Jordan Thorniley starts for Blackpool at Fulham today, having returned from a loan spell at Oxford United earlier this week.

The defender is one of two changes to the side that recorded a 1-0 victory at home to Millwall last time out, with Jordan Gabriel also coming into the line-up.

New signing Charlie Kirk is amongst the substitutes.

Team: Grimshaw, Gabriel, Ekpiteta, Keogh, Thorniley, Sterling, Connolly, Dougall, Bowler, Hamilton, Lavery

Subs: Moore, Casey, Robson, Dale, Kirk, Madine, Yates

Bloody hell!!!

That's not how I'd use Dujon but Critch knows best!

Basically he's picked 6 defenders, one midfield player and 3 attacking players. 3 defenders in midfield. He's scared, it would appear.

I will be officially amazed if we get a point today!

Oh fuck off CJ.

How many times have we said that this season and then been totally wrong? We are massive second favourites and it will be interesting how Critch has prepared for this game and if his tactical nous pays off. I'm looking forward to it.

We've had zero creativity behind the attackers all season Voy, haven't you been watching?? 🤣 🤣
Even less today Herts. Without Keshi obviously. And Connolly instead of Wintle. It's a massive 7 man defence! Sterling in midfield. There were other options.

I think we'll have better options after Monday. It does look very negative, but let's return at half time to compare notes. Maybe Kenny is going to get.a chance to push forward today?

I'm sure Critch knows what he's doing. I just worry when you play a much better team like Fulham and you bring in a defender who has just returned and change the defensive system too. And then set up to defend. Why not stick with a system that's not been leaking goals lately?

My main worry is how much ground we are giving up with 90 odd minutes to go.

Well you just never can second guess Critch.

I can see the logic. You're not going to go to Fulham and dominate the game with the players we have available, we just have to be realistic about that. This line up suggests dig in, frustrate, and hit them on the break. There's a lot of pace in Lavery, Bowler and CJ, and I'd expect quite low possession and plenty of long balls to try and get those three in behind.

For away fans leaving the stadium after the game, please proceed to the penalty area where the bus has been parked.

Just kidding, but 5 at the back was my first thought when I saw that team, but I agree with the fluidity to a 3 4 3 when attacking. Hopefully we can utilise the pace of our front 3, I just hope we don't lump it in the middle up to "big Shayne" like we did a few times against Millwall.

Edit, just seen your post Sooty59, not what I expected (BBC guess or otherwise)

A classic tactic from Critch- page 49 of the manual if I'm not mistaken.

Put out a team who can't score early and therefore you won't make them 'angry' and end up conceding a few. Once the game has settled second half, bring on the attacking additions and hit them hard.

Actually probably more truth in that than I indented.

That looks like the strategy. Catch them napping. Sterling and Gabriel can get forward to help. Then there’s the pace of Lavery + CJ and the trickery of Bowler.

Just looks like a mixture of clumsiness in midfield and chaotic pace up front to me! How will we keep the ball and calm the game down!?

I'm intrigued anyway. Hoping to see something I'm not expecting.

I don't think the plan is to keep the ball for any length of time today. Or if it is, it won't work!
