Fans meeting with the players on Wednesday

Just finished listening to it all and it was all very positive before people go on about this and that about him have a listen before getting all keyboard warrior.
It's not what was said Simo, it's about the whole scenario behind it.
No need for keyboard warrior comment, as this is very important matter for many reasons & there has been no supporter engagement.
We all hope this tactic works and we win tomorrow

Its a fantastic listen and it was all very respectful.

For me it's just another miscalculation and total fuck up by the club, I thought there might be another instalment today, it's almost a daily occurrence now. I have no problem with Raggy going to the training ground and his passion on the podcast is great to listen to, he speaks from the heart. However, WTF were Mansford and co doing setting this up? It's bizarre, it's weird and it's frankly one of the most ridiculous things I've ever heard.

McCarthy is clearly not winning any votes from the supporters or the players, why is he still our manager? Why was this allowed to happen, these things (what we have heard) shouldn't be discussed with 2 supporters after the threat of the training ground being visited by 200 disgruntled supporters.

It just shows that the senior management have completely lost control of the asylum, Why has Sadler allowed this? We are a laughing stock, no doubt about it. We had the worse football club owners in the history of the game, but now we have the most clueless, they are ** it up and they are making it worse every day, what's going to be the next fuck up, the next cringeworthy incident? The problem is simple to identify. We have an owner who doesn't have a clue what he's doing with an entourage who are taking the piss. I fear for the club once again, can't we just have a period of normality, can we just be run like a professional football club instead of always being a complete basket case. It wares you out, it makes it really difficult to enjoy supporting the club. If there is anyone out there with plenty of money and knows how to run this club properly please come and put us out of our misery because this is shit.

It’s as if we’ve never had a bad season before! Everybody demanding answers, threatening to March on the training ground and having meetings with the squad. It’s great that we have these passionate people but it’s pretty funny.

I might pitch ‘Blackpool till I die’ to Netflix, they’d love this shit.

To be honest, if it helps us win I don't care much.

But there's no getting around the fact that allowing two fans personal access to the players is completely bizarre and not in keeping with the supposed aim of SS that the club will operate with more transparency. It does seem there is a clique at the top of our club that spans a very small number of fans, two of whom are Simon and Brett. I don't think that's a good thing to be honest. As soon as SS became owner and Brett a board member, they needed to distance themselves from individuals in order to run the club with objectivity.

** brilliant!!

Pete Positive strikes again... 😂

As it is... We've got group of players who left the room fired up and having a much clearer understanding of what WE (Blackpoll FC and our supporters are all about) and our most vociferous fans fired up and committed to get the place bouncing tomorrow.

All we're doing here is adopting the same kind of approach as many European Clubs where the so called 'Ultras' play an important role in representing the fans directly with the Club.

Good on the lads for stepping up and calling the Club to account and Good on the Club for listening and being open to something a bit different.

Laughing Stock My Arse....

Does that matter? because he is not prepared to sit on his hands and watch us sink.

If you listen to Dino's interview above you will see it may have finally hit home with him.
If that is all Raggy has achieved with this then it's okay by me because we are going down as it stands.
Passionate supporter who speaks his mind and cares what happens to BFC

No, I have no problem with Raggy or Higgy, they are a breath of fresh air, my gripe is with how the club are handling everything, it's amateur hour, it always is with this lot. We'll see if it has helped but as far as I can see the club is in complete disarray and has no one who is capable of getting a grip. Surely you can see that the fact Raggy and Higgy are doing this and how the club are dealing with it is indicative of the cluelessness of those who are running the club.

Personally, I think this is really positive. Not heard what was said but well played the club and Raggy/Higgins. We are in this shit together.

If McCarthy wasn't there then how do the players pick the right team, with the right tempo, with new found enthusiasm on their own?

Surely McC just kicks it all in the bollocks with 'Garbo you lad is up top son'. Or similiar shit.

Let's hope that the tactic works & we thrash Cardiff tomorrow.
But whether the guys spoke passionately or not, & no matter if it motivates the player & manager / coaches or not, most people in football will agree that this is no way to run a professional club.
It's doesn't set a good precedent and has boxed the board in for future dealings with disgruntled fans.
UTMP - we must win tomorrow.

It's a learning curve for our owner and he will have learned more from the failures of this season than from all the previous seasons prior put together.

They have obviously taken into account of the last POD and have taken Raggys offer of a meeting with the club rather than going to TG and causing any problems(which he also said wouldn't happen on the POD) and it seems to have been very productive for all.

As for Dino not being there the club made the right call so the players could talk openly without fear of being sanctioned by him.

I keep saying I don't have any issue with Raggy and co confronting the club, good! I hope they always want to keep the pressure on. I don't know about the Ulras and what they do, I don't really care, the fans should be represented, of course, but this was to stop a load of supporters disrupting training, which I understand, but the very fact we are here discussing this and that it has happened is bizarre isn't it?

What has been heard from the meeting? Is the whole 2 hours transcribed or recorded? I just think it's all a bit weird.

The sooner it's 3pm tomorrow the better and all I'm bothered about is that we get 3 points and perform the great escape. All the stuff going on in the background is all just so surreal.

I was there. See my column in tomorrow's Gazette.
Thanks Steve - no one is criticising you.
I think there would be less upset, if we'd had better communication from the two attending supporters, both before & after the 2 meetings.
As it is, there was a big announcement on their Sunday podcast that they were going to the training ground in numbers & we heard nothing else prior to reading the Gazette / Mail.
In my working life, I've learnt that if anything is going to go wrong, it will involve communication.
In addition the board are attracting criticism, but that's for them to reflect on.

I am not going to give anything away directly but I did a post at 2 pm that has some relevance.

Sit back and learn how it's done. I'm sure this was done for all the right reasons and is the future going forward...if you find a problem - you address it and take the appropriate action needed...I'm sure you agree?

How many people have? Like I said, good on Raggy and Higgy, but surely it shows what a dilemma the club are at. And why did they allow it/set it up?

Raggy is happy to share it... Have a listen... I thought it was very positive on the whole.

Of course the Club has a dilemma... They've tried to take action to address the poor results and the new and highly experienced manager is worse than the last bloke. We've just lost a Derby game to Knob end, with a lack lustre display and left a load of decent players on the bench.... The fans are rightly disgruntled and ... despite it all there's still a chance we might scrape out of the mess and stay up (last chance saloon on Saturday)...

However... That... All of it.... Every last bit... Is life supporting Blackpool FC.. The good, the bad and the indifferent... It's ** Ace and frankly I wouldn't want any of it any other way... We are and always will be a unique football club and that is very much part of the attraction. So let's not call our unique way of doing things "Embarrassing", but rather embrace who and what we are... The fact that as collective our fanbase is unlike any other, because of the trials and tribulations we have faced...

Simon (whether you like him or not and fuck only knows why you've got such a massive issue with him) is just one of us... He's got a few quid and he's willing to put it into the Club and he will enable us to be successful. The timescales might not suit the verruca salts amongst us... He will undoubtedly make mistakes and fail and whatever else, but we'll get there... collectively and we'll do it the Blackpool way in our usual haphazard and mad cap way..

So sit back and enjoy the ride.... because we only pass this way once and life is too ** short to spend it being Victor Meldrew 👍

McCarthy was the main one who needed to be there to tell him to stop leaving our best players on the bench the useless tit
To be fair, I think the way it's actually transpired has the potential to be beneficial - whereas the original plan of going to the training ground and giving McCarthy and the players a rollicking could have been disastrous. Given how stubborn McCarthy is, I don't think he'd take kindly to someone telling him who to play, I'd be worried he wouldn't play them out of spite so it didn't look like he was bowing to a fan telling him what to do.

The actual message that happened was an entirely positive one, some of the senior players and Rogers was there for the younger ones got an in depth history of why we are the way we are, with the boycott and all that. Then it was all just about how we're still behind them, please give us something to get behind tomorrow and they'll see an atmosphere that'll spur 'em on and hopefully get the 3 points in the biggest game of the season.

Whether it works, we'll never know for certain, but it certainly can't have hurt. I think the original plan would have had a negative effect.

It seems a bit bizarre that the club allowed two fans no matter how well-intentioned to meet with players. All the players mentioned in the article

I think are at the end of their contract in four weeks' time or go back after their loan period. Thankfully the club kept the players that

are under contract next season away from the meeting. But I think it sets a dangerous precedent that allows the more vocal and militant

fans access to vent their opinions.

You have the biggest agenda of anyone on this messageboard, and that’s saying a lot.

All because you had some mysterious feeling that Sadler wasn’t going to be right for us, and now you have to back it up by slating him whenever possible.

It’s so ** boring now.

My concern is , mick wasn’t there , it’s like , he thinks , I anit being there ,I don’t need to be , I am the coach and it be me who will pick the team type attitude 🤷
I think tomorrow he will pick a team to suit him not us fans , it’s like he wasn’t bothered , yet Ben was there with others and players , players were aloud to speak , so surly mick should of been there to hear a fans view on the team
I do think players should listen to fans , we Are the heartbeat of the club , not the players or mick or Simon
this is our club 🧡🧡

mmmm... I think he'll go the other way and pick an attacking line up.

The reality is, whoever walks out of that tunnel tomorrow we support them like they're the 53 cup final team. We can still do this. Even if we don't, we're still the best, most colourful, maddest, most wonderful with a history many would die for football club out there. Breathe it in and believe 🧡

I totally agree with you about the support and how we are unique, I'm not having a go at us, the supporters at all or how we rise up and challenge instead of doing nothing and it is something to embrace and part of the attraction and yes it is madcap and haphazard, but personally I've had my fill of haphazard but still like mad cap.

I'm not going to change my mind about Sadler, he may be one of us, but with a massive difference, he owns our club, a very difficult job and one I don't think he's making a very good fist of. We are likely stuck with him so somehow he has to learn quickly from these 'Haphazard and Madcap' situations that seem to be like an out of control snowball at the moment and he needs some really decent people around him. I want him to succeed, we all deserve that after the past 50 years, but there are no guarantees so I will continue to be sceptical for now.

I hope we turn up tomorrow and destroy Cardiff and then I can go to Luton on Monday and cheer them on to our first away win for what seems like 10 years ago.

My mates a staunch red scouser. He's seen what has gone on at BFC & is going to give the reds players 'down the banks' (his words).
He's not going to tell them that he has no coaching badges & only played for South Liverpool in a couple of games, as they may think he doesn't know what he's talking about. Klopp's not going to be invited as he doesn't want hitting by the big guy 🤣

It’s good that McCarthy was not there. Otherwise the two supporters’ emotions would have been turned on him solely. And with very negative feelings, not positivity. The players should speak to McCarthy about how they felt.

I only hope to God the players did not laugh together about Raggy, SLO & Co after leaving the room. As they allegedly did in the Deepdale tunnel after the last game. If they did... we are screwed.

Well I've listened to Raggy's audio and I may have read too much into a comment that Ben Mansford made but it sounded to me that McCarthy has been told to pick an attacking line-up.
My only worry is that McCarthy might be so offended by any interference in his team selection that he picks 11 defenders.

Yea I didn’t want them to go to the training ground, but was hoping mick would of been there to sit through as he’s the bulk of the problem

More likely they left the room laughing their heads off asking who the f*** was that!

“Given how stubborn McCarthy is,” - that is the worry, will he continue to be stubborn and select another uninspiring team tomorrow?
