Official Transfer Deadline Day thread…

It's not. But how do you know it'll be zero signings and zero reinvestment?

Sadler's a fan. Im sure he wants to do the best he can and all income will go back into the club.
Because it’s like 8PM and we are scrambling about with 2 or so hours to go? Let’s wait and see but this window hasn’t been great no matter who we get.

Cost 2 mill 9months ago.. and there now in for michy batsuryi from chelsea... looks like his wage aint big n surely hes not gonna start
Ok then he went to Stoke 12 months ago for a fee which was due to rise to 5m with add ons, but he was sold after 6 months.
He’s on circa £15k per week. We’re not paying that and he would move to somewhere bigger. That’s how it is, we’re not in that market.

I was more thinking a loan pal.. didmt think he would be starting with all the players coming in.. thought it would work well if bowler going there... just looked looks like middlesboro are after him

Reminds me of when Oyston sold Matt Phillips. The next match we had Steve Basham on the wing 😂 only way was down after that

Ideal world assuming Appleton wants to go with 4 3 3 would mean us signing another centre forward, a player who operates well wide in a front 3 and a central midfield player that has a bit of everything, possibly another centre back.
If we don't sign anyone and everyone is fit and available we possibly go with
Grimshaw
Gabriel Ekpiteta Thornily Thomson
Fiorini Stewart Patino
Poveda Yates Corbeanu

Maxwell Husband Connolly Dougall
Anderson Lavery Beesley

Leaves the likes of Hamilton, Williams, Madine maybe in and out of the squad, obviously others would pick different match day squads but the big question is would something like that be enough to keep us up?
I think it would be a very close run thing.

It's not actually been that bad in all truth. We still haven't lost anyone significant. Bowler likely to go obviously. It's not far off the squad that finished 16th last season with several good additions. Patino, Fiorini, Thompson, Poveda, Corbeanu.

Stronger squad than last season. So we should push on in theory. Negativity is the main issue. Including Appleton last night. That's not great.

And all money will be reinvested. Maybe not when and how you would like.

We literally have no chance with this kind of player. It’s almost depressing not being able to compete in the division we play in.

The problem is that the squad looks seriously unbalanced at the moment, playing a 4-3-3, we've got 9 players trying to fit into the front 3, 7 for 4 at the back, 3 of which are LB's, and 7 for the midfield 3, of which 3 are long term injured or potentially needed elsewhere.

Getting a bit worried now.

What is the point of being a Championship club if we can't match the other clubs wage structures? It's not ideal but it is what it is. We have some cracking loans but we should have signed some more players that we have paid a fee for and who would be first XI players.

Let's wait until the end of the window and pick the bones out of it then. 2 and a half hours to go and Bowler still not confirmed. Will he really want to go to Greece, he must have been hoping he would be playing in the EPL, It's clear he wouldn't even make the squad. If he goes it will be for the money only. There could be a twist in the tail still.

I've just driven past the ground and seen a Curry's PC World van outside the main entrance. A journo told me that the club sent out an urgent request for a new fax machine as their own had broken down. This is absolutely FACTOLOADOFBOLLOCKSMUNDO.

Yes in terms of 433 we are unbalanced. Don't disagree. But a couple of midfield signings would sort that. Fingers crossed!

Callum Styles could be one under the radar that might come in. Barnsley have taken Matty Longstaff on loan who could be Styles replacement.
Just guesswork on my part.

Not getting worried but yours was a fair analysis. 😂

Fuck this I'm going to bed.

When I wake up I'll find this was a nightmare and that Bowler has stayed and that we've got Brannagan in midfield and Bishop and Simms up front.

And Uncle Rick has decided to come back

Oh, and Stewart never gets injured again!! I know, I know 🤦🏻‍♂️
I don’t know what you’ve been on, but can I have some? 😁

Longstaff turned down Barnsley in favour of Colchester.
Sunderland interested in Styles, obviously.

I'm not saying it because I like it, but maybe they're going to gamble on the current enforced 442, with Poveda, Theo, CJ all providing the width, and just hope Ken and Cal stand up.

In the hopeful knowledge that Carey only misses one more and Patino might be nearer than they're letting on

SS may be a "fan" but the recent TDD's have been just like many we suffered under the scumbags. We short of money or is it being used elsewhere?

Sadler got the club on the cheap and if he got 2 mill for critch and gets 5 or 6 mill for josh he’s on his way to recoup his investment new stand and training ground is property assets I’m beginning to doubt things hope I’m wrong remember Owen Stain was a fan and we were all happy to start with when he took over

That appears to be the problem, it looks like the money is going into the club and staying there.
