Digital Tickets Update šŸ˜µā€šŸ’«

Absolutely no issue for anyone at turnstiles 13-14. Everyone straight in around 7.20 when I went through. Only reporting what I saw.

Problems in the West. Hmmm. Can't help but think it's user error.
On Lees video it looked like his didn't work either and they just let him through.

The most amusing thing that I spotted at gates 1 & 2 on Tuesday was the stewards fast tracking those with paper tickets because, presumably, there were no problems with paper tickets! Ain't technology great? šŸ˜‚

like i said, some who defended that it would be easier and quicker are still in denial. It's as if you think people are making these things up when the fact is there were still massive problems on tuesday night and hundreds and hundreds of people had to be let in to the ground without their digital tickets being scanned,. And that was just in the West. It was a farce so stop trying to justify if.

Thatā€™ll be because the South is the emptiest of the 3 home ends šŸ‘šŸ¼

There was mad queues for the North and West.

Not helpful.

I'm yet to see a problem with the tech. But I used gate 14.
Is Wizs post helpful? There have been issues both games with it being even worse on tuesday night. So why shouldn't people report and discuss these issues on here. The South looked pretty empty on tuesday night. Clearly plenty of time for everyone to try and get in. The queues were massive at the turnstiles along the West on tuesday and pretty much not moving because there were problems. So they decided in order to get people in quicker they had to simply just let people in without tickets being scanned. And as reported on here it seems it was no better in the North.

You know what I meant.

Anyhow, the club clearly have work to do, whether that be education or identifying if the e-ticket is transmitting correctly (nfc?) Or if the reader is faulty.

Burying head in sand isn't a solution.

Clearly identifiable helpers at each turnstile is a must on Saturday. It shouldn't be difficult to identify which of the above 3 scenarios is the issue.

I emailed the club with an issue. NO reply. My daughter emailed the club re booking hospitality and prices etc NO Reply. Tried phoning hospitality numerous time Never answer. this is over a week ago. So donā€™t hold ya breath for them to sort anything out if they canā€™t answer emails or phone calls at different departments. Was the same when we tried to book afternoon tea. Gave up in the end. If they arenā€™t answering calls theyā€™re losing money as we havenā€™t been able to speak with the relevant departments. Shocking really

Not everyone's a Wizard with tech!

It seems you have special powers šŸ˜
As @Halifax71 said as well, everyone got through fine at 13-14 turnstiles. I do wonder if people are trying to get in at the wrong turnstile. You used to be able to do that, but the new system only recognises you at allocated turnstiles.

Just throwing it out there, but some phone covers reduce the signal.

40 years ago if someone said in the future youā€™ll need to bring your telephone with you to be able to get into the ground, I think theyā€™d have been sectioned.

I wonder which every day household object will be needed in 2060? Iā€™m going for the air-fryer šŸ˜€.

has everyoneā€™s updated showing the Orient game yet or still showing Port Vale?

Still Port Vale. Mine updated the day before from Burton to Port Vale, so maybe there's no panic just yet.
There's no panic anyway. I also use turnstile 13/14, my ST still says Burton Albion but it still let me in first time.

Clearly there are issues I was Unaware of in the busier West and North stands, hope they're sorted by Saturday

The beast system? Mark (microchip?) in the back of the right hand or forehead.

People will learn.
They will have to.
I know at least one neighbour who needed help with getting this set up.
people will learn and as you say they will have to. But first the club need to learn and realise that there are still problems. Because trust me not everyone going in is an "old fart". The club stated that it will be easier and quicker and to date that is simply not the case. Do we know for a fact that the system was tested thoroughly?

Just checked my ticket in the wallet on my I phone ,ST ticket has disappeared ,I did a update on my phone last night has this caused the ticket to vanish, has anyone else had this problem.

That's not strictly true. There's some leeway on turnstiles.

If you are having problems with the digital pass then please do us all a favour and get a card . Itā€™s not difficult and not expensive and youā€™re then sorted for 2 seasons .

Android user.

Im not old, nor a dinosaur with tech.
I use my phone (google pay) everyday, contactless to pay for goods etc, so I KNOW my phone works. Its upto date and NFC is ON.

My season ticket states I can enter at turnstiles 1-2 and 3-4.
Burton game I used turnstile 1. It wouldnt scan when phone was presented to the reader. Tried different ways to ā€˜presentā€™ the phone as the NFC chip can be in different places, no joy so had to use the barcode to enter.
As a result there was no update to show Port Vale so deleted from wallet and re-added from email. Port Vale showed immediately.
Come the game I used turnstile 2. Same issue.
Wouldnt scan, had to use code, still showing Vale on the ticket.
I will try turnstile 3 on Saturday.
Didnt have an issue last season (same phone).
So this indicates either the readers at T1 and T2 are not working for some phones, or there is an issue with the app/software.
I have tried the usual, switching phone off/on. Looked for updates, switched NFC on/off etc etc
Definately not user error here.

It is the fans that paid an extra Ā£20 that I feel sorry for as they have to join long queues caused by the digitals either failing to work properly or user slowness.
We nearly did but thought we would embrace the technology.
Glad we did not pay an extra Ā£20 to join a long queue and then get waved in without scanning as we did the other night.
It can only get better

It scanned the barcode, so not sure what the problem is?

You have two options with Android phones. So if the barcode option works then it's quicker to use it.
Best option would be cards like for ski lifts. Scan through you clothes. Very quick.
Using the bar code doesnt update the app to show its been used, therefore doesnt show next game. Pointless having a system that is supposed to work a certain way.
Like taking money to pay in case contactless didnt work.

New School

1. Do I have my iPhone? Or Android alternative?
2. Is it fully charged?
3. Is my season ticket updated to show the match Iā€™m hoping to go to?
4. Do I have my charging lead?
5. Do I have my emergency charger?
6. Is it fully charged?
7. Can I now safely leave the house, confident I will be able to access the stadium at 3pm?

Old School

Do I have my plastic card? Goody. Off to the pub for a stress free pre match snifter.

Awaits shouts of ā€œdinosaur!!!!ā€ and ā€œJust looking for problems!!!ā€ and ā€œget with the digital era grandpaā€.

I love progress.

Sorted found pass in expired passes.
I thought mine was fine and it updated the other day to Orient, However just went to my wallet to check it still ok and itā€™s vanished. Tried to download to wallet again from email and it looked all ok but didnā€™t end up in the wallet. Like you have just found it in expired passes, which I had seen that but presumed it was last seasons.

both games so far Iā€™ve just had to show my digital ticket to an old guy behind the turnstile because the tech wasnā€™t working. Huge queues, gates 5 & 6

Glad you sorted,I think itā€™s best to check every week at home rather than finding out at the gates.

Mine does the same at turnstiles 6 and 7 I also have my grandsons ticket on my phone. I'm yet to test his ticket. I was intending to on Tuesday but they ended up getting us to show tickets rather than scan them as it was to busy.

I have emailed the club but just got silly answers before they referred my query on to someone who hasn't been in touch.

They did send my ticket to an old email address but my grandsons to my new email. I did think this may be causing an issue.

I don't feel confident I the club trying communicate solutions to us so feel it's left to myself to sort.
All I know if I spent Ā£800 with any other company I would be expecting better communication and customer service than I'm getting and if I didnt i would take my business elsewhere. The trouble is I'm not getting a season ticket at Preston, its not that bad.....

It scanned the barcode, so not sure what the problem is?
And I have to swop between grandchildren tickets on my phone so swopping to different barcodes isn't difficult but it does take an extra couple of seconds, especially if my glasses fall of or drop my flask and blanket...

We were promised a quicker entry system so barcodes don't make it quicker unless they do what they did on Tuesday and just open the turnstiles to show tickets.
