Netherlands v Argentina

Given the ‘robust’ behaviour of these teams in past tournaments, will there be 22 players on the pitch at the end?

Little to choose between these two. Could be another extra time game unless Messi produces some brilliance.

Well this game needs to get going. Slow start, both teams cancelling each other out.

No matter how great Messi is, the rest of the team is made up of thugs who'll do everything outside the rules of the game to stop the opposition playing. For every Messi. But hey, they've got Messi so it's not a problem.

Looking slightly likely I'd say. If the Dutch get close I can see it getting proper feisty

So what??
So everything. Ronaldo has always put his reputation on the line by proving he can do it in different major leagues of Europe which all have their different challenges. Messi has stayed in his comfort zone where he was surrounded by better players than Ronaldo had with him. He wouldn't even have moved to PSG if it hadn't been for Barcelonas financial problems.

Pretty obvious really.

Netherlands not being adventurous enough considering they need a goal, and their build up play is too slow.

Playing for the best team in the world (they were for a considerable period of time) is staying in your comfort zone? Is it bollocks, they'd get rid of you in a heartbeat if there is someone better, you dont get a free ride and carried at Barca. I think you're confusing him with Matt Le Tissier at Southampton who did stay in his comfort zone. It's the worst argument I've ever heard and if you think Messi wouldn't have ripped it up at United or Juve when Ronaldo was there it doesn't add up.

No chance of Netherlands getting back in this, they're a poor side. Well, not poor as they're a world cup quarter finalist, but relatively poor compared to other teams left in I think.

mmmm... totally missing the point. Of course him and Ronaldo were the best two players in the world. Ronaldo chose to challenge himself and prove himself in other top European leagues to prove he could do it and that he was a footballing great. Barcelona were never gonna get rid of Messi so god knows why you think that's relevant. Messi chose to stay in his comfort zone where he knew he was the best and just went through the motions knowing he was good enough to do that.

Like I said, pretty obvious really.
