Wassup with the Muckers?

Where exactly did BFC say that? A) it wouldn't be the right thing to do and B) I can't recall it being said by them.
 
Apparently, the club are going to be having monthly meeting with BST only as they're the biggest supporters group according to the SLO. This is what the Muckers are saying on Twitter. So the other supporters groups are going to be pushed to one side. I'd like to hear what the club say about this before I make any comment on it one way or the other.

If this is true, it's going to cause a shit storm. I can see the comparisons with the Oystons and BSA flying around already.
 
I would like to say to the Muckers openly on here - I don't do any other social media - that I would love the Muckers to be a group within BST. I would love BASIL and other groups to be groups within BST. BST is not an agenda. It is not just its committee. It should be the only fans group that speaks to the Club because every other fans group should be represented within it. It should be like the TUC or the CBI, an umbrella organisation for all groups and individual fans who have no group. The fans should lead BST and formulate ideas and wishes, as fans to present to the Club. That way, we are stronger, not fragmented. I am certain that is what the Club wants - to speak to all fans, through one organisation. Not to control the agenda, not to gain an upper hand, not to get people onside, but to talk to everyone through one channel. I seriously believe this and if the Muckers are strong enough, they should agree to be strong through BST. Of course, that would require BST to actually meet with its members. There is no substitute for face to face interaction.

We all support the same team mate. People should work together with people. It's not difficult. If people want to seek out difference be different and exploit it for positional advantage then I say, poo! You're wrong, and it works to no-one's benefit.

It’s like having a number of different unions in 1 workplace . Devalues power of them all. Dissolve all and have one group or no group. Pity we don’t have a social club where food is served families are welcome and snorting coke is not acceptable. At the moment it appears we have an equivalent of the Brexit Party, or Free Nelson Mandela Group, outdated after serving a purpose at the time. Sometimes I feel we are still an unhappy club

Of course we all support the same team but we are discussing different supporters group connected to the club and your very poor attempt at playing Kofi Annan.

I'm not slating or prasing BST, BASIL or the Muckers but why on earth should other supporters groups morph into BST on your say so ?

If the Muckers just wanted to be BST then surely they wouldn't have formed in the first place, they could have all just joined BST ?

No owner or chairman or board should be pushing aside a fan group. If they like it or not, the Muckers are a big section of our supporters, arguably they're the biggest supporters group. If Sadler is pushing them out because he doesn't like what they're saying, then that's not a good look. Fans have the right to their opinions and the club has the right to ignore them if they want, but flat out refusing to hear them will just cause trouble down the road.

You are exactly what is wrong with fans groups. It's not on my say so. I have an idea. If people agree then let's give it a go. You are insecurity writ large - why should we do it cos you say so? That's silly thinking. Just have an opinion and let it be shared - that's all.

Think the reason BST are being targeted is that they're agreeing to the meetings. It's seen as them trying to undermine the other groups and establish themselves as the one true voice of Blackpool fans when that will never happen.

I apologise for my silly Middle East and Kofi Annan quips but there is not going to be any rainbow alliance between BST and the Muckers.

You know that and I know that so please let's stop pretending otherwise.
 
The Muckers bring positives, the North stand, getting all the fans together who want an atmosphere is their doing. The kids mascot packages, etc.. They need a rebrand if they want to be taken seriously, the club can’t engage with a group with the same name as the 90s ‘football firm’. You wouldn’t get West Ham offering the ICF a seat at a board meeting. Likewise the meeting with the players - the club should never have let it happen, well intentioned or not.

But they are probably the biggest, certainly loudest fans voice at the club and the club can’t just ignore them. It needs them to be honest to keep that north stand going.

I'm not pretending. I am not on the committee of BST but I believe that the concept has a lot to offer. I'm also sorry for sighting you. Maybe I meant that what you said was wrong with fans groups.

If there is some background to BST and the Muckers, then I say, put it to one side. Let's be bigger than that and move on.

Which should be how it works. However, due to the damn right ignorance of BST hierarchy, they believe they’re the only ones who deserve an opinion about the club. They don’t care about non-members, nor members and their views, wishes and feelings surrounding the club.

I know you mean well and I am not suggesting that groups can't combine for the greater good BUT


the Muckers are never going to just morph in to BST.

I'm not saying that because of the "bad blood" that some are talking about.

They are just two totally different groups.

You make a fair point. I'd just like to see all of these groups speak through one voice. As I say it doesn't have to be one committee or these people, just a committee, with people voted in who want to do it.

I am a member of BST and I am not a group. I would suggest that a lot of people are members of BST and they are not a group. It's important to disassociate yourself from the people you perceive to think who BST are, and the fans who are members of the committee of BST. If the members choose other committee members then new committee members there will be.

I think the majority of us would like to have one voice. Have all the season ticket holders or even all the people who have bought tickets over last season vote on a committee, but that would take a huge effort to organise, that I don't think anyone would be willing to put in.

I won't pretend that I don't know where you are coming from but it's probably fair to say that BST have also organised initiatives which have benefitted the club, supporters and the local community.

I'm sure that the Muckers have also made positive contributions to various initiatives.

If I'm allowed to criticise the Muckers, I'd say they are wrong to have a go at BST if Sadler is ignoring them, surely IF - I don't know what's going on - that's the case then Sadler should be the target.

Unless of course, the BST have arranged for Sadler to ignore the Muckers !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I agree with your view. Could the current BST Committee achieve it? I think they should be put to the test. With backing from the fans of course.

The current BST committee don't even want to talk to their own members. That's why their membership numbers have been dropping. I was a member during the boycott, but left after. My dad left last year because of the lack of communication. It would have to be done by the club or someone independent.

And I have been on their case time and time again precisely because of your point about the lack of communication. But, the concept of BST is a good one.
Perhaps it's time for a new guard.

Let's stay in the real world please.

BST is a very cliquey organisation.

That's not a criticism and most similar organisations are the same, like minded friends who want to do good getting together and enjoying doing good things.

The last thing they would want is Muckers on their committee regardless of what they tell you about governance etc, etc.

BST don’t allow Sadler to be the target, that’s the issue. They refuse to challenge him about anything, including their members grumbles, whilst protecting him from any challenging questions.

You’ve got to ask yourself, why would they protect him to the extent they do from challenging questions and refuse to criticise, even remotely, despite their being things happening/happened at the club that deserve to be criticised. Is it to ensure they don’t upset the apple cart?

West Ham, regularly, have football hooligans such as Cass Pennant & Carlton Leach in their premium boxes.

Also, The Muckers (Football Hooligan Firm) were founded in the early 00’s, not the 90’s.

Sorry, I was just thinking that you were wrong to have a pop at BST and blame them for Sadler ignoring the Muckers but I see where you are coming from now.

I'm not saying it's definitely happening but certainly easy for Sadler to just listen to one group and for them to blow smoke up each others @rse than to listen to all groups, especially when some might be more challenging about certain issues.

Like I say, I wouldn't pretend to know exactly what's happening but you certainly make good and fair points there.
