Fiorini

If that's true it's unbelievable. McCarthy should already be gone and Sadler and Mansford should take responsibility.

He ** played Dougall, Connolly, Anderson and CJ ahead of Patino, Poveda, Bowler & Forinni and add Carey to that list too because he is better than any of those 4 who started. He just needs to be sacked now.
Look worse when you see them written down, those who started v those on the bench or dropped completely!
He should be gone now!!
Absolutely ** clueless.

I ask because it’s been suggested to me he turned up and was told he wasn’t required Couldn't believe what I was hearing I’d assumed he was ill as Thorniley was
Tim send a copy of Matt's blog to anyone you can at the top and if that doesn't get DinoMick and Terry Dactyl out of our club then nothing will......

There ya go
“Just selection. I only have seven subs,” he said.”

He picked Kenny Dougall ffs.

Honest to god get this fuckin tool out the Club asap. Proper useless and clueless fucker.

Also let’s remember Keshi is fasting !

Hardly going to fill him with the energy he needs is it

I still can’t believe Fiorini was dropped As you say must be something else
May be un-relatable, and more to do with the fact of a long lay off, but Keshi looked weak I thought and constantly got knocked off the ball. Fasting certainly wont have helped him. At first I was pleased to see his name in the line up, but then I realised who was supporting him in the middle. Dougall and Connolly should be nowhere near that starting line up (certainly in them positions) with the players in the squad..... Shocking!!

The rumour I heard the other week that Fiorini and Poveda drove off after being dropped was if true, unforgivable by 2 so called professionals
Not professional but neither is our manager as he’s completely and utterly fuckin useless 👏🏻

Fiorini played v Stoke, we won.
Dropped for Blackburn.
Dropped for Reading.
Made to play in development squad game.
Then not in Squad for Burnley game.

No wonder he was fucked off.

That midfield 3 was never ever going to do anything in that game yesterday and the whole of the away end knew it.

For some reason our Manager didn’t.

Went away on international duty and done well come back full of confidence and then not selected for the derby game 🤷‍♂️ crazy

The obvious change when Thorniley dropped out was Connolly to the right side of the back three
Lyons could have gone left ( I thought he would when I saw the team ) and Gabriel right but he has this obsession with accommodating CJ
Fiorini should have been nailed on and Patino / Carey both start ahead of Dougall
It’s not rocket science
And don’t get me started on the Maxwell / Grimshaw debate 😆

Yep and I’ll go more than that.

Fiorini has started 7 games this season. We’ve won 4 of the 7.

Out the other 32 games. We’ve won 4.

So that’s 39 matches, 8 wins. Fiorini has won 4 of those games but only played (started every time) in 7 of those.

Now I’m not saying he’s the next Zidane but statistically we have a better chance of winning when he plays.

To be fair, stats aren’t always the answer, but I also have a pair of eyes and I know we look a much better team when he plays as he has the ability to pick passes and move the ball forwards, to feet, progressively.

The fact our manager doesn’t recognise this and we tipped up yesterday with a midfield 3 of Connolly, Dougall (who were both abysmal v Coventry) and Anderson (who’s not completed more than 45 mins all season) tells you all you need to know about Mick McCarthy.

To quote a well known pundit regarding MM…

You’re a f***ing w***er. I didn’t rate you as a player, I don’t rate you as a manager and I don’t rate you as a person.,”

“You can stick your World Cup up your a**e. I’ve got no respect for you. The only reason I have any dealings with you is that somehow you are the manager of my country! You can stick it up your b*****ks.”

If you take the player and World Cup bit out, then that nails my thoughts on him 👌🏼

He clearly puts physical players who put a shift in ahead of ones who have much more natural footballing ability. The writing was on the wall before the game when he talked about scrapping. People must have been dumbfounded when they suddenly saw Patino, Bowler and Poveda appear from the bench at half time wondering why they didn’t start. He needs to go now as he is utterly clueless. As for consistently picking Maxwell, the man is a fraud and not up to Championship football.

He does. CJ is a right bruiser. His impression of a tortoise head when he went to head the ball away was brilliant.

Mick’s logic of physical players of footballing ability is working brilliantly so far.

We’ve lost 6 out of 6 in the League away & been pure shite in 5.5 of the 6. Quality stuff.

That stat on Fiorini is damning

This more than anything else should prompt SS to remove MM immediately. Fiorini is an no brainer and when he plays, we’ve seen Patino in a better light.

MM is certainly doing his best to keep us below Cardiff. He has a lot of respect for Cardiff and we cannot afford to have him taking charge on Friday.

Surely, Simon must be asking the football experts he has on his board, to demand answers from MM about the selection, which he realised was wrong by making half time changes and leaving Fiorini out altogether. In fact, he must be asking them to accelerate the recruitment of a permanent manager who can start immediately.

yet, we have clowns on here clearly defending those decisions. Some of them noticeably missing since yesterdays debacle.

Sacking Appleton really was an idiotic thing to do. He'd just got a main target in Rogers and Fiorini was due back. He knew both those lads well and they liked playing for him. Then Bowler was back too. Another lad who flourished with the freedom MA gave him. Now he's shackled or mainly not even playing. He also seemed to have made his peace with Pov and found a spot in the team for him. Plus he understands THAT derby. So many bad decisions being made. Mansford is a sports lawyer not a football guru. He has his uses but we need some real football knowhow at the club ASAP.

Agree, not that that excuses appointing him in the first place, but the timing was a panic move.

I already think MM should have been sacked last night, but if he thinks Fiorini is not one of our best 18 players, he should be brought back in and sacked again. An absolutely staggering decision to leave him out of the squad yesterday.

I will be looking at the team selection before I leave my house on Friday and if Patino, Fiorini, Poveda, Bowler, don't start, he can just fck off and it's an afternoon with Jeff and the boys.

If BM , SS and BG read this board, do something !!!! We have 7 games to save our season. MM is just repeating the same mistake week after week, it's almost like he wants us to go down. A fckn shambles, really angry after yesterday, enough is enough.

If true then fcuk off tomorrow McCarthy you clown 🤡
You take it without any proof that it down to the manager that Fiorini wasn't playing.

What if he just didn't turn up?
What if he got charlied up during the time off that MM gave the squad and couldn't play because of that?..

Everyone automatically blames the manager, pretty much for everything.
The team was shit before MM came in and was shit at the end of last season, won games last season when they should have lost them, under Critchley and we're shit under Appleton.

Everyone gets on the managers back when in fact the protected heroes who don't seem to be able to keep the ball for more than two or three passes are worshipped.
I am not questioning their effort or their commitment to the cause but they simply aren't good enough to play in the championship.

He did the same when we played Burnley !

Why the fuck MM played Connolly and Dougall when we set up with a back three was completely bonkers anyone could see that so if Fiorini was anything but injured he should have started.

McCarthy says he didn’t pick him and was left out of the squad as it wasn’t the game for him

Truth is non of us really know what goes on behind the scenes but I hope there was a bloody good reason for Fiorini’s absence , and as for Maxwell 🤯

This season for almost every game I've seen the lineup and thought no, that team won't do anything. Almost every time I've been right, as we all have. I'm not sure we have the players to survive, but I'm 100% certain we have the players to have more points than we do. We just haven't appointed managers that are good enough because the powers that be didn't do their homework on them, and have no idea whatsoever about football.
It's quite amazing that you can apparently involve yourself in football as a career or a supporter for decades and yet still have no idea about it.

If this is definitely true, then McCarthy should be made to personally refund all of yesterdays travelling Pool fans (including me) and immediately relieved of his duties, the f#cking useless clown!! 😡🤡

Click the gazette article. The idiot of a manager literally says that he can only pick 7 subs and there wasn’t room for Fiorini
I know but what he says for the press and what actually goes on could be two separate things . He might be keeping some misdemeanour in house , or maybe not . Nobody knows for sure despite press briefing.

Mcarthy himself said it was just down to his team selection 🤷🏻

A 4-4-2 which includes, and relies on, Connolly and Dougall is asking to be pressed.
CC has been a trooper this season, but as a RB /CH not as a midfielder.
Patino brings the ball forward, more than any other player we have at present and if you are setting up for a defensive game you put 3 strong midfielders around him, the problem is we haven't got 3 strong ones available
Carey is growing on.me but his positional awareness is lacking.
Kenny is just no longer Championship standard and CJ for his size should be so much stronger in his tackling, heading and ability to hold the ball.
It's been screaming out for a midfielder, from the Forest Green lad who we courted at the end of last season - then he went to Cardiff, Voldemort mk2 who decided he liked fishing and living down south, and on to the Wednesday lad who is only making their bench at present.
Instead we re-sign Ward for a cameo, Bridcutt who makes Stewart look like Mr Never miss a day from work 2023, and the ex Norwich lad who when you translate his name it reads Another Stewart.

I’m woken up still fuming
Listening to the Nobbers mock us like that is hard to take when anyone there could have picked a better team than that clown
Yep I said this a while ago, it's us fans who had to go stand there and take a load of shit from them lot, got battered and predictably so given the team, couldn't string 3 passes together 1st half. We're leaving better players out often, Grimshaw should be playing, Fiorini was left out for what? Even Bowler and Poveda are hugely talented and Bowler hasn't been at it but hasn't played much consistently.

Why should fans be put in that situation because of complete incompetence from the board and manager.

They picked him knowing what he is like, seemingly with little to no thought of how he would fit what we have and it's gone about as badly as you might expect for a manager who doesn't suit the players he has, had to learn them over a number of games and when we needed someone to hit the ground running. All this from the board in a position of control, who had plenty of time to find someone.

Maybe it's time for Paulos one good contribution to be slightly modified.

YOU'VE TAKEN THE MICHAEL, NOW PLEASE TAKE THE MICK

oh dear! I think the managers own words are pretty much all the proof you need.
