Can't accuse the third umpire of not taking a good look at that. I'm surprised he didn't go with the on field decision. I think someone's had a word in his ear.If they're not sure it should be not out!

Enough doubt I think. Can't accuse the third umpire of not taking a good look at that. I'm surprised he didn't go with the on field decision. I think someone's had a word in his ear.
It looked out to me, very surprised that it was reversed. Root nearly walked off from what I could see, I wonder if the fact that it was Root had any bearing on the third umpire's decision. Anyway that could prove a pivotal moment in this game.I think Root and Silverwood spoke to the match referee last night to complain about the 3 umpire not using all angles and not checking everything.
Might have been down leg, they're not showing it.Missing!
That's what we've been trying and massively failing to do!Lets whack the ball about now!
Neither will people with tickets for day 4/5 maybe even day 3.At least the dew won't be a problem
Ooh, I love it when you’re being crypticSome will be happy the test might only last 2 days.
Not really, there was a thread recently about which format was best. Some didn’t like test cricket and preferred T20. Simple really.Ooh, I love it when you’re being cryptic
It might surprise you Mac but after the last test match debacle when everyone on here blamed the pitch (less me) Root went on record saying it wasn’t the pitch that cost them such a heavy defeat but was down to poor batting.Embarrassing. But a shocking wicket. Not fit for a purpose (although I know it's frowned upon to criticise any pitches on AVFTT).
It's a combination of shit decision making with the bat and the pitch being hugely inconsistent. Most of our wickets have come from straight deliveries but when the new ball is jagging 70° from 3 of the 6 deliveries and with alarmingly varying bounce it's not surprising. It might surprise you Mac but after the last test match debacle when everyone on here blamed the pitch (less me) Root went on record saying it wasn’t the pitch that cost them such a heavy defeat but was down to poor batting.
Granted that many wickets should tumble in what is not yet 2 days of a test match but the Indian spinners are just too hot for our batsmen to cope with.
Oh, hang on its not the wicket, which is as dry as a bone, its not the high class bowling or the indifferent batting, its the coaches fault. Shall we blame Trott, who is also out there as coach and was also a great player of spin, as well?Graham Thorpe was an excellent player of spin and he is the batting coach. Is he yesterday’s man ? Maybe time to bring in a new batting coach that understands the modern game. Just a thought
