If someone wants to show their mate, their boyfriend's mates or the entire internet their injuries / evidence, then that is entirely their choice. The option to tell / show other people has existed long before the internet and it's not a trial... It's simply public opinion and (as things stand) we live in a free country, where people are allowed to think what they want, regardless of the legal system.
Frankly I find telling a woman who has just had her nose bust or been raped by her boyfriend what the "appropriate way" for her to react to that situation, all a bit ** condescending to be honest.... The appropriate way as far as I'm concerned would be taking a baseball bat to the **'s legs, if it were my daughter. Of course it isn't my daughter and I'm fully aware that my reaction would not be legally appropriate, but frankly, in those circumstances I really wouldn't give a shit.
Of course, if someone commits a crime or damages a person's reputation by manufacturing a situation, then if that is proven, they deserve to be dealt with appropriately. Of course, trial by media / internet or not, the accused won;t be subject to any legal punishment without a proper legal trial and the evidence being heard.
Right now.... I'm glad to see women fighting back.... Cos let's face it, the legal system completely fucks them over on these issues and most blokes will cling to any old bullshit to try and excuse the behaviour or shift the blame....
Just like this case....
"Oh what a terrible woman for showing the world her bloodied lip, couldn't she just have gone quietly to the Police station and allowed it all to be brushed under the carpet as usual"
