New What we all watching / recommendations thread?

I’ve just started Sex in the City 😲

Passed me by like most things during my child rearing years.
Enjoying it 👍

Watched Saltburn on Prime Video last night. A bit like an extended version of an Inside Number Nine (Reece Shesrsmith is in it).
Pretty weird, I quite enjoyed it but mrsg not impressed.

I didn't think it was half as shocking as some made it out to be.

Not a bad film but parts of it did annoy me a bit. Won't say for spoiler reasons

Just finished Fool Me Once. As above, Michelle Keegan is very good and easy to look at. A bit chaotic like Critchley's formation but kept interested throughout.

I thought Barry Keoghan (aged31) looked too old to portray a first-year student at university. A younger actor would have been more believable.
Agree with that. They then tried to age him after he'd left Saltburn when he met up with whatshisfaces mum in the cafe. It just didn't work

I suppose you can look past that and the other irritants and take it for what it is.

Watched Fool Me Once, with Michelle Keegan on Netflix. I say watched loosely.

Bloody awful. Michelle Keegan playing Michelle Keegan again. 8 episodes with a plot that requires no more than one episode.

Why didn't anyone tell me about Designated survivor? Awesome series on series 1 episode 5 now, loving it....

I have to share this movie recommendation. It's well under the radar but it's called RRR on Netflix.
It is so hard to describe but I'll give it a go. It's an action packed Indian drama revolving around two revolutionaries. It's gripping from the start, it's brutal in places, it's funny, it's absolutely bizarre at times, it's emotional, sad, relevant and poinant with a touch of Bollywood thrown in for good measure. It's a long movie but don't let that put you off. One of the best films I have seen in years.
Please give it a go and I would welcome your views.

finished series 3 of Slow Horses. Didn't grip me as much as the first two series but Gary Oldman is brilliant. Great script writing.

I’m enjoying Mr Bates vs the Post Office on ITV.

It’s very well made, and also shocking at the same time. The Post Office management have a lot to answer for.
You made me watch it and very good it was too.
Not watched anything on normal telly for years apart from footy.

Just watched the first episode of Cradle to Grave on ITVx with Peter Kay playing the father of the young Danny Baker, set in the 1970’s.
OMG, comedy gold. Wet my sides laughing at the end of e1 when the young Danny goes to the theatre with his sister to see a nude play and the cast come down the isle dancing to music and Danny (sat on an aisle seat) gets slapped in the face by the male dancers manhood.
Nostalgic, very funny and the genius that is Peter Kay who manages to have an argument with the pet tortoise 😂

Edited to say Baker
