Bet you'd wish that you'd seen some of the great Pool players of the halcyon days, on a different level to those here now.Bet you called morty shit

And here's your problem old man. Your stuck in the past.Bet you'd wish that you'd seen some of the great Pool players of the halcyon days, on a different level to those here now.
So did I, but I think he needs to be careful. Had to laugh when he got revenge on that headbanded centre back of theirs for giving Anderson a shove , causing him to put a hole in the advertising hoardingsi kind of like his aggressiveness - its part of his game
An old fool maybe, but not a coward like yourself. And here's your problem old man. Your stuck in the past.
Get over yourself. And get back up oyscums arse you pathetic old fool
It's early doors. They'll improve.Bet you'd wish that you'd seen some of the great Pool players of the halcyon days, on a different level to those here now.
Yep agree with that. Pressure if the first home match to deal with aswell with a new team.I said before last saturday that I wouldn't be too elated if we won, too content if we drew, nor too down if we lost. The only down would have been a tonking.
Today could have been that tonking, but it wasn't. We will need afew more games to put any context on this result, but in truth it was Men v Toddlers.
Bring on The Cov- a win and we'd all have taken 4 from 3.
the thing about it is, teams like Cardiff go up and come down, just a like slick footballing teams like Holloway’s that aren’t strong enough to get automatic but can win playoffs. The end results are the same mostly unless you pull off a Burnley. Can't add much. Costero used the exact word I was going to. Cardiff aren't a good team, they're an efficient one. Very very efficient, and really well set up and drilled to deal with what we offered for much of the game.
Games like this always ask an interesting question, how much as a supporter are you prepared to concede in terms of entertainment versus results. Cardiff will 99.9% certain finish above us this year, and as others have said will be near the top.
Personally I couldn't face watching a team of oversized, well drilled linebackers every week, and I'm glad McCarthy isn't our manager. But if winning at any cost of entertainment is what one wants, then he's the man for the job, and good luck to all of them. While you're winning games, there's no (justifiable) comeback, once you're losing you'll be gone quick.
Not sour grapes, we should have lost today by more than we did. Just glad it's out the way and we can go again against other teams. Looking forward to Cov already.
I wouldn't want to watch that shit either. Hopefully we will improve and take them apart at their place. Wouldn't be that surprising! Can't add much. Costero used the exact word I was going to. On what basis do you talk. Are you even allowed out of the rest home nowadays? An old fool maybe, but not a coward like yourself.
True. In the make of their manager. If Cardiff did Shithousery lessons, I'm in... Cos they were masters, I watched their no 4 & 5 off the ball & they were showing their. Mastery of the art all afternoon
I was thinking that as well. As much as I think they might go up playing this kind of agricultural football, once in the premier League they try and change but neither the manager nor the players can change overnight, even when they spend big on foreign imports. So they end up with some weird hybrid game. But they are not very good at the proper football and their agricultural style is weakened by trying to intermittently play. Result manager sacked and relegation. Stoke managed to stay in the PL playing like that because they had no ambition beyond a lower mid table finish every year. Today didn't work for us but we'll get better.Yep agree with that. Pressure if the first home match to deal with aswell with a new team.

At half time I was thinking "how can we play against this and are we ready for the Championship?" But we did do better second half, and we aren't yet sorted in defence, midfield or attack. We need improvement without a doubt but we don't need to mimic that, we just need to learn how to deal with it and find the way to create the platform to play our own game.the thing about it is, teams like Cardiff go up and come down, just a like slick footballing teams like Holloway’s that aren’t strong enough to get automatic but can win playoffs. Here here. We've been so lucky over the years, I know there's been exceptions but generally I've been fortunate to watch teams trying to play football, with varying success. At half time I was thinking "how can we play against this and are we ready for the Championship?" Cardiff fan here.Bad day at the office
Do not think Cardiff were more skillul but they were streetwise in how far to push fouls wothout getting penalised.
Hopefully lessons learned, I was most disappointed with our passing and crossing, if Garbs is our dead ball specialist, I think he needs to practice more.
I might put a bet on we beat Cardiff at their place, as they had easy 3 points to night, but remember a Ipswich at home last season being a wake up call
I think your last sentence is spot on, though I did think in the second half we had the better quality on the ball. We just lack the guile and the physical presence.Cardiff fan here.
We were not at full strength at all today missing a couple of players and the likes of Moore who scored 20 goals last season Murphy and Colwell who are getting back to fitness. Murphy who cost us £11m and never got on! fully expect all 3 to start the next games and when we play you at ours all 3 are shoe ins to be starting. Tomlin is injured along with two CB’s and another striker. We have depth and physicality, that’s what’s needed in this division. You looked too lightweight and were bullied all game. I’m sure you’ll adapt.
don't know about your missing players but your summary of the game is spot on. You bulled us all over the park. My fear is we haven't got the players to adapt. That said I doubt there's a team as physical as you in the division. It was a harsh wake up call for the team and fans today. The physical teams will turn us over comfortably and the good football teams will beat us easily too with their pace and movement. What we need to do is compete and beat the teams who are a mixture of both.Cardiff fan here.

A target man maybe. But you can beat those teams without them. It was in midfield we lost it, we got over powered like we did last week, and our struggle to defend throw ins too.don't know about your missing players but your summary of the game is spot on. Some people on this thread could clearly see the problems we had. It wasn't being negative, it was just stating it as it was. OL clearly couldn't.
And Voy, we desperately missed a target man today.
Reported, discrimination. When will that be do you need to check with your care provider when they are free?
Think you're overstating the case. We just aren't quite ready to deal with what Cardiff threw at us. We could have snook a draw today, but it would have been fortunate, and starting with those players you mention wouldn't have addressed the problems we faced, I think. We got physically beaten up, those 4 wouldn't have changed that.Mick McCarthy probably thought it was his birthday when he saw Lavery, Bowler, Carey, Ekpiteta on the bench. He will have watched us midweek. Played right into Cardiff’s hands.
Need to wise up for Tuesday.
We will improve and we will be better than them. They did good throw ins, fouled a lot and the ref did nowt. They deserved to win but let's not glorify their performance. Sort ourselves out a bit and we can go down there and beat them. No question.Just loved the attitude of Lavery when he came on. Squaring up to their giant defenders..showing bravery and desire.. looking for the ball and trying to make things happen. A bright spark in an otherwise damp squib of a performance. We looked like the naive new boys whereas they looked like they are.. an organised well established Championship club.

Non but at least compete! We don't attempt to attack until we are a goal down every game including Wembley, we need to be more positive from the start. We’ve just been promoted what right do we have to win or play well every match?
spot on ... we lacked desire and quality on the ball. Lavery and Bowler just go for it - we need that. Anderson and Hamilton woeful, Husband seemed weak too. Gotta beat big players with tricky football, we bottled it.Just loved the attitude of Lavery when he came on. Huddersfield and Posh. Our first season in the champ back in 07-08, we finished 19th with big ben as our top scorer with 9 goals.... if we can do it then with those players then we can definitely do it now with a better team and a better manager!
Derby and the nobbers will finish below us, just gotta make sure there's a 3rd team below us as well! Poventry maybe? This game on Tuesday is almost a must win as they are a team we should definitely be looking at coming out on top against.
Abusive comment reported.Fuck off.
Hull are potentials as well.Huddersfield and Posh.
Yes. These teams are at a similar level but I believe we will improve more than at least 3. That may turn out to be too optimistic, we don't have the funds to buy our way up the Championship table, L1 was much more straight forward, but I think we will do enough to stay up. We are not at full strength yet with the players we have and haven't finished bringing players in either. And we will learn and adapt.Hull are potentials as well.
There's definitely enough teams that are weaker than us, and with less spirit.
I honestly think our 2007/8 side was more skilful going forward and stronger defensively than yesterday's team. Our first season in the champ back in 07-08, we finished 19th with big ben as our top scorer with 9 goals.... if we can do it then with those players then we can definitely do it now with a better team and a better manager!

I would agree with yesterday's team yes, but his selections have been a bit strange tbh.I honestly think our 2007/8 side was more skilful going forward and stronger defensively than yesterday's team.
Money, hopefully.I can t understand why we have replaced Thorniley with Keogh.
Think you spelt memories incorrectly
