New What we all watching / recommendations thread?

Watched ep2 and found myself shouting at the telly at the end if it.

The woman on a bus = all that's wrong with society.

I've commissioned, lead and been the subject of, numerous investigations over the years in line of work and whilst I'm content with the use of independent reviews, ep 2 where the police shared the footage with, who I assumed were some community advisors, really did show a lack of understanding of the challenges faced and displayed a pre determined bias.
me too and am furious the woke met paid her compo its scandelous and appeasing the race baiters

Just finished One Day on Netflix. Kept it true to the book, adapted well to TV and very well acted.

I would definitely recommend, but is quite emotional

Bit of an update: Watched Griselda on the recommendations here and it was great, what a horrible woman!

Just started watching the latest season of Fargo on Amazon and that is back to it's best, up there with the first season so far.

Put Boarders on the other night and that's decent too.

The new Shogun series on Disney is getting rave reviews but haven't started it yet.

Just finished Jack and Alice which being a romantic i enjoyed. Pretty much the same theme as One Day so if you enjoyed that give it a go.

The Rescue, on BBC2 last Sunday.

Documentary on how 12 boys & their football coach were saved from that flooded Thai cave a few years ago by an international effort led by an unlikely crew of amateur cave divers who were essentially weekend hobbyists.
A thoroughly compelling and inspiring watch, and a testament to the power of humanity.

I thought this programme was very well done, uplifting even. It's always difficult for a film-maker to build tension when the outcome is known to be good news, but this documentary succeeded in doing just that.

Started to watch 'The 100' and found it very enjoyable.

You've got to be committed though as its 100 episodes...we're half way at the mo.

Also started The Last Airbender which shows some promise.

Enjoyed this. Needed to get past the initial perceptions of Alice as she was horrible - but there's reasons for that. 👍

Watched Dune 2 at the cinema last night.
Was long, but didn’t feel like it.
Excellent sequel. For anyone who likes epic, interesting, weird sci-fi.
Going to be a long franchise if they work through all the books. 😬
See it on the biggest screen or nearest imax. 😜

I read the trilogy really enjoyed them, but struggled with Children of Dune. Looking forward to the 2nd movie.

Probably been recommended before, but I started ‘Banshee’ a week ago.
Absolutely loving it. Lots going on, raunchy and bloody.

One Day didn’t cut it for me. I didn’t feel the chemistry between the 2 main actors at all. I’ve read the book years ago and enjoyed that but this production just felt very cheesy to me.
The main actor however is in the second series of White Lotus. Now White Lotus is very good indeed if you haven’t seen that. Really good 👌

Just started Guy Ritchie's The Gentleman series on Netflix, enjoying it so far but not as good as the movie yet.
Binge watched it over the last 2 nights and it got better and was really really good, especially if you like Guy Ritchie Gangster stuff, bit of all his old films in it and a really good ending. Second season is on the cards too.

Got to be the next James Bond in this too.

Watched Inglorious Basterds on Netflix last night, ye, I know, 15 years behind. I have to psyche myself up to Tarantino’s movies.
Not his best and not his worst. Got to the end, so for a 2.5 hour movie that’s a good sign for me.
Some great acting, particularly Christopher Waltz.

Is that any good Glass ?

Quite enjoying it. Mrsg is probably
more impressed with it than I am to be fair. It’s branded as a sort of black comedy, I’d say more dark than funny to be honest, but happy to stick with it. Nearly finished the first series.

Waltz' performance is one of the best bit of acting you will ever see. Incredible. Bi-lingual and bloody sinister. I really like the movie and I'm not really a Tarantino fan.
