Less than 2000 season tickets sold...

It doesn’t make any difference whether we like it or not. Sadler has spent the last four years telling us he only the ‘guardian’ of the club and the same amount of time proving he’s the boss and what he says goes. Which he is perfectly entitled to do, he laid out the millions to buy it, however I wish he would give over pretending we are involved. Apart from shelling out our hard earned, he doesn’t give a monkeys what we think.
I think it's clear from manager choices that he didn't listen to what fans want and tap into building a feelgood factor that way. OK many want different things. But certainly it was obvious to most what fans didn’t want, Appleton for eg.

Owners should care what fans think overall, especially fan owners. But he's probably right to switch off to some aspects of social media as it'll get a bit grating as people drift between things being the best thing ever and the end of the world.

So we sell 5,000 at £349 which is 1.75 Million but sell 8,000 at £249 and you get 1.99 million so more money, more supporters in the ground, more merchandise bought, more refreshments purchased plus a better atmosphere. That's called business, sell 10.000 ST's at £249 and it's. 2.49 million.

It seems obvious to me, but Sadler's the master businessman, he knows what he's doing (guffaw)
But would we sell those numbers ? No Guarantee we would

But everyone thinks different in any case…. So if he does what you want, then he’s not doing what someone else wants … He can’t win !

Decisions have to be made… Simon and his team are in a far better position to make those decisions than any of us. Why can’t folk just let them get on with it, instead of constantly sticking their beaks in?

I didn’t say anywhere he should do what I want. I merely stated he keeps pretending we are involved, we aren’t. The PR from the club is shite, I’m not suggesting we should be informed of everything, nor that they should put bulletins out every day. What they should do, if they want to keep us feeling involved is put a little titbit on the club site occasionally. The only things they put out is when they’re trying to flog something, apart from that it’s complete radio silence. A little goes a long way when you are trying to drum up business and stimulate interest.

He’s not ‘pretending’… We are involved!!

We’re the supporters of the club and fundamental to the club.

I don’t think I’ve ever known a period of time where the Club has been so engaged with and supportive to the fans and within the local community.

The PR is absolutely fine … We just seem to have a load of grumpy old bastards who love to moan about stuff that they (and others) make up on social media.

There are regular updates about what is going on at the club, the academy and development squad and the first team. We have a weekly preview show during the season, which involves a player / ex-player an update from the manager and interactions with players, together with regular interviews, highlights and updates. The club does a periodic meeting with fans where questions are submitted and answered. There are regular updates from the community trust. The Club has various initiatives for kids, including open training sessions and player signing days during school holidays…

It’s quiet at the moment … It’s called ‘Close Season’ for a reason… Maybe some of you lot might do as well to have a bit of time off grumbling about fuck all and have a holiday or sommat.

To be fair I love the close season its probably the only time of the year when I just go out looking for strong cider

Putting that to one side I do find it slightly strange that the club owner isn't doing more to try and sell some season tickets

Especially as everyone puts so much importance on this little plastic card

I was thinking they could maybe have some dancing monkeys outside the ticket office👍

To be fair it's an idea Daz

I'm not really a marketing specialist these days but surely something is better than nothing
I can’t say I care that much really. More fans will watch if we’re wining games and less fans will watch if we’re losing them.

If they did a massive marketing campaign the haters would just post cynical bullshit about it in any case.

I was thinking the same. Big push on ST sales, and some will be saying 'But we haven't signed anyone, there's a cost of living crisis, they're too dear, no one from the club has been round to my house to gift me a ST' etc etc etc

We've heard every one of those reasons to justify not getting a season ticket, with one exception, obviously.
People don't need reasons not to get a season ticket

A season ticket just reserves you the same seat for every match at a reduced price it doesn't mean you are some sort of super fan

Just a cheap skate

I've said that. I'm not the one getting depressed by thinking we haven't sold many.

it's just a marker I guess of how far we have fallen

3 and a bit thousand with only a couple of weeks left of the early bird is shocking to be honest

Not surprising though as very little has been done to actually market them

The club has lost a bit of its identity. It’s like we are stuck in this time warp where we keep going back in time. Seeing Grayson, Appleton and now Critchley back on the sidelines messes with my head so on health grounds, I might give it a miss.

Maybe 15,000 are intending to pay on the day in order to not be cheap skates.

Everyone buys season tickets these days pretty much. It’s not 1988 anymore ffs

Yep Phil is so bloody out of touch nearly everyone buys a ST now including my group four of which are under 30 who think that's just the norm.
In all four league's you can bet at least 70% of home gate revenue comes from ST's this walk on bit is a waste of time unless in a promotion/local rival game.

Someone at the club.
Not exactly flying off still then.. or they could say it's nearly doubled... depends how its viewed...😄

It's all about the final total of course and we seem to have a late buying fanbase.

But unlike what Wiz keeps advising it's the early bird until July 2nd, so under 2 weeks to go now.

Or payday in just over a week, which will be the trigger for many.

I still think sales should be stronger than they are by now and some of the points raised in this thread are contributing.

I think had we made the right noises etc we'd have done far better by now, but it's about the total and it will ramp up as the deadline gets closer, especially as the news ramps up this week and hopefully some more signings, should still be a decent total.

Still not got ours so that will be another 6. No rush to do it, why would I want to pay it early rather than keep the money in my account.

That may be the case but even during our Championship seasons we only sell about 8k of STs - 50% of our capacity

So it's pretty short sited to not be arsed about walk ons

Season ticket sales are a good KPI of how the club is doing, the fact that we are miles away from last seasons total kinda proves my point

Season tickets are old school. Just buy a match ticket with the advantage of varying your seat selection, ticket straight to mobile and in you go. Then if we start to sign kids on loan, can play Tennis instead and save some money. That is far more in touch with modern life.
