Less than 2000 season tickets sold...

Some do it even though it can make no real sense to for many, if they are going to buy anyway that is. Maybe it just makes some feel better seeing the money in their account...
I suspect it’s just a case of people understanding basic economics better than others to be honest. It ALWAYS makes sense to hold onto your cash as long as possible in this kind of scenario.

You’re perfectly entitled to give your money away unnecessarily (and you may have your own reasons), but to suggest that it ‘doesn’t make sense’ to wait until close to the deadline, is plain ridiculous…

I thought you'd reply.

Oh I'm absolutely fine with economics thanks hence why I've managed to set aside some ST money with zero need to try and save it for anything else, regardless of what happens.

You still haven't named 1 single benefit for people in my situation to hang onto the money.

Maybe read the older posts about this again, I've set out the circumstances for where it makes zero difference only, for those who are buying one anyway.

Yet many would still hold on out of some weird mindset.

It was raised much earlier on the thread and made me curious why those specific people do it.

Just wondering which bank account you have that pays interest and how many millions you have squirrelled away for it to make any difference 😁

There’s no point in me setting out anything… You clearly don’t get it. And if you think I’m going to waste my time trying to help you out, you can forget it ..

I dont think so, generally if people dont buy during the early bird they dont buy

That's been the pattern for the last few seasons
It's why I think sometimes early bird should actually be extended until the eve of a season. Miss the deadline and you're more likely not to bother!

As mentioned most folk want to hold on to their cash as late as possible.
That includes missing out on the early bird special.
You can expect ST sales to go up significantly in early August.
Interest rates and inflation will impact sales no matter what this upcoming season. Strangely enough, if the economy tanks, pay at the gate will go up if we do well as people seek respite from their realities.

I would buy my ticket when I had the money, if it was the day they were released I would get it then, I wouldn't hold onto it, something could happen where you need all the spondoolies you have so better to get it when you can. There is no benefit in holding on for the last day, there's no interest to be made so get it when you can afford it.

It's in the region of 3,500 now. I feel that if Stephen Dobbie was the manager, we would have sold 5,000.
🧡UTMP🧡
Tend to agree - 3,500 is really poor - maybe an extra 1000 before early birds ends which sends us back to 6,000-7,000 attendance - Sadler must have a lot of faith in Critchley.

Let's see the total before we get all pessimistic.

The last week ramps up significantly, players back in training, signings, payday, people holding onto their money until the last minute... 😌

With better marketing, exciting signings and a statement from the owner outlining his plans for the club, that figure could have been much higher. In the absence of all of those supporters are voting with their feet.

I think this exact message has been posted every year except the ones when we got promoted.

Sorry but I keep hearing this... about the owner outlining his plans.

SS outlined his plans in the video interview with Critchley and the ex SSN guy.

We want to get back in the championship as quickly as possible.

We could improve other aspects of marketing of course, but why do people keep saying he hasn't outlined his plans when he has?

I queued today at about 12:30 to renew my four STs. I waited about 15 minutes as there were probably 10 people in front of me renewing also. Two lads on the phones constantly while I was in there also doing STs. UTMP.

Got to be hoping for a minimum 6000 ST sales, which wouldn't be bad for us in league 1.

Trouble is, there are only 5 or 6 away teams in this drab fixture list, who will bring more than 1500 to Bloomfield Road.

Had a glance at the table.

Barnsley, Carlisle, Derby, Wigan, Pompey, Bolton and maybe Port Vale.

Not that many really.

With Derby and Port Vale both being night matches. they will bring quite a few less than they would for a saturday.

But still a lot more than Northampton and Cheltenham will bring to Blackpool for their night game. 🤣

I hope so BB.
We renewed ours (2) less than an hour ago
The lad said we've sold over 3,000 now, which made me feel a bit sad unless there's a rush for early bird sales this week.
3.5k last week according to someone from a source at the club, then 3.5k days later, now it's just over 3k...

Not sure some of the staff in the ticket office are in sync with each other...

I'm waiting till the point when it's least obvious in our bank account (pay day) so I don't get moaned at cos she won't notice why the money has suddenly dropped lol.

There's one advantage to waiting...
Man up 😉

Women probably spend more on their hair per year...

Tim, John, Nick and Andy are in and out of make up in a flash.

It takes hours and a team of top stylists to get the look just right for Raggy and I

When I made a case based on financial reasoning I was shot down by a couple on here. Posters I've chosen to block

He had a lot of faith in Grayson and Appleton too judging by the length of contract he gave them. 🤷

Renewed tickets for four generations this afto, lady said we were approaching 4,000 so that's at least 3,001 gone!

Talking about my generations, who can beat four?🤪
If it was 3.5 last week from a club source, you'd think it would be more than 4k now, I do wonder if those in the ticket office have access to hospitality numbers too, as it's often seperate.

Not had time to go ticket office to get ours and I have to go as complicated hoping to get to the ticket office Thursday for our 4

What in the post I made upset you?
Nothing at all. You made a very relevant and pertinent observation on how the current political, social and economic climate has a critical bearing on how decisions are arrived at as to whether to opt for an outlay of crucial household expenditure on such superfluous items as season tickets.

Some boneheads have in the past called me names (the irony eh?) for having the temerity to point out these very facts as though £369 multiplied by X is of a trifling nature in these said extreme times of abject economic anguish.
