Let’s hope this local lady is found safe

The article I read said they found the dog near to where she’d last been seen.
I fear the worst, but fingers crossed.

I know that area well. We are often taking the pooch for a walk there. It opens up onto fields at the back with decent views of Beacon Fell and Parlick. The river around the corner is relatively calm, but after a load of rain it can be quite fast flowing between the weir to the bridge.
Obviously hoping they find her safe and well, but I fear the worse. 😞

Is this the walk you enter next to the little church in St Michaels that goes along the river?
 
Very worrying situation, the girl went missing on Friday morning and no sight or sound of her since, the other worry is the the fact they found the dog and not her, I can't believe she'd purposedly just abandon the dog so your're looking at two frightening scenarios she's either been abducted or she's fell in the river, either way a great cause for concern for her family and friends.
 
She was on a conference call and the line was left open so the conversation never ended naturally. Dog lead and harness also on the bench. Something isn’t right. Two little girls aged 9 and 6. I really hope she’s found safe and well but now over three days and nothing. Very worrying indeed 😩😩😩
 
Phone still on a conference call on mute apparently, left on a bench with her keys.
Very sad and doesn’t look like there’ll be a good outcome.

You would leave your mobile if you planned on going in the river. Those banks are very steep around there.
Assume the Police have looked into the abduction possibility. E.g. There’s a campsite right next to that bench

Do many people go in the river there for no apparent reason ?
It’s really very odd isn’t it, but the police seem to be playing down any crime element at this point.

Let’s hope this does have a happy ending for all concerned but it’s all looking very strange.

Spaniel’s love water. It might not have been able to get out at that point and came out somewhere round the corner where there’s a fishing bank.
I’ve twice seen people go in the river at Garstang to get their dogs. One person gave us their phone and coat to look after while they went in.
I’d definitely jump in to get my pooch out.

Very odd case, Old Bill reckon there's no foul play, how they can come up with that is beyond me, how do they know that somebody has not abducted her unless they know something they are not declaring to the public. The woman's husband and kids must be absolutely distraught.
 
Was told about this today from a lad at work. It doesn’t sound good, either abducted or, not been given the support required.😞
 
Where would the body go if in the River, presume towards the sea. How long would it take, fast flowing with all the rain and water off the hills.

This doesn't sound good for her. Obviously the people at the other end of the call should be able to provide more info, but I fear it's a recovery operation. The body could have got snarled up on the way and I presume that's the Police's thoughts.
 
Given what small amount of information we have had in the press, we are not able to make much of a call on what’s actually happened. I’m sure the police & emergency services are scouring the river. I really hope there’s some bizarre explanation & she’s found alive.

They’ve had police divers and underwater search teams in the river along with helicopters and drones and mountain rescue teams drafted in

I really hope she’s found safe and well for all her family’s sake. So sad
 
She doesn't seem the type to commit suicide so something is amiss.
Why was the dog still there? Why didn't it go home?
Really hiope she's found safe and well, but beginning to seem unlikely.
 
The River is tidal up to West of St Michaels and it isn’t deep anyway, even on high water.
Surely it is either abduction, mental issues or selfishly decides on a new life.
I cannot see the latter though.
 
Only thing I can come up with is that she's left her phone on the bench and either gone in after the dog or gone to the very edge as the dog is in a precarious spot and fallen in.

It's all still very strange and distressing.
 
Not sure why the police have virtually ruled out the abduction possibility. There’s 4 different angles someone could grab you from that bench and you would never see them coming.

Why would you take your dog with you if you are planning to commit suicide? Obviously she wouldn't be thinking rationally in that situation but it does seem odd with the dog being off the lead as well.
 
Man seen in the area at the time of disappearance now being questioned.

Could be nothing, but having lived around the area a few years ago, out of all the possibilities I couldnt see her just slipping in and drowning, possible but you’d surely make it out of there if your life depended on it. So many could he’s though.

Thoughts go out to her family. I couldn’t imagine it.

Been searching surrounding farmland away from the river too... it’s safe to say they are considering all possible scenarios ..unimaginable situation for those close t her.🤞🧡

So that rules out going in the river to save it.
Looking more like abduction to me and local groups are telling people not to go walking there on their own. Not sure why the Police were so quick to dismiss this possibility.
Wonder if they might now expand the search and investigation😟

I can’t see it as a drowning. It’s just very strange.
Wherever she is I hope that she is alive, not suffering, and home soon 🤞❤️
 
It’s a very weird situation. The dogs was dry, so doubt she jumped in to save her.
If she had just decided to walk off, the dog, would have defo followed her. I fear the worst. Good bless her

I just read that the lead was on the bench with the phone which was still connected to a conference call but on mute and with the video off.
