Transfer deadline day thread

I agree but you know what BFC are like these days, they treat the fans like mushrooms as far as transfer information goes. Everyone we sign is an ‘undisclosed’ fee, as far as they are concerned and I’m not saying it’s wrong, it’s nothing to do with us. But as you say a little information occasionally would put a lot of speculation to bed.
I know exactly what BFC are like.
They have no need to disclose information to anyone who has no need to know, including prices of players they're selling and buying.
I dont believe rumours, when it happens it happens.

Agreed
I think we need to have a little perspective here, Josh Bowler is an exciting player and he has hit a rich vein of form recently.
It would be an enormous disappointment to see him go, but as we've seen before every player has their price, if the club agrees a deal, at whatever price, no one is holding a gun to our head, we don't have to sell, there will have to be an agreement by us to sell.
Do we not trust our board to act in the best interests of the club? Do we think they don't know the value of Josh Bowler? If and it still is if at the moment, we decide to sell, could it be that it's the right thing to do for the player, who may want to leave, and for the club who can reinvest the fee gained for a player who arrived for nothing.

Simon Sadler doesn't have to explain anything to me if Josh Bowler leaves, I trust him and the club to make the right decis
Agreed. We have to get the market value though, 1.5 seems way off, but if he wants to go and get a big increase in wages then let him go but it has to be double that the especially if they get the fee for Brennan J. Is Bowler worth 16.5 mill les than him as its reported they have asked for 18 mill. If the Forest lad stays then Bowler will be most likely be behind him in the pecking order. All swings etc at the moment, but can we not hold on to him for the season?

I also paid for a year of nothing and like you didn’t begrudge it. I also think, as I said in my post, we should be told more than we are. Someone must be telling people like Nixon, he must be getting his information from inside the club, but we as paying customers who last season, as you say, paid in advance to help the club, get nothing. I by the way purchase several STs and took the option of leaving my money in, feel a little miffed about never hearing anything from official sources.

“OK Simon, you’ve run it past Critch and the CEO - but have you checked with AVFTT? Has anyone enquired with the 2 half cut blokes sitting at the bar in the Armfield Club? What does the groundsman reckon?”

Surely the board saw him play on Saturday and terrorise the league leaders at Fulham. Championship sides do not sell their best players for 1.5M I've been watching with envy the Nobbers selling players for £5M for years why are we so small in our thinking? I hope to god he doesn't go for a measly £1.5M he is the most exciting player I have seen at Bloomfield Road since Brett and he went for £1.9M 20 bloody years ago

It’s their right to keep everything confidential, but we are customers, we pay up front every year and many like me paid for a full year without seeing any return. Without us the club wouldn’t exist, so I do believe we have a right to know at least some of what’s going on. Premiership clubs mostly reveal fees.

Correct, however, SS was saying how grateful he was for our support which helped to keep the club going during covid. That seems to have been quickly forgotten, I’m not suggesting for one minute we should be told everything that goes on but neither should we be told absolutely nothing. A little tit bit now and again would be very welcome, everything is treated like a state secret. At the end of the day it’s a bloody football club.

Well if your going to be rude then two can play this game 🤷
better sell all our best players to pne , blackburn , forest , Middlesbrough ,ect ect , teams in our league
Jerry , keshi , Cj , big marv and so on and on
I was just making a point of , why can’t we sell not in our league and why not offer him a better wage to keep him
F me, it's not about selling a player, we have all seen great players leave, but just for an appropriate amount, nobody is naive enough to think otherwise.

You appear to be lost, if you ask me nicely I can direct you to the village that’s lost it’s idiot.

We could of sold Brett for 50 million but more would still be reinvested back into the club if Bowler was sold for 1.5 million!

I was being facetious. I agree we should do all we can to keep him, but if the owner and manager think the deal is a good one, then I'll trust their judgement.

I'd much rather not get a centre mid and keep Bowler but Critchley seems hell bent on getting Brannagan. I'll be really pissed off if we don't keep Bowler until the summer. If he goes to Forest and does well he will be worth £10m

Or isn't it better that the club is run professionally rather than on a shoestring leaking like a sieve.

Exactly it's a bloody football club, a business.
As much as you'd like to know everything that goes on at Bloomfield Rd, if they don't want you to know you won't.
I personally know someone who works at Bloomfield Rd and they know absolutely fuck all about what's going on in the transfer window and they have asked every day this month 😁👍🏻

Bowler 22 years old, 55 league starts and 3 goals in 5 years, 26 for us and 2 of those goals both against Fulham. We are talking about him being worth anything from £1.5M - £4M

He’s an exciting player for sure but did he cost us any £££s - I’m sure if he stays that will be wonderful if he keeps his current levels up but he’s taken nearly half a season to start starring.

We have seen our best players stolen away from us for years, but can’t help but think that anything over £1M is a steal especially given our managers knack of always coming up with a gem, something he did with Bowler isn’t it?

I reckon Critch and Sadler are fully focussed on doing all they can to improve the squad today, whether that’s buying or selling. I don’t think they’ve the time to give personal updates. Any info coming from Nixon et al will be their their (NC & SS’s) nod to the fans.

Thats not the point I'm making the point is he is our best player, the most exciting player I have seen in years since Brett and he was worth £1.9M why is it even a possibility we are not League 1 we are in the Championship. I hope to god its paper talk its making me feel sick

You seem to be under the impression buying a season ticket should get you round the clock access to the boardroom. If you don’t like the way the club’s being run - I suggest you don’t bother next year.
If you can get your carer to read my post to you again, you will realise I said the occasional tit bit. Now go and have a lie down you’ll feel better in the morning.

From Lancs Live:

Morgan Rogers looks to be joining Blackpool

We believe Morgan Rogers will be joining Blackpool on loan from Manchester City.

It is believed Blackpool have fought off interest from a number of clubs to acquire his services.

Whilst this hasn't been officially confirmed, we understand Bloomfield Road will be his destination.

It is increasingly likely that this means he will come in to replace Josh Bowler who is set to join either Bournemouth or Nottingham Forest should they match the club's asking price in the late hours

I know, I think we shouldn't sell him at all I was just pointing out how it used to be. KO would have accepted £100k and driven him there himself!

Yet another one who takes a small complaint and blows it all out of proportion. I will repeat for the last time I said “ the occasional tit bit” nowhere have I said or even intimated I want, or need to know everything, or even most things, just “ the occasional tit bit”.

Wes was far more exciting for me 👍

Which could mean Bowler is on his way and Brannagan could be on again

I maybe be on my own here but I don't think £1.5m for someone with 18months left on their contract is a poor offer, any sale will likely have add ons and sell on fees. If he had 2.5+ years left on his contract then ofcourse we would be receiving his true value, which I believe to be somewhere between 4 and 6 million. If he goes to forest and does well we could end up with 20% of a hefty fee, taking his value up to where many believe it to be anyway.

In addition, unlike Brannagan, Bowler hasn't come out and said he wants to stay so we could risk keeping a player who wants to leave. He's unlikely to sign an extension with us given that there are clubs who could afford to pay him 10x what he's on here, even more so if he becomes a free agent having run his contract down.

I'd be very surprised if we see him in tangerine again. Bloody hope I'm wrong though 😂
On your own pal 😂

Here's your tit bit then.

Josh Bowler may or may not go to Forest this evening.

AND....

relax😴
