What is the most embarrassing is those trying to shift the blame and actually STILL making out that the text is real because a mate of a mate saw the message. Literally I'm cringing for those involved and those who won't apologise. If the club continue to engage with this group whilst that post is still out there and without an apology then more fool them (and that would be a shame as they are a part of the BFC Fanbase but they must know this has been totally unacceptable).

You want a big wage to be paid to this guy for 12 months ,yet you don't want him to play for us because he may have supported or does support Preston . You the big girl what moan about the lack of transfers ,now we have a good one you have a problem with him . You post do show you don't care about Blackpool football club . I also hope that 1 of the muckers don't end up with a pro career in football and ends up having to play for a living in Preston . Before you say it ,yes he would if it effected his career . Hopefully the muckers can release a statement just saying they were mistaken and got it wrong. It really needs the top brass to get involved and sort this out

I’m fuming about the tweet and beyond fuming about their lack of apology and doubling down on the accusation.

These accusations aren’t my line of attack but I don’t care what people are bringing up and although I realise there are people with an anti Mucker agenda using this to make hay it’s the Mucker’s own fault for giving their enemies ammunition and even worse refusing to back down.

We want an apology now and heads to roll.

Adams Kebab - I get your earlier post and I agree there is rough and smooth with the Muckers.

I'm ambivalent about the Muckers to be honest. I suspect most supporters normally are. I respect the good works done by them and their passion in the stands but I'm equally not that interested in them as a group, it's not my thing.

The Muckers twitter account has created this situation and I think it is on them to resolve it. Right now it looks like the Muckers believe Williams is lying about the texts but they won't/can't prove it and the player denies it. As the saying goes, 'publish or be damned'.

And yes, supporting the Nobbers doesn't show a lot of intelligence on the young lad's part but he won't be the first pro footballer to play for a rival side. If anything he would have to give a stellar performance against Nob End if he was selected to play, or else he would get dog's abuse and a rep for being a shite pro and likely never get picked again.

None of this is helping anyone at all, that much is clear. And frankly even if the texts were real that would still be the case. It should never have been put out there and needs to get deleted.

Strange thing to say , he’s a preston lad so why wouldn’t he, same as a Blackpool lad would support Blackpool

Or would you rather he was a united/ city fan ?

It was, of course a joke, for my fellow Pool supporters as you well know, not really meant for a visiting Nobber who we tolerate in the spirit of embracing those less fortunate 😉 . However most jokes do have a dose of truth within. Other sensible folk, blessed with more wit and wisdom and who are cursed with growing up in a PR code have managed to look down the M55 and the superior football played in FY1.

Saw this thread with 2 replies in the morning, I thought this might catch fire.

Anyway let's get over it now, all a bit daft.

Didn't go about it in a wise way, but one bloke will look after that account, not sure why the muckers are coming in for some hate as a group.

The north atmosphere is great and they have played their part there.

If anything I'd challenge them again to improve it further, I'll be doing my bit.

Families bicker and we're all a tangerine family, we always come together when it matters, first game just over a week away.

Everton coming on Sunday, turn up, let's make this a statement, a bouncing atmosphere.

Fuck twitter and the meltdowns.

It'll all be forgotten soon.

If people put half of thier energy on here into positive energy at the games we'll be even louder than before.

It still ceases to amaze me how some people are going out of their way to deflect blame from the Muckers on this.

I agree that with the season so close it'd be best to not have so much infighting, but they still need to put out an apology instead of the half-assed shit they've put in response to Rhys William's response.

MSG (whether you like it or not) have a decent amount of sway and influence in the BFC community, they represent a good amount of supporters and undoubtedly do good for the community at large, but you can't simultaneously be representatives with a following of 4000+ people and directly call out a player with a completely unsubstantiated claim.

It is not the fault of whoever made the fake text messages up, it is the fault of the user of the account with over +4000 people for not doing their due diligence in figuring out if the texts were real or not (that part should not have been hard because they are CLEARLY fake and even if they were unsure if they were or not they should have just not tweeted it).

Rhys saw it and now his first impressive of Blackpool fans are that we're a bunch of tribal idiots who have brains the size of peanuts. Our job as fans is to uplift and give as much confidence to the players as possible, especially those who just joined the club.

Think it would go a long way if MSG takes ownership, releases a statement acknowledging that they fucked up and that they back Rhys, and can't wait to see him play in Tangerine. 🍊

Why should a group of people who weren't even involved be taking ownership?

I've said it came across poorly and wasn't handled well, but you say people are going out thr way to deflect blame from the muckers.... but that's a group of thousands of people, 99.99% had nowt to do with this twitter post.
 
One way the Muckers could pull themselves out of this mess is to get the money together sharpish to sponsor Rhys for the year.

Couple of photos with a few of the muckers and Rhys holding a shirt would diffuse this in no time and we could leave all this god awful shit behind.

Not sure if anyones noticed but we do have a campaign starting in a week.

Good point. That 90% are the lifeblood of our club. The ones who make the North the best end in the Championship. The ones who are responsible for the best away support in our league. The guy who runs the account is embarrassing you. Take control and get rid of him.

It was posted from the group's primary means of communication. It's naive to suggest that the group itself doesn't need to take ownership. The post hasn't even been deleted. 🙄

I know others will suggest otherwise but you can't be a credible supporters group, acknowledged as such by the club, and not retract.

He's a knobber; his first impressions of Blackpool fans would be 'they are far more passionate than our fans" from watching football since he was a kid.

It's the same way that fella on Love Island was immediately branded a wanker in our household as he announced he was from Preston.

Whether you like it or not, he will have preconceived ideas about our fans, and one of them has lived up to it.

He's also a professional footballer and would expect to have to work harder to gain the trust of our fans more than most others and just about any club he may play for.

I hope he's an absolute success whilst playing for us, but his first easy miss will inevitably be followed by something about being a "useless f'kin knobber" and he'll be expecting it.

We seriously need to drop this he’s a Nobber crap it’s so childish.
He was born there nothing else and went to Liverpool Academy at a very early age.
Even the Preston fans were adult enough to accept Tom Barkhuizen without all this childish crap from there fans.
FFS let it go it’s just so embarrassing.
 
I don't think the Muckers should be above being told they're wrong. They are in this one, they could and should have done it behind closed doors even to the point where they could have spoken to the lad themselves and discussed it.

But also, it shouldn't be an opportunity for everyone to go absolutely overboard. Reaction on both sides is a bit stupid. Terminate his loan/terminate the muckers relationship with the club. All a bit ** stupid. Get on with supporting the club, we have Reading a week tomorrow. Get excited about that.
