Maxi's save from hte header was the result of a good cross by their winger. We just don't seem able to put in a telling aerial cross.

So are you complaining about Appleton and his coaching and team selection?
Tonight I thought the first half was well below the accepted standard but we did quite well 2nd half.
 
For the King Kenny "fans" I think that was yellow card no.5 so he'll be missing on Saturday.
Worldie from Maxi at the end.
After a miserable 1st half we played alot better and could have nicked it.
Like I said at HT I thought Sunderland were poor.

And yet the are a decent passing side who've done well so far, missing some strikers today too.

But we've missed loads of players all season.

It looked like men again boys 1st half, we couldn't string 2 passes together.

Yet 2nd half we looked far better and created multiple chances.

OK we didn't take them but... it was far better and we at least showed some class on the ball and why were at the level we are.

Just need some more quality moments in front of goal.
 
Much better second half but Dougall should not be starting. May be Bridcutt could do a better job he couldn’t do any worse. Lavery again poor. This team is weak and we should have strengthened properly in the window.
 
We need somebody else on corners, Patino? Carey if he’s playing takes a good corner.

Are they? Glad we won the game 0-0. Pretty atrocious in reality in the first half, one of the worst halves of football this season and last season. Second half better but are we just avoiding the fact we haven't won in like 6 games?
 
Game of 2 halves without doubt. Looked so disorganised first half we were lucky to still be in the game but second half I thought we looked excellent. Need that for an hour/75 minutes tho.

That’s 1 more point than I expected in this run of 4 games!!

No I’m complaining about people complaining about our small budget. We aren’t the only team with small crowds and a small budget, as I said Luton are very similar in that respect. It’s not how much you have, it’s how wisely you use it and we don’t.
 
A frustration for me is how our front players dwell on the ball up front, particularly Jerry. If his decision making and positioning in the box matched his workrate he'd be a superstar. When you get that rare half yard of space in the league you need to make it count. We seem to almost over work it at times. Still think that ended up being a really good battling performance though on a filthy night in front of 35,000 mackems. Connolly superb tonight for me.

It was and fair point. However, we looked more likely when we stopped playing strikers on the wing. Hope never see that again just like 5 at the back. To be fair to Yates, he was much better than Lavery but totally unfair to judge Lavery out wide. He is so lost.

Not sure if players were tired, only Appleton knows that but I just wish he would stop ** about with tactics and formations. We need creativity out wide, not bloody strikers who want to be on the receiving end.

Seems like there is a lot to complain about.
Appleton is no good and the team should do better.
Sadler doesn't spend enough and Mansford is a waste of a wage.
Sadler is spending money on the wrong things. Don't spend it on infrastructure spend it on inflated player wages.
The players aren't worth the money they are paid.
Clubs with similar budgets use it much better than we do.
Not easy owning a football Club!!

Nope i think we are playing better football this season

Obviously that doesn't suit the Critchley love in and the Appleton haters (cos he left us once)

But i honestly believe we are doing ok and trying to play a better brand of football

Losing Bowler is a massive blow, we would have won that if he was on the pitch once the game opened up in the second half

First half was absolutely tragic, anyone saying otherwise didn't watch it or doesn't know a single thing about football.

Dougall gets singled out because he can’t do anything right consistently except get booked on a regular basis, he’s quite good at that.😁
