England v Denmark Official Matchnight Thread 07.07.21

I know it must come with the job but this commentator loves the sound of his own voice!!
Well done England would have been enough.

We're 2 1 up with 5 minutes to go in a semi final and the manager is deemed useless.
Its worked but not been pretty at times, we've had an easy a run to the final as you'll ever get.

Still had to do it though. Now let's finish it off. 👍

Worry about Sunday on Sunday but my head has gone. Every credit to those who follow England home and away like a club team, this right now is for them.

I had my doubts about Southgates tactics but what do I know. 😄

I was 2 months. Me old dad was always at great pains to point out, whenever the '66 goals were shown, that he missed them at the time, as I'd been parked in my pram outside and was screaming my head off

They did close it down brilliantly. MOM Sterling, again, Man of the tournament for me. but I hate super negative tactics

History and a massive night on Sunday. it's going to be a cracker. Watched it home tonight, 4 of us, but off to Brewboard brewery to watch it on Sunday night going to be buzzing.

Tell you what though, that period of possession near the end for about 2 minutes or more was great and in times like that the opposition don't know what to do and just when the opposition think your keeping the ball, the spaces come and a goal is nearly scored.

It was a great passage of play.

Brigitte Nielsen, Viggo Mortensen, Messers Carlsberg and Lurpak, you could not Copenhagen with the mighty🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿👍

  • Deserved to win, best team for last 75 minutes
  • Game management very good except for first five minutes of 2nd period of ET
  • Shaw the MotM for me ; Mount and Rice struggled, Sterling disappeared for an hour in the middle
  • Penalty was quite soft, I thought it was given for the second contact as the first was minimal. Kane is a lucky lad

I still think we are very predictable and too many players are very limited in the way they play (could be tactical, I guess). We are not one of the best two teams but we were the strongest on our side of the draw as it worked out. But full marks to most of them (apart from the goalkeeper) for being very composed under pressure.

Second favourites in the final, but that will probably suit us. I think he needs more athleticism in midfield though, we will get cut to ribbons otherwise. But full marks to Southgate, he has hit upon a style that is a good mixture of speed, muscularity and quality in key positions and it makes us hard to beat. I still don't enjoy watching it though.

not by the first guy but the second guy ight have just touched him. Never a pen though but I thought the first might have been overturned and given,
Sterling just said he went over easy without saying he went over easy in his interview. F** it. Tired of losing out to someone else like that, or Schmeichel catching and holding the ball off the pen. About time the worst possible outcome didn't happen.
