Deadline Day Thread

For me, we’ve been showing patches of attractive attacking football already this season. The 2nd halves against Bournemouth, Cardiff and Coventry had periods where we looked no different to our better performances last year in L1, and this against established championship opposition.
The urgent issue has clearly been the back four, especially the right side, and the incoming of Gabriel and Sterling should address this now. NC has now got the ability to start each game with a flat back four or switch to a three and have genuine wing backs to call on.
I’m much more content this morning after the transfer dealings and think that we have a balanced squad.
If we land Dale in the next 24 hours it’ll be a bonus. A naturally right footed winger would boost us but if not, I believe we’ll do ok now

Free agents may become available, but don't you have to name your squad in the next few days and won't that be fixed until the next window?
Not sure but hopefully if you’ve got gaps in your 25 squad then perhaps you can fill them with out of contract players 🤞🤞

I get the feeling the Dale deal is done but was perhaps suited after 11, so we're waiting for the EFL to confirm it?

Oxford to Blackpool ^

Brannagan not happening?
He arrived and thought…. No thanx.

He is staying at Oxford. He’ll be a championship player this time next year.
Could be one we and other clubs look at in January. Oxford are a decent L1 side but won't go up automatically, they don't have the squad to compete IMO. If they are struggling for a play off spot, I'm sure he'll be more likely to push for a move. Time to forget about him, we only want players 100% committed to us.

"In a bizarre turn of events Blackpool football club inadvertently bid 500k for Dale Winton. Its thought that despite the initial error, the club didn't want to be seen as backing out, which they believed would highlight the mistake more, so doubled down and claimed this was always the planned target.

Its believed the former supermarket sweep star will likely now host a 'grab a merchandise show' in the club shop with Tony Parr.

Sources say Michael Barrymore was approached also, but turned down the offer due to not wanting to be associated with the pool."

I know we’re already carrying some deadwood but £500k for a deceased Winton is pure madness

We wouldn't need to pay for a kit, his usual skin tone was tangerine. I suspect he'd be a little greener these days however.
I'll be honest, him being deceased does complicate the deal somewhat, probably why there's the hold up in announcement.

I'm not quite as excited for his club shop show as I was before.

With all the new signings and no outgoings there's been an urgent appeal for the volunteers to come in tomorrow to help put up some more pegs in the dressing room. 😁
