Offered no goal threat and can't run, would be better suited at Fleetwood even if the tactical genius Steve Thompson disagrees.I thought he did a lot of intelligent hold up play, bringing team mates into play, plus defensively, he won everything as their corners came in.
Steve Thompson said on Lancs that he was great at both ends of the pitch.
I suggest he knows more about the game than us.
he didn't run once.He played well today
Bring in Linford Christie then. He's not in the team to run.he didn't run once.
Give your poll time. It's already turning round and that's with your 4 votes.Offered no goal threat and can't run, would be better suited at Fleetwood even if the tactical genius Steve Thompson disagrees. Poll results speaking for themselves.
Name one side where they play a striker who can't run. The fact we've been in for Bishop & Simms says it all.Bring in Linford Christie then. He's not in the team to run.
Yeah he was good today. Came deeper than he did under Critch.I agree. Thought he was really decent today. Plenty managers fancy him as well as Critch and Apples so that's all you need to know.
Nice editOffered no goal threat and can't run, would be better suited at Fleetwood even if the tactical genius Steve Thompson disagrees.
Haha might have spoken too soon, surprised how close it is.Nice edit
I'm hoping Beesley is a more speedier Madine too, time will tell.I've put yes as he is an asset at times, but we can also get better.
Would like to see Beesley in that middle who would add pace to it.
it's the not chasing things down or closing defenders down, I find him incredibly hard to watch.I thought he had one of his better games today.
what are you talking about...Why do a poll if you don't want people to disagree with you?
fair commentDefended set pieces very well. Won balls in the air and chested down for others. I thought he gave a sound performance, but is he good enough or rather fast enough to play up top?... I'm not sure yet. Let's see over the next few outings.
2 different types of player. Should have both!Haha might have spoken too soon, surprised how close it is.
Do you think most the people voting YES would prefer Madine over Ellis Simms?
Agree I'd prefer Simms with Madine off the bench. He's definitely a player but question marks over if he's good enough to lead the line on his own.2 different types of player. Should have both!
He's certainly not irreplaceable but I thought he looked up for it today and his value as a defender at set plays conceded shouldn't be under-rated.it's the not chasing things down or closing defenders down, I find him incredibly hard to watch.
I thought our lack of pressing was why they got back in to the game 2nd half.
Well from what I saw he isn't as good at holding it up, thats something Gaz does well.I'm hoping Beesley is a more speedier Madine too, time will tell.
Oooo good question..... Gaz is that good though you could play Simms up with him as a pair.Haha might have spoken too soon, surprised how close it is.
Do you think most the people voting YES would prefer Madine over Ellis Simms?
Do you think the flick on stuff is more important than pressing? I personally disagree.Well from what I saw he isn't as good at holding it up, thats something Gaz does well.
But he can still hold it up and flick on etc.
But he's far quicker and more mobile and the pressing from the front with him Jerry and another is far superior.
He looked to have be good finisher too, but too early to say, although Madine can score a few.
What you cant beat is Madines experience, know how of at times where to be, shithousery play etc.
He doesn't have the pace so has to be a bit smarter.
Happy to have him, a good asset and a great character.
There are a lot of people who are disagreeing with you and your view, which is perfectly acceptable, and you are spending your time trying to convince others that he isn't any good. and by doing that being totally negative about one of our star players. I mean I don't rate Anderson, but I wouldn't go on about what I think is wrong with his, it serves no purpose. Critch and now Appleton think he has what it takes and Thommo was waxing lyrical about his contribution today. I would rather he was playing for us than against us.what are you talking about...
His header was powderpuff girls.I think he's important in the same way Keogh is, mature heads, wind up the opposition, don't take any shit and stop us being pushovers, he's also a handful.
Probably should have done better with his header today but he was tiring, apart from that he was fine.
Did you watch the game?he didn't run once.
If Appleton thought that he wouldn't have gone in for Bishop & Simms. I simply asked a question to get fellow seasiders opinions on it. I've said a lot of good things about Madine. There are a lot of people who are disagreeing with you and your view, which is perfectly acceptable, and you are spending your time trying to convince others that he isn't any good. and by doing that being totally negative about one of our star players. I guess it's an interesting debate but it feels like signalling out a player to be negative about him on a day we won, and had several players who could have been MOM.
I was referring to Beesley in that line, he can still hold it up and flick it on, but not as well.Do you think the flick on stuff is more important than pressing? I personally disagree.
You're right about the shithousery and great character though. I have friends within the youth team and he's great with them.
there's counter arguments to why madine is good. His shithousery, good at set pieces, good leader, great with the young players, good hold up play but you simply cannot make an argument for that he's a great presser, self admittedly he knows he isn't.Did you watch the game?
I agree with you, I think he's good to have about the place.I think he's important in the same way Keogh is, mature heads, wind up the opposition, don't take any shit and stop us being pushovers, he's also a handful.

You have and it is interesting, in fact I would say two thirds for and a third against is a pretty good indication of supporters thoughts. If Appleton thought that he wouldn't have gone in for Bishop & Simms. I simply asked a question to get fellow seasiders opinions on it. I've said a lot of good things about Madine.
I rated big Gnands.Tin hat on. We could always enquire what Armand Gnanduillet is up to these days.
He started moves from his own box and gave it to Feeney who would race the length of the pitch and cross and Goal!
Whoops I forgot he couldn't trap a bag of cement.
We only play with one striker though? I'm really surprised, we'll see, he did have that amazing blip of form last year. You have and it is interesting, in fact I would say two thirds for and a third against is a pretty good indication of supporters thoughts.
If we had Bishop or Simms, I still think Madine would play and I would still like to see a player like them join because we need another player to push him.
I can't agree with any of that, although I am unconvinced by Lavery, but he is a Championship striker I just think he might be better in a different team with a formation that suits him more.Madine isn't good enough for the championship neither is Yates or Lavery, don't like to say it but that is the truth.
Ideal scenario we bring in two forwards better than what we have.
In defence of Madine, and I never thought I would say this, but as things stand he has to start. But he probably won't score or assist.
Football can be weird like that!
