Wrexham away and the PNE arse streaker

Just been sat here and a memory popped into my head from many moons ago when we went to Wrexham away and a lad streaked on the pitch and had PNE painted on his back with an arrow pointing to his arse.

Who remembers this and more importantly who was the hero and what happened to him that day

I remember it well. It wasn't even his first streak of the day!! 🤣 I know his name but will spare his blushes ...every credit it to him, was hilarious at the time!!! The message on his back read "PNE are" with an arrow pointing down to the crack of his arse lol!!!!

Yeah that’s right, I actually heard that he was on a coach on the way down and did a practice run in a field when they stopped.

Absolutely brilliant.

Yes you’re right it did say “PNE are” and then the arrow to his arse.

He did indeed do a practice run!! Lol. There was a sort of corn field at the back of the pub we'd stopped at, and I think the idea was born there 😂

I was at the game as a kid and think we lost 2-1 and if I remember rightly when Wrexham had a goal kick in front of the Blackpool fans a fan ran on the pitch and scored, great day out

Yes, ‘97. Needed a win to have a chance of the play-offs. Didn’t get it, but a fun day out in the sun nonetheless

Remember it very well.

I was stood there in the stand and all of a sudden a guy took his clothes off about 2m away.

Funny as…..

Step forward Ronald Norman Mott. Long time season ticket holder and upstanding pillar of the community 👍

There was a photo in the Gazette of a copper leading him away with his helmet covering his helmet 😆😆😆

Not a regular poster but I’m on here reading everyday !

Had to jump on this post as some good memories of this day. Think it was last game of the season.

1. Remember the old coach with no toilets taking us to the game . There was a guy at the back a little intoxicated and needing to pee into a bottle then placing the said bottle on the shelf above . Bottle rolled down the bus as the guy hadn’t put the top on correctly . You could see the odd drip all the way to the front row......

2. Tony Ellis got sent off for an elbow .

3. The streaker .

4. Players in the tangerine nightspot after the game . Had a chat with Chris Malkin in there . His words were “I apologise for not being able to play this season a lot , but I guarantee you I will be fxxxxxg flying next season.......” Never saw him again.

I remember the stadium announcer after the streaker saying something like "It just goes to show there is always one idiot!" To much laughter.

I'm sure Malkin scored too? He definitely had a good game. A frustrating game for sure. We were locked in the car park for an hour or so and all the Wrektum fans were loving taking the mick. 🤬 Think the result we were waiting on was Crewe?

I remember that, he was actually sat in front of us before he ran on the pitch. I also remember the queue for the u16s turnstile was massive that day, there were some blokes in their 30s and 40s walking through the turnstile, no questions asked. 🤦‍♂️ 😝

Yep remember it well. Was there with my young son on the front row of the upper stand. We purchased a picture from the gazette as we could see ourselves and all the away end. Remember Tony Ellis got sent off as he had had enough of being elbowed himself all the game. Remember the streaker and then somebody hitting a ball in the net. There was a minutes silence just before kick off and somebody just below us trumped really loudly we all fell about the place. Only issue waiting 2 hours to get off the car park. Great day even though we lost

I was there with an 11 year old son of a work colleague so had to be on good behaviour. Anyway, I was driving. For me it wasn't a great day.

Remember it well. I also know who it was. But like other poster will spare their bushes. After all it's about 25 years ago!

My memory is that Ellis got sent off after about five minutes. Seem to think the ref was Uriah Rennie too. There again, i could be getting confused with a home game.

I’m sure I read on the old AVFTT many years ago that he got paid to do it by the lads on his coach to do it.

After he got arrested they waited for him to get let out before setting off home.

Funniest thing I’ve seen at a game ever, that photo captures it all, even police and stewards laughing at the guy with the random sombrero! 😂

What a day. We were playing one man coupies in the car park before the game. They're must have been 200 of us playing and someone gave away a penalty, 199 penalties had to be taken😂

Also remember they had to open the terraced area of the stand because of the amount of Blackpool fans that turned up.

The woman in front of me had a stroke. Her friend said she tried to have one too, but he was running too fast 🤣🤣
