I get the impression that some people are using Maxwell as. Scapegoat for Appleton but let’s face it Maxwell can do nothing about our failure to score and with the comments Appleton made regarding Grimshaw I wouldn’t be too confident about him stepping up if given the chance

Does he have any qualms about the result I wonder, or the lack of 3 points, or the lack of winning in the last ten games, or the lack of support from the fans, I wonder.
As far as he is concerned it's the Michael Appleton knows best show.

thought we actually played ok. First half bit crap but second half better.

Rogers was good I thought, like what I see with him other than I was worried he might go off injured already.

Bowler bit quiet first half but had springs in the second. Probably rusty. But won’t take long to find his feet.

CJ was ok in parts. Same as Madine - not sure on him being in the Oddfelows after the game though, that shows lack of discipline particularly as a captain and a 2-0 loss.

Maxwell completely at fault for 2nd goal. No excuses.

Thought we were ok at the back. Marv had a decent game IMO.

Midfield we looked as weak as ever, wouldn’t say Patino had the worst game, he was alright to be fair but we need a strong leader in there.

Yates came on a bit to late and should have probs started.

Frustrating: didn’t think Watford were even that good to be honest but managed to nick it.
 
For me we were even in the first half, the game got stretched 2nd half and we got caught when we lost possession and that seems to be when we've lost most goals , changing the team so much with half fit wingers don't make any sort of sense to me ,they didn't look much good but our game management was crap

The majority of the fans ire was, and is, directed at the off field failings rather than on. The wrong team selection, subs, or rather lack of same, the manager thinking we had done rather well and saying ,in the Gerzett, that things may get better in the next couple of months? I don’t know where he thinks we will be in a couple of months, perhaps he thinks all the teams around us are going to stand still and wait until we get better! As the Aussies say , you couldn’t make it up.

To be honest though, the first few defeats hurt, then they happened that much you got used to it. Now you are prepared so you do give less shits. That is how shit we have become.

look, I've no problem with those wanting Appleton gone, it's got to the point for me that failing to win this next match and I'd get rid of him. However, every defeat hurts, every defeat doesn't help our cause, so sotrry but the excuse of laughing in the face of adversity is just bullshit. All your posts for a while now suggest you get some sick pleasure from it.

Only players I have ever had a go at are those obviously not putting in the effort.
Some may not be up to regular championship football but we are not losing games due to lack of effort.
I have also seen people posting they hope we get beat so Appleton gets sacked, and some of the names put forward to replace him are laughable.
He may well be on borrowed time, but I take no pleasure in it.

I get quite angry when we lose even now so I’m certainly not enjoying it. The shitness is laughable though when you take a step back.

The best way to describe is that Agent Appleton has been sent from Preston to cause as much destruction as possible.

Watched the game again - painful tactics - with Watford commentary. Not sure who they were but commented ‘ I don’t understand why you would leave your top scorer Jerry Yates on the bench. It really is baffling, Forrest offered 2.3 mill for him, Bournemouth and Brentford two prem teams have enquired about him recently, but he can’t get in a bottom of the league championship side!!?!’ If he is being saved for a sale then the club need to tell us as not playing him gives me a headache trying to work out why. Came on against Forrest scored and assisted a goal inside 30 mins.

He wasn’t totally wrong

We were on top without being totally on top - I think edging it might be a better phrase but then the ‘not good enough’ players got involved

We weren’t on top, we were improving, but from a very low base. 2 shots, 1 on target can hardly be called on top. Except by Appleton of course.
