Totally gutted & distressed today

sorry to hear that. We've got a Jack Russell who is ten who I keep saying won't be a great loss when he goes but I know that really won't be rrue. They really are a massive part of your life and I'd guess your other dog are missing her too.

I have 2 Jack Russells both out of the same litter. We have been very lucky as they have both had very little health problems. However they are both almost 15 years old and are starting to suffer age related conditions eg slight heart and liver problems one of them has cataracts. So I have every sympathy with your loss and am dreading the day when I suffer the same.🥺

I’m very sorry to hear that pal, losing a pet is very painful, it’s like losing a member of your family it is heartbreaking, stay strong 😢

Very sad for you, know exactly how you are feeling. We lost our beautiful border collie
recently (11yrs.) I'm still heartbroken.She was,as your's would have been,a massive part
of the family. You gave her a good life,be proud of that. All the best pal.

The one fantastic thing was I managed to take them both to Wembley for play offs against Cardiff ,stayed at ibis on Wembley way walked them around Wembley a couple of hours before the game ,then they stayed in the room for the duración of the game ,then they went in bar for celebrations after (I will remember my kassi for that as long as I live fantastic to see them in tangerine and white ribbons walking amongst the fans) and gettin attention😪.

Thank you all for your comments (and hope this season is going to be fantastic for all you guys that can go to the games)up the mighty tangerines.

You will be really upset. Will have been a big part of your family. We have a cat. She went missing one time, We were upset with that. Have lost pets previously. I understand how you feel.

Sorry to hear about your little furbaby they become a part of your family and you’ll miss her like crazy. Still miss my boy five years on. May your furbaby find peace over the rainbow 🌈 bridge 💗💗💗💗💗

So sad to lose a pet.
People who don't have pets would probably find it hard to understand but they become part of the family, with their little idiosyncrasies and little personalities.
I honestly don't know what I will do when this day comes for my dog.

You gave her a good life and it seems she didn't suffer.
I know it's difficult but try to keep your chin up...💔

Just lossed one of my dogs died at 11am today 15 minutes before we could say goodbye to her at the vets(only ten years old )seems like liver cancer she was fine on Sunday showing no signs of a problem 😪.
I know how you feel. My youngest dog was 10 too….turns out he had a spleen cancer on an ultrasound that ruptured and had to be put to sleep. He was as bright as a button too. I feel your pain matey.

Really sorry to heart about your Dog, they really are part of the family, I know mine is. He is 13 now and dread the day I know is comming. When I die I want to go where dogs go.

Sorry to hear about your dog Peter., and that you weren't able to say goodbye to her.
As someone has said, be happy for the good life you've no doubt given her, and also that she didn't suffer, as you said she was OK on Sunday.

Once again thanks for all your thoughts (my wife and I are still crying ) have been on and off all day what a great bunch us tangerines are love you all ❤️.

Losing a family dog is the same as losing a member of your family, my mum and step dad had a Boxer who was our family dog and when he was put to sleep a couple of years ago it was heartbreaking for us all. I feel your pain and send my love to you and your family.

We have a four year old cockapoo, he's had a couple of health issues recently, he had an epileptic fit and it was awful seeing him like that. We thought he was dying the first time it happened and rushed him to an emergancy vet, it happened again a few months ago, horrible to see but at least we knew it would pass and how to deal with it.

Money can't buy the loyalty a dog will show you, as long as you look after them they really are a man's (and woman's) best friend.
If you locked your dog and your wife/husband in the boot of the car for an hour and then let them out, which one would be most pleased to see you? I rest my case.

So very sorry to hear this, take solace in the fact that she had a good life with you 😢

I have lost a few of my cats over the years and it tears me up every time. One of them is buried in the back garden. We have four now, we love them so much and they are so loving and loyal, I dread the day one of them goes.......

Love to you and your wife.

We have 4 dogs here so the inevitable is there waiting. I have a Jack Russel, Cherwuffa cross who we were fostering for a doggie rescue, she had been abandoned and was only 14 weeks old when we got her but they found an horrific heart condition so she couldn't be fostered and they asked if we could keep her as she was only going to live for 6 months maximum. Well, she's 8 now and the vets have no idea how she is still here. She is full of beans and a real character. Sadly she has now gone into heart failure so she has had water tablets added to her medication and the vet said she should only have a few months left but who knows with her will to live. That was 2 months ago and she has been fine other than a bit wheezy sometimes. My point is, it is heartbreaking and I feel your loss, but you have given your dog love and happiness for years Peter and you will never forget her.

I feel your pain. Losing any animal is terrible.
Wish they could live for longer as they are so innocent, loving and loyal, and bring so much joy into our lives. Keep your chin up and just be proud that you gave her the best of lives and the kindest passing.

Well last night I had to say goodbye to my beautiful girl Peanut. Her heart failure was getting worse and yesterday she was really struggling, a huge deterioration in just a day (On Friday she came out with me in the van with one of my other dogs and had a great day running around a clients garden) We took to the vets and I thought she was going to die in my arms. They took her in and put her in an oxygen kennel and gave her some diuretics but she was in such distress we had to make the awful decision to put her to sleep.

It was, as it always is, absolutely heartbreaking and saying good bye to her whilst they inject her with anaesthetic is just awful. I was inconsolable and tears are streaming down my face as I type this.

She was such a fighter and she fought to the end but I have to take solace in what I said to Peter back in July, we gave her all the love and happiness in the world and we will never forget her.

I have had to say goodbye to 5 dogs
All red setters over the years.
Thought I would take it easy and downsize to a cocker spaniel, he is harder work than all 5 setters combined.
Would not swap him though.

Sorry to hear that. It's always hard to lose a pet and liver cancer can be unbelievably quick (In people as well as animals). Hopefully that at least meant that she didn't suffer too much.
