a gut" to get him.
 
Well it won't be Tony Sibbick in Michelle's photo. Daily Record has the bid at over £600k, which is encouraging on one hand but hope we don't end up paying over the odds.

Probably still a low ball bid...doubt very much we will overpay for anyone...although I fear we did for Callum Wright, Dom Thompson and Jake Beesley who all have an awful lot to prove.
 
Funny comment on the Hearts forum about John Stephenson using the transfermarkt website as a guide to bid for players. Sounds about right.

No idea if he's still in the business and having any input though.

Trick with photos is when it gives option to select the photo choose small size (even though weirdly all options are the same size in pixels)

Reading their fans forum they’re likening him to Van Dyke and nicknaming him Sebbeckenbauer. It doesn’t sound like they need the cash and are talking of at least £3m to get him. It’ll be a great signing if we can get him but by the sound of it ………

I think the tall white guy was David Chisnall from Granada reports.
(Is David one of Ian's sons?)
