Who is owed money by holiday firms?

Got email from Jet2 apologising for not pay deposit as part of the full refund keep an eye out for it folks. 👍

Jet2 were brilliant with us - full refund, and cheerful with it.
I’ll let my festival and gig tickets* slide, these are desperate times for venues and fest organisers, if my money helps in some small way they’re welcome to it.
* if the gig’s rescheduled I’ll go.

...or go all chargeback on their sorry arses. I have with Ryanair.
Thats what I have done with Lufthansa, Holiday Extras, Easyjet & Ski Independence, Totalling over £7k, would love to be in the room when they realise the rug has been pulled out from under them. No sympathy, I rang, emailed many times getting cut off, put on hold ignored & lied to, some of them had money back from hotels etc & not passed it back, as I said earlier, they wouldn't have been so "understanding" if I had delayed payment to them, in Lufthansa's case, they had in effect a £3k loan interest free for over 12months..... I like many above have spent way too much time on the phone, listening to messages telling me my call is important to them, in some cases for over an hour, to then be cut off..

We booked a ‘holiday of a lifetime’ to Disney in Florida in August and cancelling that is proving an absolute nightmare. Because it’s open, we are struggling to get compensation and refunds from anywhere!!

I've four or five festival, theatre and gig tickets that are still valid for the rearranged date. I've just let them ride.
I couldn't roll over to next year as I can't go next year for personal reasons. I just want my 600 quid back and it fucks me off I have to wait up to 3 months when I paid them in full last August

We all understand cash flow issues but there's a legal obligation to refund where an alternative isn't satisfactory. Threaten the legal card.

Or better still do a chargeback, I'd love to be in their offices when they realise, you have whipped the rug out from under them, no sympathy, as they are getting an interest free loan from their customers....

I've lost out on four Ryanair flights to Seville for a 5 day break - circa £500

The flight went on Wednesday so no cancellation

Of course we couldn't go due to the lack of insurance and the quarantine rules as they stand

Thought I could claim on insurance however they will only let me claim for mine not all four as my mates reimbursed me so they have to claim off their own insurance

Off that they knock off the airport taxes as apparently Ryanair should refund if I didn't board - yeah right

And then the £75 excess

If I could be bothered to provide all the evidence they needed I might have got £20 back 🙄

Sacked it off

I've got several bookings I'm in the process of claiming refunds for.

Ryanair have refunded the first, somewhat of a surprise.

SAS I'm having to claim back from my credit card company under Section 75.

I've lost a few hundred for a stay in Portugal due to the owner of the hotel not allowing me to reschedule or a refund, I will have to see what my travel insurance company can do.

Last I have had the misfortune of using TravelUp, who are processing refunds but within 8 weeks! They received the refund from cancelled flights in May but are stalling on passing that back to me. On top of that they are subtracting an illegal £50 admin fee.

I feel for those who have many thousands wrapped up in all these issues.

is it not a package then? I.e. bought together even though maybe different companies? The definition of linked travel was widened recently.

Finally got a refund from Lufthansa today, the flight was cancelled about 20th April, they claimed to have made a refund on 6th June and to allow 14 business days for it to hit my account.

Just a thumbs up for anyone awaiting Jet2 refund - due to go to Turkey 13th August - they emailed me Wednesday to advise it was cancelled and I got my full refund (a few k) after a quick phone call yesterday - very relieved and very painless.

Was listening on the wireless, a lot of people owed thousands. Can't help feeling a lot of these firms will cease trading.
I'm owed £2k by P&O cruises and £200 by booking.com, after what I heard this morning I've got off light.
I am owed 2000 from Ryanair. Don’t answer call and keep fobbing me off with vouchers. Not a great company to deal with. It’s just a waiting game for me.

My Lufthansa flight was cancelled mid March, for a 4th April flight, still got nothing, apart from another email offering for me to rebook, I did a chargeback on them that they haven't realised yet...

Easy jet cancelled my flight outbound for tomorrow but haven't cancelled my inbound flight next Saturday ,6 in the party got £4.99 each back , you just can't make this up
Can't get hold of any one so I will disputes with the credit card company

Have you told Lufthansa you want a refund? I phoned them, they said I could have a voucher, I declined and asked for a refund, they said it would take 10 weeks, and it has arrived pretty much to the day.

As for chargeback, I lodged one with Barclaycard in March for a cancelled trip to Italy, not had anything from them other than a couple of messages saying they have unprecedented demand and it will take longer to investigate.

Flights, hotel and 15 match tickets refunded for Düsseldorf. Seville in June, hotels refunded, but awaiting money from Ryan Air and car hire company amount to £800.

Just owed money from booking.com now.
They told me last week to file an S75 with my credit card company, if the CC company pay subject closed, if they refuse I've to send the S75 rejection to booking.com and they'll reimburse me.
What a crock of shit. This fiasco has been going on since 9 March.

Forgive my ignorance but I didn't realise so many people had been messes around, were waiting for refunds, etc, etc.

I hope everybody gets what they want and with as little hassle as possible, nobody deserves the treatment described in the thread,

Good luck all but you shouldn't have been put in the position that some of you find yourselves in, just not good enough.

My original flight back to the UK has now been rebooked for July 31st. Only problem is that Gulf Air are not operating flights to and from Bangkok, so that's a concern. Still awaiting refunds for other flights back I booked, so that's over three months waiting. Have received a couple of emails that more or less say I should be happy they've now acknowledged the issue. In the mean time I'm paying out for accommodation, electric and water bill's as well as having to eat out as have no cooking facilities. Another worry is my travel insurance is no longer valid as I've exceeded my 60 day limit.

I’ve got a flight booked with Easyjet to Portugal end September and a hotel booked separately, not as a package. Notwithstanding yesterday’s somewhat bizarre decision to exclude Portugal from the current list of destinations to travel to free from quarantine, the dilemma l may face booking it this way is that EJ may cancel the flight close to the travel date due to a reduced schedule based on lack of demand. At this point l will have paid for the hotel in full and I’m not sure if these costs are recoverable or not 🤔

I have told lufthansa many times after hours on the phone, emailed multiple times, they keep emailing asking if I want a voucher, it's way past 10 weeks (over 3months now) and nowt.. However when I did an online form with barclays, & the money was in my account within a week, they do say the retailer can argue the toss, but surely it is an open & shut case..... This thread does highlight the disparity people are suffering

I'm pretty sure they'll add Portugal to the list of countries in the next couple of weeks.
We're thinking about going in September once they approve travel.

I got hacked off waiting for booking.com to reimburse me for a hotel that had gone belly up so I raised an S75 with Nationwide my CC provider, that was on 4 June.
A week or so later they asked me for confirmation of the booking and proof that booking.com hadn't compensated me which I duly sent.
They've rung me again today asking for further extraneous and frankly irrelevant information that I'm not sure I've got about the hotel going bust.
Think they're deliberately stretching these claims out until the customer either goes away or strings themselves up.
Shambolic behaviour by Nationwide.

Fargo... Should I know you under this username or did you tell me under an old one... Heardy.

Got the deposit from jet2 as a credit note and immediately put it to next year's holiday instead. Painless overall so can't grumble.

Seems a lot are still having issues though... hope you all get sorted!

I taught you to play football on Back Dorchester Rd when you were a nipper.😀
Bloody hell I spent thousands of hours banging footballs against back gates in that alley... Harwin Guest house we owned if you remember.... You must be a worldy if you taught me bud 😁😁😁😁😁
