Blackpool v Luton Town Official Matchday Thread 05.11.22

Did anybody bother to ask Bullshit Ben at the BST meeting why the transfer window was so bad and why we have glaring holes in our squad

Selling Bowler was a god awful piece of business
If we are going to sell him and know we are going to sell him how come we never spent any of that money or the Quitchley money? There is no doubt we have been let down but we have really battled today and shouldn't be losing, considering the injuries and illness we have been as good as we could be. If they fuck up the January window though then heads have to roll.

Effin joke. Appleton useless, Mansford useless, Sadler not interested, we don't want it bad enough, players are fragile and overpaid, relegation looming, embarrassing, I spent 90 minutes sat on my arse watching that for what, they should be ashamed, why's everyone ill or injured, sack the fitness coaches.

Just a sample of the over reactions to come.

We struggle against teams that set up like Luton. We find it hard to break down, its been the same for a couple of years. When teams go end to end against us and its more open the games are usually exciting and we are at our best. That probably explains why we do alright against the better sides and struggle against those around us.

Is exhausting to read this board sometimes. We’re having good days and bad days at the moment and still picking up points on a regular basis. Crying about relegation after a bad and very close result is absolutely pathetic. Whining ** babies. If we get to January and we’re in free fall I’d understand the same reaction, but jumping off a cliff because of an inconsistent autumn… have a word with yourselves.

I feel sorry for the players, they deserved a point, great battle considering what's happening I am not worried, I just hope we can sort things out in the break and particularly in January. I think everyone knows I think Bullshit is a useless tosser and the sooner he gets his P45 the better. But I am proud of the players out there today, they are up against it and they gave it their all, I think they need to be applauded for that.

Sullshit?

We were unlucky, on another day the two goalmouth scrambles we were involved in at the right end of the pitch go in, and we win 2-1.

Luton were incredible defensively, but we should have had a nailed on penalty.

Maxwell too soft on the goal conceeded yet again, didn't even move once it left their players boot. I've advocated for him in recent times but I do think grimmy saves that.

Players missing is the story of our season. Keshi having to go off after just coming back is just sods law. He looked miles off it anyway and probably never should have been risked in hindsight with Wright on the bench.. although Wright did absolutely fuck all yet again.

Need to ring in the changes vs Borough, we just look really tired as a collective.

Desperately missing some cover for Madine which needs to be addressed sooner rather than later.

Ugh, can't fault the effort but apart from Corbeanu's two runs at the end I'm struggling to remember a single piece of fluid play.

In a dire game without much inspiration Luton we're just a bit quicker, a bit stronger and more than matched us energy wise.

We were shite today Luton not much better but they deserved it.

2 games on the bounce we’ve been shite, worrying times.

Desperate now for a win against Boro but just can’t see it playing like we are.

Should of had a stonewall pen. Ref looking right at it. Joke.
Yeah it was a clear handball, we're almost unfortunate that immediately after we had that goalmouth scramble, if they'd have immediately cleared it 2-3 of our players were about the surround the ref and he would have had a decision to make.

We have a keeper who seems to be nailed to the goal line.
Our fullbacks rarely look dangerous going forward and look shaky defending.
Thorniley cannot do the central defending on his own with Ekpiteta looking like one of those toy footballers where they can only kick the way they're facing.
The midfield has been a problem all season with teams seemingly able to pass their way through it with ease.
The bigger problem is thinking a raw 19 year old is the answer.
Jerry is running on empty.
Gaz is being held together with sticky tape and paper clips and one game wonder CJ is now playing with cement in his boots!!!
The tangerine tinted specs brigade can make as many excuses as they want but I've just witnessed back to back abject dogshite and I genuinely think we'll struggle for the rest of the season.

BFC, PLEASE prove me wrong

Can I please add? We can't take a half decent corner or free kick, even Sunday league players can do that - jeez my head hurts!

Right before anyone starts slagging the manager off, let's get this right, we are struggling do to gross incompetence in the transfer window.
Madine is having to be dragged out every single game, even though he's not fully fit and not exactly a youngster. Why did we try to sign Colby Bishop ? Was it because the manager though we needed an extra forward ? We didn't get him so was it Colby Bishop or no one ?
Connolly another playing 180 minutes every fricking week, second season in a row no plan B for right full back. I don't care we are getting one in January when we are dropping points right now, in games we could draw or win.
Things are that bad we have to sign injury hit free agents to bolster the squad. I like Bridcutt and Ward, but we have them because of piss poor recruitment in the summer.ooks like we've lost Anderson again for weeks, was he rushed back to add to numbers ?
It boils my piss when people blame the manager. The board, owner, transfer recruitment waste of time group, Chief Exec, need to take a hard look at themselves.
Hope they have plans for January, especially someone who can play down the middle and give Madine a rest.
I'm not hopeful and think this season could end in tears.

If we are getting battered with a fully fit team I’d be very worried. But we’re not fit and we are losing games 0-1.

We’ll come good and I honestly believe we’ll stay up with points to spare.
You say that but Luton was missing players today as well and key players for them.
