The header really was poor and some of you are being kind to say the least. My problem is when he does knock the ball down his lack of movement often leaves us without a number 9 in the box.
I haven't looked back k before your post but if you're referring g to Madi easy header on goal then I think you're wrong. For a header on goal to work, it needs momentum behind it. The cross to Madine didn't have that. He did the best he could with poor ammunition.

He's a vital part & granted he has his limitations, but they are outweighed by the attributes, I hope Yates can start to feed of him & as for pressing Yates & Bowler can do that, coupled with someone from midfield now & then. I want the Shane Lavery pre injury back & a bit lighter too. The sooner Beesley is back the better as he looked like he could be ok & we need competition for places.

i guess we will have to disagree. He had a similar one in the Everton game. The best headers of a ball can create power and angle from their body position. Gary at times seems static and not able to adjust in these positions.

I don't think it was an easy headr to score from as he had to generate the power himself and because he was a couple of yards beyond the far post he was limeted in to what he could do. Chances of scoring were pretty minimal. What I did think at the tme though is that he could have nodded it back accross goal where I think Yates was in the centre of the goal, That of course could have been cur out.

Should we stop doing surveys questioning our own players ability - Yes
Ah great shout, lets get back to talking about Brannagan & Simms. God forbid we have a conversation about needing another striker or not.

The numbers look like it's been a very popular post.

Madine doesn’t have the pace and stamina to chase down and press in the same way as Yates or Lavery and it’s fair to say he’s not as well a rounded forward as Simms is - however what Madine does do, which is bullying defenders, holding up the ball and playing intelligent knock ons he does incredibly well. He’s also absolutely brilliant at defending. He must be one of the best target men I’ve ever seen. If he had the pace and agility to be a fox in the box he’d be playing Premier League football. He’s a poor man’s Giroud. Will we score as many goals with Madine starting up front as opposed to a more pacey attacker - perhaps not, but I also think we’ll be in more games with him in the first XI than without him so getting the balance right is going to be key.

It was on a plate, the best strikers can generate power or bring it down. Clueless post.

The man also literally sleeps underwater in full kit and walks out dramatically to promote the club and it's kit.

He'll do for me.

Obsessed with me
And you're obsessed with yourself too. That's why you come out with bullshit. Attention seeking WUM who I sussed a long time back. So when is Yates leaving and who has Bowlers empty locker? 🤡

How can anyone call him a goal machine? Have you seen his stats? Terrible for a striker.
Miss machine rings more true .On a serious note his misses are not the problem as it's general lack of movement and the fact most games he doesn't do what some people claim IE win and hold the ball up .He does it occasionally at best I have watched him almost exclusively in some games off the ball etc just to see if I am missing anything and am wrong about him .The conclusion on doing this is that he is worse than I thought and he just isn't good enough .Not all but some games he doesn't seem to try or work and puts more energy into crying and complaining .Typical of some of our fans is that he may have a occasional game where he does ok or scores and they still think he is brilliant 10 games later . Said it before some people seem to have the minds of goldfish..He is a average league 1 player at best .I dont want someone who is good at shithousery as I hate that from any team even if it can work I want to see a half decent proper striker in the team

Hi ,but being in for him ,is not signing him . The question was ,is Madine good enough and from yesterdays display ,I would say yes. Although last season there were times I would have replaced him . Like any other player ,you have good games and you have bad.
Madine is a year older this season, but a yard fitter. Last season he was blowing out of his arse after 60 mins, this season he could last the whole 90 mins.
If he carries on improving we will have a hell of a player in 2 seasons time

love the passion, if only you could apply it to other areas in your life.

Yates did want to leave at the end of the season, Critch didn't rate him and questioned his professionalism.

Bowler is a surprise to everyone, Bowler was on Forrests championship wishlist which seems to have cooled a little now they've gone up. Everyone was pleasantly surprised to see Bowler back for pre-season.

Majority still think Madine should run our line? Seeing a lot of posts about wanting another striker... Confused.

I think another striker would be great, doesn’t mean I don’t rate Madine. I think we missed him when he was suspended and overall he adds plenty of value to this current squad at both ends of the pitch.
