If you`ve left your house today, why ? ....

I live nearly a normally fairly busy road so I tend to zone out to the traffic noise, today has been different. I honestly can`t believe how many people are on the road moving between their destinations. Surely to God there isn't that many "key workers" about or are there ? I understand people nipping to shop for bits and bobs (staying 6ft away from other people I hope....) but the amount of traffic today genuinely has blown my mind.

Please tell family / friends …

If you don't have to go into work, don't.
If you don't need to go to the shop, don't.
If you don't need to visit your mate, don't.
etc etc etc etc

We`re only going to get one shot at this folks, stay inside, don't spread this horrible virus any further than it has already.

I'm guilty of doing our weekly shop, normal for a Tuesday, and fortunately managed to get a large Milk and some Lancashire Yoghurt, both of which we had run out of. So, whilst I was out I topped the car up, you never know if it's needed.

Took dogs out earlier- did not go within 20 yards of anybody and would not
Brother is going to leave some basics at our front door later

Think it best to try and predict what you need for the week ahead and then get it in one go. That's not stockpiling it's using common sense. The less you go out especially to the shops, the better.
Stay safe

Picked up a prescription for MrsDP.
Pharmacy didn't open until 10.00 so I went back and sat in the car.
Went round about 09.45, there was a queue of 5 in front of me. TYhey opened on time and they were letting 2 at a time in.
Don't know what the first bloke had, he was in for about 8 mins.
Anyway I got in at 10.20 no problems.
When I came out there were 15 people in the queue. 😟
All spaced out of course.

Completely agree with you however for some people the ‘If you don't have to go into work, don't’ is being taken out of their hands.

I’m seeing multiple posts on social media from people being told to go to work by their employers even tho they aren’t key workers. I really despair of people in this country.

Really Dave, was someone giving out uppers and downers to the queue. 🤪

Wilf, why wasn't I expecting that from someone?
Actually there were some in the queue who looked older than me.😜

Wife's turn to go out for food supplies and food for elderly neighbours, at the local quiet co-op, with scarf around nose and mouth and not touching face..she scrubbed up well after coming back with the bounty...I've not been out for 3 days since a quick 7am jog around the local park and back again avoiding few people out quite well. Every morning at 9am I join daughter for 20 min excercise regime courtesy of Joe Wicks's you tube channel..we will only go out, when we run out of food. We'll beat this.

My next door neighbour did his shopping for his Mum at Morrisons this morning and said it was rammed first thing. Main thing he noticed was that he never saw anyone in a mask / gloves, or basically protecting themselves in general !!

Do they necessarily protect you? Could they not be more of a harm? Not seen any govt/cmo advice that we should be wearing them. Some guidance/clarification would be helpful.

. I have seen many in gloves that pick there groceries and change up then touch there face ect. You would need endless supply of them to keep safe

Just went out shopping because my two children who don't work in the NHS want to stay here at my house to be away from my ex and daughter who both do. I managed to find a supermarket that was well stocked but still no toilet paper. Hoping that the food that I have bought will last for at least 10 days. But I will run out of milk and other short life things, fruit and veg etc. I wore gloves and stayed away from the other shoppers, there weren't that many thankfully. Checkout operator scared me by saying that her 'eye won't stop itching' - I think conjunctivitis is a symptom. Going out on my bike for a bit before it gets dark. I have been staying in a lot recently and limiting contact even before the lockdown.

Your eye comment gave me a laugh. I've got a false eye and it's just been giving me a bit of jip these last few days so I took it out and have been going out without it in.

I absolutely agree, some employers are far more interested in £ rather than look at the bigger picture, I despair at times.

Personally apart from my daily run I have no intention of leaving the house until I absolutely must. Surely Boris will see what's happening today and somehow TRY and put a stop to it (note how I said TRY, I`m not sure how he will get 100% compliance)

I will be going out for a walk/run when my wife gets home from work.

My son who works in Lidl said that the first 2 hours yesterday and today were busy but quiet since and plenty of food

Went for a walk before, needed some air. Was surprised how many people were out... Kept crossing the street to avoid people, and decided to cut it short as to many people around.

Also dropped a bag of shopping off on my grandparents doorstep in hope it will keep them from going out.

Went down to Blackpool North hoping to get a train out for the day-maybe the Lakes or a shopping trip to Manchester-but some idiot told me that no trains were running and to go back home.
None of the pubs were open so popped along to Sports Direct to get some trackie bottoms and adidas trainers, but that was shut too.
Couldn't even get an ice cream so licked some metal door handles to achieve the same effect.

Used to have a dog but he had no nose...

A scarf won't stop the virus.

Went for a walk round the block very early this morning. No-one about.
Not in work for a few days due to a sensible rota system.

How does he smell?

Went out for a walk, did four miles and only saw one woman and her dog, and a nice young foal who trotted over to greet me.
I am pretty sure you can’t catch it from horses.

Took the dog to the woods for a walk.
Only saw 1 group of people - a family - mum, dad, child and baby. One of the adults was having a coughing fit as we approached.
Hastily got upwind of them and as far away as we could.

Bike ride for me around lunchtime. Tbh on a bike it's easier to avoid proximity to others than when out walking. At traffic lights I made sure I was "between cars". Was amazed how quiet it was in Poulton and Cleveleys tbh. Surprised to hear others say they found it busy today.

Went out at 2pm for my 1 piece of exercise so walked to the local shop (about 1/2 mile away).
Took my antiseptic wipes and wiped my hands before I went in and when I came out. Only 4 people in there. Tried to get some stuff for some elderly neighbours but unfortunately they didn't have it in.

Was home within half an hour and will remain there.

Me my wife and eldest daughter s of isolating as much as possible.

Banned the eldest daughter from coming round and the youngest daughters boyfriend has gone back home. They are gutted but thoroughly understand the situation.

It's going to last for 3 weeks at the very least so let's just get on with it and if we all do our bit then hopefully we won't end up like Italy.

Stay safe everyone

Walked the dog for 30minutes, didn't walk into anyone, then on way back crossed the road to avoid someone who was simply getting into their car, every little helps. Please EVERYONE adhere to what is being asked of us, it's easy, we are not being asked anything complicated.

My work have told us to stay off until they assess the situation. I was told this by my gaffer and told I would be called again in 48-72hrs once they have sorted things out to go back to work!
I told her not to bother as until the government told me it was safe to go out once again without all the restrictions I would not be going back.
It now seems to be (even more) money over health and wellbeing by my employer as there is no way we are in the "key workers" category unless you need your "key workers" to make you lumps of metal to bolt to a war machine on time to get you your bonus

😡😡

Work I felt quite annoyed when someone didn't stay their distance on a couple of occasions & I had to move back, most people adhered to the guidelines to be fair, a visit to pets at home on way home at least it was very quiet.

I took a very short walk first thing- just to stretch the legs. Didn’t see anyone.
Nipped to the corner shop at lunch and got a few bits we needed.
Took a longer walk after finishing work at 7.
Really didn’t have contact with anyone other than the shopkeeper.

My usual 1 mile walk at 10 am down a country lane, rarely meet anyone and tonight went to Aldi earlier than planned as they are now closing at 8pm, arrived there at 7.15, just six others in the store and plenty of stock including toilet rolls, managed to obtain all the fresh fruit I needed and all the other items to last until next Monday.
Tomorrow will have to finish power washing the patio that I started today.
