I have explained, it's poor PR, poor timing, not reading the room, a weird low amount that didn't need announcing yet, which was always going to be an open goal for opposition fans etc and for the negative ones on here. It could have been avoided. I'm not losing any sleep, or getting down or upset about it, just stating a widely shared opinion, that's all, thanks.

Even a simple line saying something like "with just under 4 weeks to go until the early bird finishes" would probably have cut out a lot of the unnecessary mocking the club got.

I'm not making us look bad, the only reason it's still being discussed is because you keep replying and want to find a thousand different ways to go over it.

There's many ways to grow the fanbase and I've suggested loads including being reasonably priced for the area, so far we haven't really hit a good proce that will attract the masses. I'd say most people would say we haven't done anywhere near enough to fill the stadium and grow the fanbase. Run a poll and find out if you dare.

Just been on Greatest Hits travel news that Bloomfield Rd is blocked with abandoned cars and people swarming towards the ticket office. The National Guard have been called in as season tickets are expected to sell out shortly with thousands outside set to miss out potentially leading to rioting.

Police are set to interview the clubs hierarchy to ascertain just why the assistant manager announcement wasn't held back until after the ticket office closed to allow fans to let the great news sink in, thereby preventing the now developing rioting.

You’ve said it’s poor PR yes… but that’s not an answer and nor is the fact that a few knob heads have reacted badly (that happens regardless)…We’d have been having a similar discussion about “Why haven’t Blackpool issued an update when other Clubs have” if they hadn’t updated us all.

So what are the consequences? For this to be bad PR and bad for the Club, then there has to be a negative outcome, surely?

Will less people buy tickets?

Will we lose sponsorship?

Will it affect our promotion chances?

The only reason why we've sold 2k is because they've only been on sale three weeks and there are several weeks left of the early bird discount, whereas almost all other clubs have concluded their discount period. Nothing more, nothing less. We will sell around the same number as PNE did when they were last in this league, which is the same number that we normally sell in this league.
It was ill-advised to release that sales figure, but my god people are really getting worked up over nothing.

That's a big part of it obviously, however the lukewarm reactions to appointments, price and the poor reaction the the card charge won't be making people think "Oh I must renew right now"

It's all a bit safe and nothing to get fans really going.

Had we say appointed Dobbie who fans were buzzing about, gone with a price that went down well, no charge for card we already have, I'm sure people would be more upbeat. Doesn't mean everyone won't renew, but I think we could have kept the majority of what we had with some more popular/fan friendly choices.

It made us look tinpot to release it so low, it didn't exactly get fans excited people were saying oh is that it.

With PR you try and create positivity with consistent good news to get people buying, excited for the season.

An announcement like that at the time it was put out, only made us look daft. People posting and thinking the ground will be empty isn't going encourage more to buy.

Ignored the concept of using good pr to create a feelgood factor.

Supports a poorly thought out and timed card charge introduction which effectively means no price reduction in a league below for those who want it.

You're about as out of touch as it gets.

It certainly didn’t make us look tinpot from my perspective. As I keep saying, that’s simply about how you personally choose to internalise things.

In the real world most people just read it and just thought something along the line of “Oh, I need to make sure I renew before the deadline” and thought nothing more of it.

Mist opposition fans won’t have batted an eyelid and those that did will have already forgotten.

Like it or not it elicited a negative reaction from many fans and how it made the club look to the outside world....it's an image we're trying to get away from, especially when it was unnecessary.

A bit of a social media own goal.

Announcing less then 2k lol. Maybe they were trying to give people a kick... can think of no positive reason to announce that at that time. The keeping people informed is bollox, they're happy at times to be completely radio silent for ages.

Unless it's tinpot attitudes of the past thinking it was a good amount. There was a guy on here who spoke to someone in the ticket office who told him sales were decent, the majority of fans would say that isn’t decent.

If we want to be the tinpot club of the past yeah it's great, if we want to be a proper club and grow, it's a low number not worth announcing.

Oh and the sales are decent… In fact I’m astounded that we’ve sold more than 500 tickets this far away from the deadline tbh… They all must have more money than sense.

I actually don't believe price is as much of a factor this season. I genuinely think it needs a big old charm offensive - Critch, whilst successful last time, is, for a lot of fans, uninspiring (as are his assistants), a Sporting Director won't sell you tickets and I do think if Jerry goes then there will be. a lot of emphasis on those early results.

I presume that Wiz is the same as me insomuch as we don’t like seeing people inflicting harm on our Club with their constant and unnecessary criticism and negativity and always doing the Club, owners and everything else down …. It kind of ruins ‘the buzz’ that you seem so desperate to create.

That's not me is it, the only real thing I mention is the pricing strategy which many agree we haven't got right, last season for eg. Hardly a controversial view.

I'm supportive of the club.

Yes our ST’s are on the high side, don’t think they have been pitched very well at all.
£179 at Morecambe is incredible value, yes I know thats to stand(wish we had a standing area)
Surprised to see tickets at QPR so cheap!

I didn't know if I could make all the games at the time and ended up going to every game in the end, paying way more.

Come back on July 5th when our early bird window closes and if we haven't sold more than that by then I'll bare my arse in the club shop window. At that point go on social media and inform Exeter that they are small time Charlies.

Exeter fans are still pissed off with us from 2017 when they had to share gates Wembley receipts when most of us where boycotting, they said it might harm their budget for the following season so huge pinch of salt with what they come out with.
