Cardiff City v Blackpool Official Matchday Thread 17.12.22

He makes Colin Hendry look like a tactical genius. So angry that this is just being left to drift. The stubborn attitude needs to be swallowed and pot the man.

That’s the bit I don’t get Hazi?

Both of us are normally very positive towards managers and players, and often late to be negative. In this case I’m willing him to make the change. I thought the break would help but now I’m left wondering why he’s not ripping up the failing game plan and going to plan B?
Agreed Chunky I didn't want him in the first place but have given him my support, but this rinse repeat of the same old chit is killing my love of the beautiful game. When he said last week he can't compare Marv's form to last year as he wasn't here, alarmed me greatly, surely you would watch all the feckin games!?!?!?!

45 minutes to save his job here...lose this and he HAS to go...we should be lining up a replacement this evening and putting Plan B into place...It WILL all cost money to get out of this though so I hope the owner is ready with the dosh this time...if its Mickey ** Mellon then I wont travel to away games until he has gone

442 is a dirty word to Appy but stopped the rot under Critch, if only Appy had watched the games from last season he might of learned something.
Watching this is reminiscent of the first 6 or 7 games under Critch until we got battered by Ipswich at Home. We went 442 away from home at Burton and the season turned around for us.

Don't make excuses for him. Grimshaw made it easy for him and if it had been Maxwell he'd have been getting peters on here from plenty of posters.
it would of been easy for him whether he came running our or not is my point.

Carey and Patino in midfield is not going to provide anything like adequate protection for the defence. I would've taken Lavery off for Poveda or CJ personally, but we'll see. At least something's changed.

It's a bloody shame, everything looked to be on the up last year, there was a great feel about the club but somehow the board have managed to drain the belief and optimism out of everybody. I do feel for the players, individually they could all play in a good team but as a collective they aren't up to Championship standard, the players have been let down for sure. Hopefully Simon Sadler can pull something out of the hat in January.

What the hell was Madine doing there. Nonsense, can that get retrospectively reviewed after the ref has given a card?

That's ironic, eh? Cardiff complaining about Mmadine going in after they kicked the sh$t out of our players at Bloomers last year and we had the softest ref in the Championship that let them get away with it for 90 mins!!

The board didn’t ask Critchley to walk on the club with no notice nd so close to the start of the season. I agree once that happened they haven’t helped but that was a massive kick in the teeth for everyone.

We look like a relegation team. We have been awful again today, we look like we have no idea what the tactics are and they don't look happy either. They should have had a penalty and Grimshaw should have got a red, he was also in an awful position for their goal so you need to be careful what you wish for.

Why was Appleton standing in the background with his hands in his pockets when there was a break and the players were in a huddle and one of the coaches was doing what Appleton should have been doing.

We don't have the players for 433, the front 3 just don't work as a 3, our midfield 3 is so lightweight, Dougall is a league 1 player at best, Carey is not strong enough and Patino has skill but he isn't anywhere near PL standard yet and he needs more experience and physicality around him. Connolly isn't a right back, Garbutt isn't a left back and the 2 in the middle have been okay, Hubby the only really decent player we have today.

If we lose this and carry on like we were in the second half then I don't think there is any option other than getting rid of Appleton. He was the wrong choice in the first place and the board have let him down so they need to put things right. Keeping him on and hoping they sign some players in January is Fred Carno to be honest, they have fucked it up for nearly 12 months and they need to start acting like they know what they are doing, I'm certain Sadler hasn't got a clue about football and Mansfor is just ** useless.

They have gone back twice for ex managers, both times managers no one wanted and both times they have failed miserably. The one ex manager they haven't taken on is the only one who could lift the players and the supporters, it's ** laughable.

Madine should have had a red too, we should be down to 9 men, very very lucky, that was a horrible, cynical foul. We are an ill disciplined rabble. I honestly can't see how Appleton can be manager on Monday and I have no confidence in the board.
