In fairness Beasley had no service today (same for the forwards most of the season). He needs a run of games and we need creative midfielders, then hopefully he'll score goals next season. The front men whether Yates or Lavery need service, they haven’t been getting any for the majority of the season. Critch needs to sort it out for next season. I don’t think Beasley is the answer either.
He had no service today I was hard pushed the think of one decent ball to him that he could have made a chance out ofStrikers thrive on service....we have very little service...
He was probably in a state of shock that a weighted through ball had been played to him, and in his direction.Mariette played a lovely through ball to Jerry, who was too slow to react and kind of stumbled over it before falling over.
Whose a clever boy then?I forecast last September that Yates was not good enough to succeed in the championship and that he would not get even half the number of goals (18) that he scored in league one last season much to the astonishment of quite a few on here. I was told I was talking rubbish by quite a few .I continued to express that opinion despite receiving much flak by Jerry`s fan club on here who thought I was mad to think he would score less than half his tally last season.
He has ended up with just 8 goals!!! Yes just 8 and that helped by three penalties and don`t give me the sob story about a lack of playing time .He had many opportunities over the season and Critchley rightly concluded like me that as a striker he just wasn`t delivering and so did not deserve to be picked unlike the many myopic football fans on here..
In fact one poster said last September or early October that he would bookmark my forecast and come back to it at the end of the season.
WELL I`M WAITING.
His record at Rotherham in the Championship was 47 appearances and 2 goals. He was I think released by Rotherham when they were in the Championship having been on the fringes and then had that good season for Swindon in League 2.
They would seem to have reached the same conclusion as we have.

If you look at the below there is not much between our front three, so why single out Jerry. If Jerry is not a Championship player then Lavery and Madine are ? sorry to piss on your bonfire.

See below/You are not pissing on any bonfire.I simply forecast way back then that Yates would not score even half the the number of goals in the Championship that he scored in league one

Jerry has suffered for the lack of regular games. You could tell yesterday that he simply doesn't have the match sharpness that a run of games gives you. He more than others needs that.Calm down Ian Chisnall.
Agree. Don’t think the rotation helps Lavery or Yates & must be frustrating that when they are scoring they then find themselves on the bench.Jerry has suffered for the lack of regular games. You could tell yesterday that he simply doesn't have the match sharpness that a run of games gives you. He more than others needs that.
If he doesn't then he ends up with poor touches. You can see the intent but that sharpness gained through regular starts simply isn't there.
Goal and assist stats for minutes on the pitch will be just as bad or worse for Madine and Lavery, I wouldn't single Yates out as not good enough, are any of them?I forecast last September that Yates was not good enough to succeed in the championship and that he would not get even half the number of goals (18) that he scored in league one last season much to the astonishment of quite a few on here. And the defending is several notches higher.I don't care what you say, strikers thrive on service and this season the balls delivered into the box have been appalling. Over hit or under hit crosses. This is something that can be worked on on the training pitch for some reason has been neglected.
Beesley had a poor game yesterday. Lost virtually every battle; never held the ball up; and, is off the ball movement was either very poor or Misjudged. Still a lot of work to do on him.Not sure how you can say Beesley is not ghe answer ,how many times we seen him and on those meagre pickings the lad has done well
As for Yates he's still a good player but has struggled in this league
Of course a proven goalscorer (20 a season) is always great to have, but that needs to be considered against how much they usually cost and the budget we have to work within. The biggest issue that has held back both Yates and Lavery this season is the need to play Gaz Mads consistently because we’re soft in the air if we don’t.I think all of them are probably good enough to be our 2nd or support striker and would chip in with a few but none of them are good enough to be our main striker.
Take home from that - we need a proven goalscorer and to get one I'd cash in the two most valuable of the 4 if we can and keep the other two whoever that may be as there really isn't much difference in them
