Wayne Rooney will quite happily............

Rooney quote. “I would 100 percent take job in League 1. I want to get back into management and I want to prove myself, whether that’s League 2, League 1 or rhe Championship (a bit ironic). It’s all experience- I’m only 38, I’ve had 3 managerial jobs, I’ve got quite a bit of experience with Derby in administration and going out to the United States (DC United). The main thing is to cut out what I’ve done as a player and almost start again as a manager.”
Does that mean he will cut out all the fornication 😂

Anyway, you know what’s coming:-

Considering all the animosity towards Critch and calls for him to be sacked, would you welcome another scouser (without any track record) into the fold if it meant getting rid of Critch. I’m a definite NO.

Fair play for the work ethic but if there was lesson to learn from Birmingham then it sounded like he needed to understand that EFL lads aren't as good as he was as a player and telling them that and that you want to replace them wasn't the best idea.

There probably won’t be any fornication now, he’s almost as old as his ‘auld slappers’ 😉

AKA Colin Hendry syndrome.

I'd have him for the novelty factor, how many could it draw in to watch us with such a well known man in charge. He's got the status and that reach to the casuals and plastics of the town, plus probably players to attract too.

You'd probably have to go the experienced number 2 route though, like the successful combinations that these more inexperienced ex pros go.

For the potential fanbase growth alone it would be interesting and if it worked out as well it could be huge for a club like ours.

Won't happen though, but if not this type, I'd love an exciting manager to be got for once for our next one, not going back again.

Something that would excite the fans and create a buzz, sell tickets, we've really not made the most of what we have as a club and fanbase for most of SS time here, some dull appointments for sure.

I suppose it would be plastic fantastic? Might even see Blood at the games 😉

Yep and IF it worked it could be great, even if it was just for the 1 season, it could help grow the crowd.

But he does look a risk right now tbh given his last appointments.

But you just never know in football who will fit where.

So Klopp for next season then.

Part of that supposed golden generation for the England team who are ending up as shite managers getting jobs because of their name.
Gerrard,Lampard,Neville,Sol Campbell,Rooney even David James managed in India.😁

I’d actually take him to replace critchley, he’ll come good one day just like Holloway did when nobody wanted him , get in a decent number 2 and he’ll attract some good players to come to us , with the bank balance he’s got I doubt he’d command a big wage it’d be more like an opportunity to start again with his managerial career and move on to better things

Give your collective heads a shake. He's a failure as a manager. Football fans have more sense that to turn up just because a celebrity attempts to manage a football team. Whoever appoints him next will be a laughing stock

Oh how I hope it's that lot at the smelly end of the M55.

I would prefer evolution to revolution, and an appointment like Rooney could set back a, club years and saddle us with has beens

I'm not saying we should, just thinking of any upside to having someone of that status, just that pull of a big name is appealing for growing the fanbase.

His credibility is in the bin bit tbh with a strong league 1 squad even an average manager could have us top half I reckon.

NC failed in his last 2 appointments, particularly his last manager role, so it can happen to many.

It would certainly be bold and brave whoever appoints him next, as now is the only time hed get the chance at a club like ours, if he does succeed somewhere thrn hell be looking for more I'd imagine. We don't really make many bold or brave or even risky managerial appointments.

An interesting discussion point, nothing more.

Absolutely not.

For one thing, it becomes a circus, and we have to change the club name to Wayne Rooney's Blackpool, much like Joey Barton's Fleetwood etc.

Our manager must be above average then😉

Critch worked at Liverpool. He isn't a scouser. He's from Crewe.

Another Scouser? I can only really think of Terry McPhillips in my lifetime.

Holloway had had success with Plymouth before he came here, it's just unfortunate that he decided to take the doomed Leicester role in November 2007, Plymouth were 5th at the time.

List A
Alan Ball
Steve McMahon
Colin Hendry
Paul Ince
or
List B

Billy Ayre
Simon Grayson Mk1
Ian Holloway
Neil Critchley Mk1

Does anyone know what happened to the guy who gave his season ticket back when Ollie was appointed. Ollie even went round to see him to try and talk him round but it still didn't work. The equivalent of losing a jackpot winning lottery ticket, I don't think he'll get a job telling fortunes on the Golden Mile.
