cardiff are big, physical, energetic and completely agricultural. it really needs bowler and lavery have them nipping around those huge cardiff defenders like like hyenas around giraffes.

cardiff play to their exact strengths, long balls to very tall strikers. we are lucky to be still at 0-0. thought this would be a tough one, still think we will win it though

We can be creative and full of ideas but we need more strength to compete in midfield. Getting bullied.

Apparently you can’t criticise the bizarre starting selection. The lack of attacking threat or the fact Ekpiteta is still on bench against their giants. Mick has sussed us out. Not even allowing us to play out from Maxwell. Far too easy for Cardiff. NC needs to change it ASAP before we are chasing the match.
 
not the best 1st half for us.....NC needs to make some changes 2nd half. For me, Cardiff were the better side first half, a lot more chances! We certainly lack height up front - well, all over the pitch to be fair.

But you get those players on the pitch and suddenly we have them on the back foot where they’re uncomfortable.
 
I think I'm going to have to bring a cushion to hide behind whenever we have a goalkick.

We don't, but at least do the basics. Marv needed for his height at the back, and we need to run at this back line - lavery and bowler would do that based on recent games.
 
Critchley needs to start the men in for form...I Agree..Lavery..Bowler..Carey should have started from the off.Hope he doesnt leave it till the last 15 minutes to make changes.

How the hell can Critchley not see it needs changing? Hopefully Calderwood will give him a bell and tell him what to do.

Some players can make the step up and some can't as we're finding out...Hamilton and JJ for example?
 
Don't really get what the game plan is, but I thought we looked very similar (physically outmatched, long-balls to noone) against Bristol City until we made changes, Bowler and Lavery need to play. Regardless though, it's one game - disappointing but it's a long season.

Absolutely this.

I said before the season started that you need muscle in midfield to compete in this division.
Without the midfield getting hold of the ball our defence is going to be under pressure for most of the match.

It's not even one game, its less than an hour. It's a tough league.

Ref is a cock. given us nothing. Ward having a much better second half!! Dougall has been knackered this half, unsurprisingly.

This game would have suited Madine & Simms up front.
