Bristol Rovers v Blackpool Official Matchday Thread 20.01.23

… and guess what! We’re still eighth 🙄 but closing in 👍 Gabriel looked good, Joseph motm first half. Everyone else looked tired apart from CJ who just looked shite

Good hard fought win in the end. I knew as soon as Chissie and Gllen Little said the game wouldn't stay 1-2 that we would win. 😂

5 points more and we guarantee survival!!!

That’s a few posters expectation at the start of the season blown. (You know who you are!! 😁)

that’s fair but would he actually ever be able to dislodge CJ? Critch loves him no matter how many times he gives chances away/falls over/miscontrols. He never even gets subbed off even when he’s having an absolute stinker (8/10 games)
Well we’ll see won’t we. CJ wasn’t too bad today was he?

No excuse for the gaff not to be rocking next week against Charlton. 3 league wins on the bounce, and an away win finally - we seem to be hitting that 2nd half of the season form we needed to get promoted. They're doing their bit now, it's time to do ours.

If Appleton hasn't been sacked it certainly adds another dimension. Still remember the fucker gesturing towards us when Charlton equalised at their place. Hope he gets a classic Bloomfield Road welcome!

CJ scored a goal from a tough position, ran his socks off defended well, caused them lots of problems when he moved up front. Not sure what the fuck you're talking about.
If he didn't play we'd miss his eccentric take on the game of football. I've watched that finish back a few times now and it gets better every time. Set that aganst his shanks and airshots, counter with his endless chasing and covering, headers in various directions and you have it all. We'll always welcome him back when he retires and that for me is the mark of a player that fits the tangerine shirt.

At least the Dream Is Still Alive as some dodgy German band might have penned.

Best I've seen Joseph. Midfield needs something a bit different.

Great win away at the Gas and probably deserved it at the end, not been a happy hunting ground in the past for us. Some good performances especially from Coulson and Joseph, but Hubby is becoming a bit of a worry at the moment with his reckless play and passing. We also need to keep possession of the ball a lot more rather than treat it as a hot potato and give it away too cheaply but take nothing away that was a very good away win which will hopefully put us on a good run of results.

It wasn't all pretty but a brilliant display of grit saw us over the line. Hopefully this can be the turning point for our away form and season. I thought Joseph was immense, as were Ekpiteta, Casey and Coulson. My Guinness tastes even sweeter tonight.

Agree with Rhodes, though he looked tired today. Needs a rest, having no midweek game will do him the world of good.
