Outclassed all over the pitch today, could have been 4 or 5 and we couldn't complain. And if we are being honest, it was the same against Bristol last week. Man for man they were just better than us all over the park and had that bit of quality you need at this level, I just hope that isn't going to be the theme for the season. Defensively we were all over the place as well. I don't think I can remember a team getting as many crosses and and winning as many headers in our box as Cardiff did today, it was every single time.
Maxwell great as usual.
Husband and Keogh at the back is not good enough at this level and we will be straight back down with a record low points if that is the plan this season. Husband in particular played the same chipped ball down the line and out for a throw in 4/5 times, needlessly giving the ball away. Luckily we do have other options and I think in a few weeks neither will be in the starting 11.
Connolly is okay, but think we need a bit more of an attacking threat with our wingers being so poor.
Ward and Dougall okay in the middle but we are going to need a bit of something else to help create chances going forward
CJ just isn't up to this level. It may sound harsh and I know he had a good run at the start of last season, but since then I can't remember him offering anything at all. His first touch is awful 100 percent of the time. Anderson really isn't too much better. Lots of underhit/misplaced passes but at least he is trying to get involved. We signed them both from league two, and you can definately tell. The difference between League One and The Championship is massive when compared to League One Vs League Two. Can't really comment on Yates or John-Jules as they have both nothing to work with in two full matches now.
Lavery and Bowler were decent when they came on and probably have to start on Tuesday.
The Coventry game will give us a good indication of where we are at as they will be down the bottom end of the table with us. If we get outplayed and outclassed again then we may need to look at bringing in a few extra bodies in.
Also the fans were fantastic today considering the performance on the pitch.
