Blackpool v Middlesborough Official Matchnight Thread 29.12.21

I haven't been score predicting of late. Perhaps that's why we're suffering a bit (or it could be bollocks). Anyway, I'm looking forward to a strong performance and a 3-1 to the 'Pool.

Bit concerned to read on the Boro website that they played really well on Boxing Day versus Forest. Would settle for a point 1-1.

Really worried about this game - Middlesbrough have bounced well with new manager Wilder and have a lot of very good youngsters playing well at the moment. Wilder is an excellent manager and has gelled this squad extremely well, they are ment to be playing some really good stuff, I expect them to be in the top 6 come May. Hope it's an entertaining game, the atmosphere should be brilliant as they'll bring plenty - would settle for a draw but I fear the worse unfortunately with our Christmas curse.

I'm all for carrying on and playing, normally, but I'm hoping this game will be called off now tbh. It would no doubt do us good to break and get some players fit again, re-group, and maybe even sign some players before we play Boro in a re-arranged fixture. Carey's loss means we are painfully short in midfield. But it remains to be seen who might return before tomorrow night I guess. If Wintle returns we can can put a decent side on at the start, but we would be very short on the bench. As things stand.

Just go absolutely soaked just running from the car 10 yards into an electricians. Forecast to stop by lunchtime.

With it being 22.45 kick off my local time, anyone had success of managing to watch the full replay on TTV the next day?

Just rang the ticket office and they didn’t know if the players had been tested today or not. They need to make an announcement before 12 otherwise it’s rather unfair for the travelling exiles & away fans. 🙄

Someone on Boro site reckoned was at Pool training ground where they all received a test at 9 am.
Tent in car park.

Surely around noon will be the deadline barring a disaster.

Whatever make shift squad we put out tonight the players deserve 100% support regardless of performance or result. It’s looking likely a few of these lads will be making competitive debuts, playing at a level much higher than they previously have done and playing with team mates without having had any real time on the training ground. It wouldn’t surprise me if a few are playing with knocks too.

Other clubs would have called the game off but we didn’t. We win tonight regardless of the result. We’re a proper club going about our business the right way. Credit to the hierarchy. Hopefully other clubs follow suit. Certainly shows these premier league whinge bags up for what they are !

Agree with you especially getting behind the team from start to finish.

We need to get behind the team from the start. Lets do our job and I'm sure the lad's will respond.

Middlesbrough 2nd best form team in the Championship over the last 5 games where as we are 2nd worse 😟.

Can only say we are showing a lot of naivety playing this game when few questions would have been asked if we had asked to call it off.

Can only see a thumping tonight and with us going into the Hull game in 3 days (if it's on) with them not playing again today I can see this Christmas period being worse than most and that is saying something when it comes to Blackpool FC.

Really hope I am wrong

Don’t worry, we’ll pass it along the defence, pass it to the midfield or wing, they’ll pass it back, the defenders will pass it back to the goalkeeper, who will hoof it up to Shane, or Jerry. Their giants will win it and we start again. Half way through the second half, they’ll be exhausted and we will score.

Where’s wintle , is he covid victim
worried he has returned back to Cardiff and Neil is not plsying him to get use to him not being there

Had the sniffles today but feel ok. Randomly took a covid test before leaving for the game. Positive. Gutted. Be loud Be proud tonight. UTMP

There’s actually 6 center backs playing lol
wondering if pool to play wing backs , husband and sterling are the wing backs

Looks like a 5-3-2

Grimshaw
Sterling - Marv - Keogh - Viking - Hubby
Dougall - Connolly
Anderson
Yates - Madine

What the actual feck is that line up?

6 defenders and the keeper!!

How are we planning on scoring and what about the midfield? Are we expecting Viking to play in midfield? Connolly to get forward?

Why couldn’t we just replicate the last match line up and swap Carey & Gabriel?!

Baffled and not impressed
