Get well soon Daniel Grimshaw

Are we sure it was Archer's foot that made contact?
'Cos from this picture his foot is well away from Grimmy's head, it looks more like his knee.....

Hard to tell from what we saw on Sky.

That said, a foot wouldn't normally be that bad, so it could well have been the knee instead.

I thought it was an unfortunate collision if he was trying to “do” him surely he does with his foot

At the time I didn't think it was on purpose. No malice just went for the ball, nothing he could do really.
Agree with that. At the time it just looked like one of those unfortunate challenges that the striker had every right to go for.
But as the match wore on, there were more and more tackles made by PNE where they were late or left a boot in. Coincidence? Not sure. Nagging doubt, and not much we can do about it now. Ref was weak as well which didn’t help.

Actually Sky did show a replay. He caught him with his knee, not his foot.

PS Glad Grimshaw’s ok
Whatever he 'caught' him with, it looked deliberate to me. He was determined to leave something on him because he was frustrated at not getting to the ball first. Should have been a sending off in my view, and likely would have been with var.
Thanks for your concern 're Grimmy btw.

Best wishes to the guy and its sad to see players going off injured in this manner. I seem to recall the Chelsea keeper get an appalling injury some years ago and you cant take anything for granted

Agreed.

Shame there's no footage from our angle, I saw a clear movement to keep his leg trailing.

He certainly could have avoided the collision looking at that angle on the photo.

However Id give Archer the benefit of the doubt as he could have sustained a very serious injury to his knee with the impact.

Dangerous and risky thing to do if it was malicious.

Ha Ha yes. Bit like 'his eye gave my knuckles a nasty bruise'. 😉 😉

Given the speed he was travelling at its highly unlikely, in my opinion, he could have deliberately manoeuvred his knee into Grimshaws face. I’ve watch it back on sky a number of times and it definately wasn’t his foot.

What's the latest on the lad. Out for the season?

Just hope when he comes back his confidence hasn't been hit as hard as his head.

Grimshaw was on the ground clutching the ball. I could sprint ten yards and hit a stationary object with my knee every time. But I agree, he made it look like an accident.

Deliberate as far as I'm concerned. Dan had the ball in his control so I turned away before Archer made his challenge. This was obviously very late and avoidable. As such the ref should have taken action, and that action should have resulted in a sending off.
I have no time for their players , and no respect for cheats of which category Archer obviously belongs. His attitude stinks as demonstrated by his celebration of the goal, Absolutely no remorse shown and no respect for his fellow professionals.

Bit of a pussy if you ask me, bit of a knock, had 10 mins rest laying down, CAT scan, MRI Scan, mollycoddled by his wife/gf/bf for a day or two, fans sending him recovery wishes like he got a terminal illness.

Grimy's head was in the air, about knee height, possibly Archer didn't expect it, possibly he thought he'd leave something on him and got more than he expected.

Being objective, he probably gets the benefit of the doubt.

With comments like that, your the one who deserves a terminal illness, and I wouldn't normally wish that on my worst enemy you pile of💩

Depends how his symptoms settle. While he still has a headache or dizziness he can’t start to train. There is a 6 day protocol for recovery from head injury. The first is being fit to return to work. Grimmy isn’t at that stage yet so the 6 days hasn’t started.
