Turnstiles, delay kick off

There was always going to be problems. My digital ticket didn't work and what will annoy me more is that the club won't offer any update or advice on how to rectify the problem.
They will just wont communicate again.

Worked fast and perfectly for everyone around me.

Ahead in the queue there were two people who hadn’t even checked their email or downloaded the app which beggars belief.

Technology eh.

I got to yhe car park at 2ish, took me 25 minutes to get a signal to pay.

Got to the turnstiles and then big ques, eventually held phone to the reader as shown, nothing. Tried a couple of times, then turned it around, the opposite way they showed, worked straight away.

I guess different phones have their nfc in different places...

I joined the queue 20 mins before kick off and although I had no trouble with my ticket, others had problems and I missed kick off. I expect things will speed up once people get used to it.

Got to the ground at 1430. Queued up for 2-3 mins & straight in. Only hold up was 2 people trying to scan their email confirmation - steward rapidly removed then from the queue & sorted them out so the queue kept moving

I was stuck behind people trying to get in using their smart phones. They were having difficulty and had to be helped by stewards. Me being an old has been used my plastic card and got straight in.
The club made the excuse of going digital was to speed up entry and promptly charged those who wanted plastic £20. What a con!

I had it all ready on my apple wallet, took about a minute for it to read, fella just waved me in, wasn’t having it at all, couple in front with physical cards worked no issue

Seems you have to process through the gate numbers assigned to your ticket or app download…steward sent two( my friends) to their references saying the system has to recognise the correct gates.
Might be bull shit but who knows.

That was the case with the cards.

I got through the turnstile no slower or quicker by using my digital ticket. I suspect it's people's understanding of the technology that's the problem rather than the technology itself.

Me and 3 more with me all used our phones no problem whatsoever. Guy behind me used his but it wouldn't work until I told him to check his nfc was turned on, it wasn't. I agree with one of the posts above, in a lot of cases it's not the technology, it's the users, but it's a learning curve so shoukd get smoother

I imagine an issue may be that cheaper and older smart phones don't have the ability to communicate via NFC, I know my parents and all their friends in their 70s aren't arsed about the latest technology so are still using iPhone 5's or the android equivalent.
