Watford Alcohol Ban

Apologies if mentioned elsewhere but I understand that there is no alcohol served in the away end at Vicarage Road. Best get yer fill before the game for anyone planning on drinking.

Not bothered.
Their loss on sales. Mind, it’s probably overpriced crap in a thin plastic pot that gets squeezed and bumped out mostly over me.
Same with the food in most grounds. Pies in Wigan?
I’ll still have to go to the toilet. Is that still free?

Deepdales always been dry for me, I couldn’t bring myself to spend anything ever at that ground, I suppose it’s a bit petty
Not at all. I once went shopping near Deepdale.....if you want petty, here goes...

My little girl (2) wanted a wee just as we'd left the shopping centre.
A quick drive around the corner and I let her do it just where they were building their new stand.

She's almost 18 now and I still chuckle about it....

I've never in 40 years of going to Dumpdale ever spent a penny there......but my daughter has 😁

As others have said I’m sure I’ll manage. A few pints before the game and then straight out on the lash after the game
A couple of hours respite will be good

Never heard this about a football ground in the UK before!
I'm assuming you must be quite young, as it was the norm until not all that long ago.

I remember going down to the Vetch on the coach once (0-0 draw) on a cold, foggy day in December. The conversation with the lad in the kiosk went a bit like this :

Me : Can I have a cup of tea please?

Him : Boiler's broke, no hot drinks.

Me : Cold drinks ?

Him : Coke. Or Fanta.

Me : What pies have you got ?

Him : No hot food either, sorry. I've got Wagon Wheels.

Me : Nothing hot at all? It's taken us five hours to get here.

Him : I can microwave a Wagon Wheel if you like?

:)

I wish l was young again! 😔

Wow

Why hasn't this been on the BBC like those nasty Arabs not serving beer at the World Cup

Weird .....
The difference here Philip is those nasty Arabs backtracked after originally agreeing a deal with Budweiser to supply alcohol for the World Cup.

Of course we all know you knew that though. 😉

Loved the vetch, one of those great old grounds.
Did you go to the 4-4 draw there, when we were 4-2 down on 90 minutes?

Sure did. I remember Khon Kaen Seasiders falling flat on his back and celebrating the equaliser from the prone position. :) The brisk trot to the railway station afterwards was quite lively too.
